We need for lectures to continue because the students are losing valuable time and my daughter can't afford to lose a year.

These protests are a national issue, not a local issue & is why they are being handled in the way. Do we honestly think all of this will magically go away if the NMMU opens its doors this afternoon? If we do, I'm very concerned.

This unlawful protests is weakening our education system! OUR DEGREES will be useless if this caries on...

My son is doing his last year (honours) and I dont see why a few unlawful citizens should be allowed to steal his education from him.

Students should study, gain an education and contribute to the economy in a positive way. Unlawful protests are negative ways of solving problems - they are the easy way out.

all we want is good education for our children and the future.
not fighting, burning and protects all the time.
we all pay for what we have in life, no matter what.

I signed this petition becausebi have a daughter who is a 3rd year LLB student at UFS and this striking/violence is highly disruptive to my daughters studies. We cannot allow a minority group of deliquents to keep the rest of us hostage. There are more students who want to study and achieve their dreams than lazy, striking hooligans.

Because i want to go to school. I can not repeat a 2nd year next year because of people who are irresponsible, who are selfish, who are corrupted, who are greedy. I want to fulfil my dreams and be able to provide for my family.

I feel very strongly about the injustice of the current unlawful protests. Those who have paid for their studies are now being disadvantaged and having something they have paid for taken away from them. I believe this rabble should be arrested, and banned from University!!!

I believe in the right to protest and the right to education as enshrined in our Constitution. I am however against the ongoing violence, arson and intimidation which seems to be the current norm. If necessary we could still protest in a peaceful manner, (Mahatma Ghandi comes to mind) and we should hold a referendum as Wits University is currently doing. The Government's chickens have come home to roost.

It is unacceptable behaviour to destroy and vandalise everything to get their own way. My own daughter and nieces are students at NMMU and are not able to attend classes. Someone must take responsibility and action!!
I believe it is ridiculous for NMMU and other universities to have to take this.

The government is doing absolutely nothing to stop these thugs. Need to get rid of Zuma ! Not my President for sure !! The youth are following him - he got away with it all these years

If a service costs money to provide, it cannot be offered for free.
Bursaries should be allocated to deserving students only, dependant on their financial situations and academic results. Totally honesty is a MUST in this screening process.

I currently have 2 children as students at NMMU and can not afford that this year goes wasted because of a small % of idiots ruining the chances of serious students. My son is a fourth year honours student and must finish his degree this year otherwise it causes massive problems for his planned future.
