My two sons have been going to the drum for about 4years now. They take part in young drum.
It has helped them in so many ways from becoming fantastic performers to amazing dancers.
If the drum closes it will take away all the wonderful opportunities they have on offer for the young people.
Please sign this petition and keep the drum open for many more prosperous years.

Because we need The Drum as a community hub & vehicle for arts in the West Midlands.

I have signed the petition because the Drum is a vital and important asset to black culture and the arts. We have nothing to call our own. I've been to many plays at the Drum as I love live drama. Come on People ✊ we got to fight for this one

The arts are the glue of a community, the expression of joys, hurts, anger, passion, love and a myriad of other emotions. The Drum has been the personification of the black and Asian soul of Birmingham and without it the people's outlet for expression will be severely curtailed.

This venue can not close it offers so much to the community its a landmark in Newtown. It's reputation for a great venue is known far and wide taking it away will not produce anything positive. The council needs to understand life isnt always about money its about community spirit, its about bringing ppl together.

I sighned this petition because I am sick to death of the tory party and all other organisations closing down Working class motivational places that inspire and at times keep people from falling into deeper depression levels because music and any creative things like the drum heal ud

Like you said, the Drum for me is the only local black Arts venue within the city. I have visited & known of many events there that I have supported in the past & even thinking of going to this season. I am shocked to hear that the place is in liquidation, I know it is vital for our kids & community. What will be next? Save our Drum!

The Drum is the place for artistic events that reflect the black and minority community, and I would be very saddened if this cannot continue, as the community will lack access to artists in this venue, I have memories and it makes me proud, that in a the so called 'socially deprived' Newtown, the Drum has brought many artists, it's around the corner from where I live....in newtown. It needs to stay with a strong hold of support from people who come here. Keep the Drum beating for our local artists, community and people far and wide.

The Drum has helped so many disadvantaged children to prosper and develop their self esteem and Confidence It would be very detrimental to our community to close this extremely rewarding venue down.

It is vital that all people in particular citizens from BME communities have access to facilities; where cultural creativity can be offered for both creators and audiences. Once again, people that require the most support are striped of resources they require in order to develop and grow.

It's the only thing the black community has left especially for youths. I attended drama classes here aswell as watching afro Caribbean influenced arts and crafts and plays etc would be such a shame to see the drum close it's door!!

Because this was place for the youth when I was younger to come and express themselves together doing things besides hanging on the streets. The drum was a place I did my work experience at also and it has helped me a lot for the reason it was on me of things that put me on the road to where I am now

This venue is an excellent resource for the community. I can not imagine this no longer being accessible to the local community. Where will the children and young people go ?
