As a qualified arborist i know for a fact these trees can be maintained to clear the lines so there is no need to fell them. i also know for a fact delta and the land owners are going ahead with the fell as they are sick of the costs involved with maintanance but wont entertain any idea of moving the lines! Pure bloody lazyness! Its no secret delta hates trees

Power companies know that power will go underground in the next few decades anyway. Make an exception. These mature trees are an important piece of local history for all to enjoy.

These trees are beautiful and make an impressive entrance to the Queenstown area. Any replacements will take years to grow.

i went along ladies mile this morning and these trees need to stay , do people not like trees anymore that they need to keep chopping them down. Our grandkids miss out on these lining this piece of road.

Trees are an essential part of our environment and take a long time to grow in the harsh local climate. We have enough ugliness in the approach to Queenstown with all the commercial developments, we don't need to lose trees.

We have property in Queenstown and love this stretch of road with the trees which are often the only greenry in the area

Few reasons, I live at LHE so on my doorstep, some trees are over 50 years old so we should be preserving them not chopping them down, aesthetically will affect the approach into Queenstown.

Because I feel very strongly (being a local of 33 years) about retaining this avenue of trees. What a welcome to Queenstown to both visitors and locals alike. Also a tribute to those who planted the trees in those early years - like prior to the late Bill walker

Some of those trees were planted BEFORE the power lines were put through there. The trees should not pay for a bad historic decision

I visit that area in N.Z. regularly, the trees in question are beautiful. We need our trees for oxygen. Please leave them alone.

The trees are wonderful. I understand that it's cheaper and easier to get rid of them than to upkeep them but I'd say they were there first?
