#1

I dont want this type of plant so close to our homes and bringing further pollution to our doors.

Michelle Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#2

I strongly disagree with the proposed site so close to my home ...

Peter Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#3

The negative effect on local road congestion, increased NOx and CO2 pollution and risk of serious fire.

Ken Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#5

I believe allowing Jayplas to have a site in Merthyr Tydfil would be detrimental to the residents and the town. It’s proposed site is very close to residential housing and the town itself and the area is not equipped to accommodate the traffic flow and the environmental issues this business will create.

Nicola Davies-Hindley (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#6

I am a resident and do not want this on my door step for both safety and health concerns. Yet again the residents of Merthyr have been sold out by Merthyr council

Simon James (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#7

I do not want to see Jayplas build right next to a residential area that I live in!

Jonathan Morgan (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#8

I live backing on to the proposed site where the land is heavily populated with lush greenery and trees. If there was a fire at the plant, and it seems highly likely, then I feel that our lives and our house would be put at risk as the fire service would not be able to access the land. Also, we already have the open cast, the land fill site and the meat factory already polluting our villages. In my opinion, the new plastic recycling plant would only add to an already problematic environment.

Lynsey Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#9

I live near the proposed site and I’m concerned about the heavy lorries and the impact the pollution and nox will have on my life and the area that I live.

Kerys Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#14

I am a local resident

Lisa Haines (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#15

This is being situated in a residential area. I have no objection to these plants but they must be located in resident free zones.

Brian Garrad (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#20

There are too many large scale fires in the plastic recycling industry to make this safe location for this plant.

Ritchie O'Connell (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#23

I live near the proposed site.

Martin Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#25

I live local and really don’t want this in my area.

Gareth Marsh (Wales, 2022-08-14)

#32

I think this is not acceptable so close to houses

Darren Phillips (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#44

This would affect myself and persons living in the surrounding area which my children and grandchildren live and also have a detrimental effect on the environment.

Melanie Cunningham (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

Gareth Davies (Bridgend, 2022-08-14)

#49

I’m signing because of the obvious risk to air quality in Merthyr Tydfil

Mr Brian S Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#50

It is madness to consider such a dangerous proposal so close to the community. A safer more sustainable site must be used

Alyson Austin (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#56

I object to this plant being built so close to residential areas when there is an ideal area further back on Ffos y Fran.

Michelle Coleman (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-14)

#59

I have asthma and this is going to affect me terribly, i have pets that’ll be affected, and we had no say in this decision.

Broni Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#60

Merthyr Council seems to think this town is a dumping ground an open bin for welcoming others rubbish !! We have a huge opencast black hole already at the top of our town and now this NO NO NO ! ! Our residents and town deserve better.

Christine Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#65

We have a young family and I want a clean environment for them to grow up in, plus why would they want to put this plant so near to residential homes.
It’s same story let’s just put it in good old Merthyr.

Nicholas Parry (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#83

The location of this facility is far too close to residential properties and schools!

Helena Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

The noise the smell the flies, health issues !!!!! It has to go to a safer area !!!

Susan Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#93

I am signing this as I think it’s disgusting that they dump everything in Merthyr!!!

Gillien Thomas (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#97

I do not want this near my home. There are other places this could be away from where people live.

Alison Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#100

We have a landfill and a opencasmine and now they want to put this plastic recycling plant All in about half a mile of each other merthyr council will be getting sued for blight and who will be picking up the tab for the compensation the Merthyr Tydfil residents the councilors must be crazy to want that monster business in the town and making Merthyr the dumping ground for plastic from English cities please wake up.I love Merthyr do you ??

Maly Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#101

I am signing this petition due to the expected profound effect that this will have on the local residents of Merthyr Tydfil….bottom line

There should never be any question marks either If society was ever as good as it says it is….listen to the people is the only way you learn.

Brian Sparkes (Cardiff, 2022-08-15)

#102

I do not want this near my house we have enough pollution where we are

Kelly Murphy (Merthyr tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#106

I totally agree that MTBC have not taken into account the hazards and danger to the local community that these works would bring!

John Cunningham (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#107

There's enough bad air in the area already

Jason Lawrence (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#112

I don’t want this where I live.

Leanne Williams (Merthyr, 2022-08-15)

#113

I'm signing this because I disagree with the location of this plant for all the above reasons. There must be another location that is remote enough not to effect a local population

Sam Kirkhouse (Swansea, 2022-08-15)

#115

I think this will have a irreparable impact on not only the residents but the surroundings.

Stacey Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#118

The time period provided to protest against expired whilst we were away. There’s far better locations in the borough more suitable for this facility in comparison to a residential area.

James Fealey (Mertyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#119

Far to close to residential setting and ground got be used for new school for bishop Hedley with good access

Paul Prosser (Merthyr tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#120

I know that Jayplas will have a negative impact on Merthyr. It will encourage pests, be high risk of fire, potentially create smells, increased traffic of lorries. Merthyr has improved greatly over the last few years for locald and tourism and Jayplas will be a massive set back for everyone who lives in and visits Merthyr Tydfil

Emily Downey (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#121

It needs to be put in a different area in an open space. Not near housing estates. Air pollution will increase with the amount of lorries on the road. Fire hazard. Traffic congestion on Twynrodyn Hill which is already an issue.

Katryn Jones (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#123

I’m signing this because it would have a negative affect on Merthyr as a whole, never mind the residents that have built their homes so close to the proposed site. I have real concerns over the impact on the town because of the smell, risk of contamination, pollution & fires and also the traffic complications. It would be such a great shame and affect everyone so much. I truly hope that this is overruled.

Jennifer Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-15)

#125

I lived in Merthyr for years and I know how busy the roads are already around the goat mill. Also there is a lot of residential areas around there and surely a plant like this needs to be located on a easily accessible industrial estate, in an area that already has industry! Merthyr has had enough with the Biffa landfill - leave them alone!

Cathy Johnson (Tredegar, 2022-08-16)

#127

I live locally and fear the damage to the environment

June Prosser (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-16)

#128

Concerned that the location is too close to residential properties and too close to town centre. There are already traffic congestion issues at the top of Twynyrodyn hill, where it joins the Goat Mill road. This will cause further congestion and a corridor of queuing standstill vehicles down the hill, again a highly populated area and close to school and care home. Queuing traffic is very polluting, especially Diesel engine sulphides, NOx and CO2..
This in conjunction with the proposed housing development at the top Twyn area which will bring a further 120 houses, typically another 240 cars. Also the increased lorry trafic due to the Jayplas site will bring further NOx, diesel particulate sulphides and CO2 pollution to s densely populated area.

Derek Evans (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-16)

#131

I believe the proposal is potentially harmful to the environment. We have the Trecatti tip and the Ffos y Fran opencast. Enough is enough.

Julian Amos (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-16)

#132

It's plain wrong plenty space out of town

Howard Lewis (Aberdare, 2022-08-16)

#136

I am concerned about the proximity to residential areas, increased traffic and fire risk.

Amanda Halloway (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-16)

#141

I feel that recycling plants should not be near to an residential homes. It’s unacceptable to have heavy traffic, and the very real risk of fires and pollution to people living nearby. They should be situated out of towns on industrial estates and away from people. It’s criminal it’s even being considered. Health should come before wealth. This has to stop now.

Darren Burgess (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-17)

#148

I don’t want this in Merthyr as planned not good for anyone Healthwise.

Gerwyn Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-17)

#149

Of all the land in the county, there is no justification for this proposal.

Stewart Sutherland (Tredegar, 2022-08-18)

#150

Merthyr residents deserve better

Jonathon Astley (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-18)

#151

I feel this should be placed out of town away from residential homes

Mrs Amy Cordingley (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-18)

#162

I disagree with it polluting the environment, especially up in an area where it is fresh.

Paula Purcell (Tredegar, 2022-08-18)

#163

Terrible idea

David Warner (Merthyr tydfil, 2022-08-18)

#168

Not only is this catastrophic for the people living close to this planed( without consulting the people of Merthyr Tydfil apparently the Welsh Labour Party don’t need it) site with the smell and vermin it will attract we’ve got enough rats already that we have to pay ourselves to control, the hazard to our health if it catches fire is enormous it’s so close the population I think Merthyr has had enough with the treating site thousands of tons of hazardous waste dumped at the top of the valley with a meat processing plant next to it then we’ve got the open cast to put up with also enough is enough we’ve done our fair share stop dumping on us

John McNamara (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-19)

#169

The risk of microplastics in the air.

Nathan Haxton-Foley (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-19)

#171

I do not think this is a good proposal

Rhianon Astley (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-19)

#172

It’s far too near homes and because of the risk of fire and pollution

Valerie Gerrish (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-19)

#175

I strongly object to this plant to be located so close to our house for the reasons listed. I think there are more suitable sites available locally, for example near Ffros y Fran, away from residential areas.

Claudia Allen (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-21)

#176

A recycling plant of this magnitude should never be located so close to people’s homes.
The current Goat Mill area has benefitted from the reclamation schemes employed to rid it of its historical industrial polluters. Why turn the clock back with this plan.
There are large areas of land near to the current Ffos-y-fran site with decent road and even rail links that could be utilised.
I’m not against progress, but surely the area in question can be utilised for a better, cleaner businesses or even a local school!

Huw Davies (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-21)

#177

We don’t want a recycling plant there especially as there are houses there they should be built away from homes

I don't agree with having one in residential area

Julie Thomas (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-08-24)

#183

Merthyr has enough of these smelly & messy facilities that nobody wants in their area, why always Merthyr the meat factory, Ffos y fran, biffa

Cheryl Davies (Merthyr tydfil, 2022-08-25)

#188

Mrs SJ Lewis

Susan Lewis (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-09-08)

#192

It is too near to housing and will cause smoke pollution and fire hazard

Pam Morgan (Merthyr Tydfil, 2022-09-13)

#194

I live in the nearby houses in Wallhead road and the pollution from such a place would be horrendous we already got to suffer trecati and the fros-y-fran
