I believe all those missing children should be investigated and the grounds of Bessborough excavated.

I'd like Mary to find her family and find closure

Emma Ryan (Limerick, 2021-09-30)

I was born in bessboro in 1964. Feel lucky to have survived my first 10 months there. Murder, neglect and abuse carried out there. Proper investigation and prison terms needed. How could anyone think of further abusing those innocent souls so disrespectfully?

Lorraine Lyons (Co Galway, 2021-09-30)

It's time that our Government and all Authorities, church and religious showed a little remorse and some humanity to the most vulnerable, babies and young children in our society.

Catherine Corless (Tuam, 2021-09-30)

#11

Families need to have some closure, the torture and abuse these little souls suffered in they're short lives was pure abuse, it's time to show them the dignity they deserve!

Linda Gale (Bellingham, 2021-09-30)

#17

it is a GLOBAL DISGRACE... The Irish Governments and religious orders sould be forced to co-operate and release all of the inormation tha they hold. To give the women and babies, at least some RESPECT IN DEATH which they were denied in life and continue to be denied. DISGUSTING ABUSES OF POWER, THEN AND NOW!

Cáit Ní Fhinn (61210, 2021-09-30)

As a mother and grandmother... the abhorrence of what happened and lies hidden needs to be brought out and discussed... those tragic little infants have no voices themselves... for God's sake do something... these women need answers

I know Mary from school and her family. O knew her mother too and a lovely woman she was and justice needs to be done. Mary and her family have lost out on so many years of not knowing her brother and sister .

Janice Walsh (Swords, 2021-10-01)

#60

I strongly object to any plans being welcomed while the commission has stated for the truth to be known about burials a full evacuation would have to take place and when mass graves of institutions have been deemed crime scenes

Laura Angela Collins (London, 2021-10-01)

#63

These people deserve the truth

Carolyn O'Donnell (Donegal, 2021-10-01)

How its even right to need a petition to stop this happening is soul destroying! Give them innocents little souls freedom and there families some sort of respect and closure.

Linda Hughes (Dublin, 2021-10-01)

#68

human compassion is long overdue on this very personal issue and any meaningful opportunity to bring closure and credibility to the lives of those concerned deserves popular, public, and state support to ensure a just outcome before it is any consideration should ever be given to what use or value might be made on the sale or leasing of respective sites.

Helga McClelland (Camberley, 2021-10-01)

As an adopted person I feel everyone should have the chance to know where one comes from, and the right to get to know blood relatives. And equally important, these places were torture prisons. It's high women are no longer punished for what happens to them.

I'm signing because the families of the missing or dead people have suffered enough not knowing if their relatives are alive or dead ...and the dead should have the respect they deserve after all the majority is small babies who never done anyone any harm . The bodies need the dignity that should have been shown to them when they died .

No construction whatsover should be allowed to take place in Bessboro .
916 babies are missing !

Brian Cantwell (Cork, 2022-05-06)

#165

This is a scandal. 923 children who were born in Bessboro died. There should be a thorough independent investigation into high death rate at Bessborough and an an exhaustive examination of the grounds. Our mothers paid for this land with their babies.

Carmel Cantwell (Cork, 2022-05-06)

#172

We need to find where the bodies of the 916 missing babies are first before any building can be done on the land.

Nichola Kennedy (Dublin, 2022-05-06)

#174

I am the oldest sister of Mary. We want to find our sister and brother who died 1959 Bessborough. Please support us in stopping any development until all the babies are found.

Caroline Donovan (Tralee Kerry, 2022-05-06)

#175

The truth will set you free. If the bodies of dead children cannot be accounted for or a burial site proven, it suggests that those children were given false identities and illegally adopted. Everyone deserves to know who their family is and where they are. People waiting over half a century for justice is inexcusable. To have the religious orders frustrating the ability of those mothers and children to find each other is the very opposite of the Christian ideals they profess to follow.

Mark O'Hagan (Midleton, 2022-05-06)

#181

I object to any building on the site
