The crime in the area is unacceptible. We pay rates and taxes to live here and want safety and security for our families.
Plse remove the people from the greenbelt and clean the area.

I am pleading for the vagrants to be removed. I have been the victim of FIVE break-ins within a period of SIX weeks.
I feel threatened in my own home.
They watch me coming and going from my own house and I do not feel safe in my own home.

Edda Davidson (Pretoria, 2021-03-26)

This will spike crime in the area

I live close the spruit and our complex has had burglaries recently and access was gained via the overgrown trees at the spruit.

I live in the area and I see the destruction caused by these people.

Lindsay Reyburn (Pretoria, 2021-03-26)

I am signing as the area cannot be used for informal settlements. All people getting grants from the Government should be made to work whether cutting the grass, cleaning buildings for the council.

Beth De Beer (Pretoria, 2021-03-26)

#16

this area is close to our home and I know the school very well - there are special kids with special attention in that school - and need to be safe!

The Wolwespruit open space is for public use, mainly for the benefit of residents in the surrounding residential areas. The presence of vagrants has proven to add a security risk as well as to detract from the environmentally acceptable condition of that araea.

I live in this area and our complex has the same problem in the soruit next to us. Our children need to be safe walking to and from school.

The vagrants are causing an increase in crime. They are a public security and health risk. they are destroying the natural habitat of the few animals that are left in the green belt as well.

Cobus Janse van Rensburg (Pretoria, 2021-03-27)

#31

We need to protect our neighborhood against illegal occupants.

Dewald Lubbe (Waterkloof Glen X8, 2021-03-27)

The squatters are polluting the streams, living rough in the veldt
Increasing the crime rates in the area, and causing a health hazard , as they have no access to sanitation or Proper water supply. They should be moved and housed elsewhere.

Perry Garlick (Pretoria, 2021-03-27)

Vagrants musr be managed effectively and humanely

David Beck (Pretoria, 2021-03-27)

I'm signing because the safety of children going to school needs to be guaranteed. It will also reduce crime in the area.

Wendy Wood (Tshwane, 2021-03-27)

The vagrants are ruining the ecology. They are also to be found upstream, and the litter, human waste and destruction of the surrounds is unacceptable

Upholding the law of the land and accepted western norms and standards. Our children and us are entitled to live in a secure safe environment. We pay tax, therefore should enjoy full protection of the hard fought constitution of SA.

Greg Smith (Pretoria, 2021-03-28)

#51

All spruit areas should be cleared of vagrants. It is a blot on the name of any authority at whatever level to condone people to live in squalor. Fire hydrants provide unsafe water and must therefore be secured as a first step.

Johann Eiselen (Pretoria, 2021-03-28)

#53

Vagrants are a blight on this "city of excellence", besides being a security risk.
It amazes me that a petition is needed to make the police do its job.

Geert F de Vries (Pretoria, 2021-03-28)

Vagabonds leave remnants of stolen items on river banks, they make the area unsafe

Annelie Rabie (Pretoria, 2021-03-28)

#60

I don't have kids but do feel unsafe whilst traveling in the areas. The fires that are made is a healthy and safety risk as well.

Lynelle Potgieter (Pretoria, 2021-03-29)

I have to PAY to live in clean & safe area, the area is NOT clean nor safe, i blame this on the careless ANC and vagrants who live for FREE where-ever they decide too bringing along with them crime, vagrants must GO!!

Taryn Leslie (Pretoria, 2021-03-29)

The stream is polluted by raw sewage and the previously pristine nature area is being destroyed by tree felling for firewood. The smoke pollution is terrible. Theft in the area is out of control!

We need to keep the vulnerable children, teachers, pedestrians safe in the area where they live. Also the long grass and potholes in the area needs to be attended to, it is subhuman conditions. Please remove the illegals.

We, the parents, residents and other affected parties request Brooklyn SAPS, HomeAffairs, and TMPD to remove the vagrants living in the spruit areas around our schools in Alphen Park and Ashlea Gardens. The safety of our children is of the utmost importance, and there are a number of groups of vagrant around Umgazi road, Hazelwood road Extention, Cecilia and Selati street areas that are a causing a security problem.

We want our rights and those of our childlren to a safe environment to be upheld.

Stephan Brits (Pretoria, 2021-04-29)

I live in the area and the danger that the vagrants cause is increasing exponentially. There are armed robberies in our street, when there is load shedding the criminal activity increases drastically. Then they run back into the bush area and the security are unable to find them.
There is a nursery school and a school for special needs in the immediate vicinity of where these vagrants are living, this causes security and safety problems for the parents, educators and especially the children of these schools.

Tia Dupuy (Pretoria, 2021-04-29)

We are tired of crime

Roger Brown (Pretoria, 2021-04-29)

#82

I live in the area and have noticed an increase in crime since vagrants have started living in the spruit areas. Allowing them to reside in the bushes poses security risks to our area.

Stephen Eagle (Pretoria, 2021-04-29)

#88

It is a huge security risk

George Prinsloo (Tshwane, 2021-04-29)

It is dangerous for homeless people living in our suburbs....they make unsupervised fires and litter everywhere. Also with the high crime in our area.

Nanette Laubscher (Tswane, 2021-04-29)

A petition should not be/ is not neccessary!! Why should we as community sign a petition for the SAPS and the government to uphold the law!! This is absolutely crazy. These vigrants are illegally entering areas and land which do not belong to them. It is definitely not required of anyone to sign a petition to "ask" or to "plead" to the SAPS to do their freaking job. Why are they they Police Force?? To uphold law and order. That is their mandate and task. The task does not depend on a petition or the amount of people signing a petition to decide whether they should do their job! Go out there and get rid of the people... or should we do it for you? Perhaps the SAPS should sign a petition!!?? Absolutely disgusted with the SAPS's lack of law enforcement and ineffectiveness!

I reported dwellers moving in next to the spruit two months ago. The area has since trippled.
Smoke can openly be seen as well as much more activity. Plastic ground covers are multiplying. The spruit is also used as an ablution block.
The area is across 80 Genl de Kok drive and is spreading. Photos were supplied of the location.

It is a safety risk for me and my family.

I'm a property owner in Alphen Park and I want the vagrants removed. As a women, I don't feel safe to have them around our suburbs and schools. Crime has spiked in our area because of this which is not only a safety issue, but will also decrease property values in the affected areas and make selling property a lot more difficult. South Africa's property sector is worth R5.8 trillion of which the residential sector is worth R3.9 trillion. Real estate activity contributes around R191 billion towards the GDP. If we allow vagrants to just shack up wherever they feel like it, our property sector will plummet and it will have a huge impact on our economy and GDP. Please remove them and take them to where they are allowed to shack up - far away from the suburbs. Thanks

Elmari Claassens (Pretoria, 2021-04-29)
