The water keeps getting turned off without notice! It comes back mucky, cloudy and smelling like a pool! You can not bath and wash yourself let alone drink it! It means having to haul and buy our water from shops all the time! As it’s uncertain when you will have it or not and this questions if it’s even suitable for consumption! Our machines and water heaters are being clogged up and destroyed. I have lost all fait in the water supply and will and can not trust it.

Samantha Cloney (Wexford, 2020-07-02)

#10

The water is very poor quality. And we have to keep replacing our emerson element, kettles, washing machines etc. Costs a fortune

My household is affected by the hardness of this water..

Tracey Moore (Wexford, 2020-07-02)

#13

My water is regularly disrupted causing either no water or brown and grimy water coming from the taps. We have to buy bottled water to drink and also to give to my dogs as they have been unwell when given tap water after disruption. They often refuse water after disruption as there is a strong chemical smell and taste and take to drinking from puddles! If my dogs won’t even drink it, how can I trust it and give it to my son?! This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Layla Cloney (Wexford, 2020-07-02)

Not even good enough to wash clothes in ☹

Emer Doyle (Killag, 2020-07-02)

We spend a fortune on bottled water as our tap water is undrinkable. This is a disgrace, it's our human right to have good clean drinking water. As for the smell of it..... It's sickening

I fully support the users of the Fardystown scheme. The problems relating to hard water and lime are a burden on users. They should be addressed by Irish Water at source

Cllr Tom Forde (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#47

I live on Whiterock Hill. The damage to appliances is costly. I have a water softener which is costly and I have to buy bottled water which is costly, needs to be addressed.

Fiona Foley (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#50

Our water quality is nothing short of disgusting. We have to treat it for hardness at our own expense & there's no way we would risk drinking it. It is often discoloured but even when it's not, it tastes horrible.

Roger McGuire (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#52

I live in Ard uisce Whiterock rock hill and my water is dreadful we are replacing washing machines dishwashers showers and taps all the time due to the limescale in the water it’s a disgrace what we put with

Marie-therese Mallon (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#54

I am signing because of the cost of living is expensive enough that we shouldn't have to replace all our appliances on a regular bases.

Bernice Fernihough (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#60

My water is undrinkable. We have installed a water softener and still i spend so much money on a weekly basis buying bottled water plus filters for jugs as well as products that I have to use daily to keep limescale from ruining my sinks, toilets and showers. Disgraceful service!

Trudy Power (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#62

Because the lime in the water in Rosslare destroys every appliance that uses water in my home even with a water softener fitted

Noel Doyle (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

I am spending thousands replacing showers, washing machines etc, buying water filters and water softeners due to the quality of water.

#74

The water on Whiterock Hill, Whitebrook is horrible. The pressure is really low and water quality is very bad.

Anna Bolinska (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#75

Replacing essential items yearly. Emmerson element, electric shower, 3 kettles a year. Also buying products to clean these items weekly. Washing machine and dishwasher needs products bought to help with efficient running and to help last at least 5 to 6 year. Which is not a great amount of time for such appliances.

Samantha Scallan (Kilrane, 2020-07-03)

#78

It's a problem that affects me and I can't afford to keep replacing appliances

Aoife Kelly (Rosslare harbour, 2020-07-03)

Sam Byrne (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#85

The water is realy bad. I just repleaced the electric shower after 2 years of use and the mechanic said is because of poor quality of water

Marius Balanas (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#86

The water is not drinkable And is not usable for any appliacances

John Bennett (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#88

Im signing because I live in lus mor on white rock hill for 8 years and the water was horrific. It needs to be addressed, when Irish water was first established I contacted them and they advised me that anyone in that area only paid a half rate because the water was actually on boil notice to consume. I no longer live there however this issue has been in that area well over a decade now still not resolved. Not good enough.

Lorraine Whitmore (Wexford, 2020-07-03)

#91

I have had to have a water softener installed which is an ongoing cost for us as a household.

#95

Im signing this petition as the water is disgraceful in the area. This shouldnt be the platform on how to rectify this issue..as it's 2020, and we're not living in a 3rd world Country.

#109

I have a water softener installed which needs salt and my washing machine need, kettle, showers, iron need to be replaced regularly, we had only built our house and within 7yrs had to get new water cylinder due to lime. We have to purchase drinking water as the water in the tap us brown regularly along with all the lime

Julie McLoughlin (Murrintown, 2020-07-06)

#110

Water is a source of life and if you supply bad water how can drink tap water or cook or our appliances have any life span too... living in my new home for 1 6 months and my electric shower has already been replaced... Irish water going to replace the next one and my washing machine

Tamara Murphy (Wexford, 2020-07-06)

#114

#132

We have had major water problems over the last 15 years living here so bad that we have been in national newspaper and radio over it still nothing done only fobbed off by irish water

John Phillips (Wexford, 2020-07-07)

#140

I have very hard water, my water hardness is over 46 German degrees, I have already replaced the shower in my new home, I need to descale the kettle several times a month, I lived in several places in Ireland but I didn't have such hard water yet, I invested in a water softener fulfills its function as it should

Tomasz Korzeniak (Wexford, 2020-07-07)

#143

The water tastes disgusting and needs a water softener and brita filters to make it drinkable. It is costing us a fortune on filters, salt and appliances that need to be replaced regularly. We go through a kettle every 2 months at least. We should be getting water that is of the same good quality as other Wexford residents, not the diluted chalk we currently receive.

Yvonne Nolan (Kilmore, 2020-07-07)

#144

The Fardystown water supply is an absolute disgrace, it has broken or damaged the pipework, central heating boiler, hot water cylinder, immersion, washing machine, kettle, electric showers and much more in my home despite having a water softener installed.
Water softeners waste water during their wash cycle and are costly to install and maintain. The extra salt content introduced to the supply by the softener is hazardous to health if not removed by filtering or bypass.

Apart from the financial cost to the consumer of prematurely replacing items before they ever reach their designed lifetime expectancy and the increase needed in electricity generation to supply inefficient appliances due to limescale encrustation, the environmental impact of such avoidable waste from the many households involved is substantial and contrary to the ecological values that the state is purporting to address.

Irish Waters argument that the Fardystown water supply is within EU limits may be true. As a comparison, a body is deemed to be alive (within limits) if there is presence of a pulse, even if the body is in a vegetative state with NO QUALITY of life or prospect of meaningful employment except perhaps as a policy/decision maker in Irish Water.

Derek Nolan (Wexford, 2020-07-07)

#147

I should have a water system that is sufficient, but unfortunately I had to install a water softener which cost me €900 and between appliances breaking and having to buy at least 5 ×5litre bottles of water every week is just absolutely ridiculous. In thís day and age should systems and services not be improved.

Yvonne Carthy (Wexford, 2020-07-07)

#149

Hard water dining or appliances, with a water softener

Mark Hawe (Wexford, 2020-07-08)

#151

Bad enough having to use washing machine cleaner weekly and clothes still destroyed/ new kettles every couple of months despite putting water through a filter but it’s an absolute disgrace what it’s done to my poor child’s skin. Two years of back and forth to the doctor, expensive shampoos and unnecessary medications for my poor daughters scalp which was so dry it frequently bled in patches. Then we tried boiling up bottled water to wash it and it’s finally clearing. Absolutely disgraceful

Aine Davies (Kilmore, 2020-07-08)

#152

Spend a fortune replacing showers, washing machines etc as they are destroyed by the lime.

Alison Gately (Wexford, 2020-07-08)

#153

My water has caused lots of expense due to limescale, I have bought many kettles, showers, have trouble getting timescale off sink, toilets and shower on-going problem.

#154

Water supply problem Whitebrook

Martina Walsh (Wexford, 2020-07-08)

#155

I have to buy bottles of water to make my child's baby milk formula, my kettle, washing means and taps are destroyed on limescale

Dominic sinnott (Wexford, 2020-07-08)

#157

I'm signing beause I'm on this line and so far it has cost me thousands replacing washing machine's, dishwasher's, shower's kettles and 1 dryer over a 10 year period we spent over €1,000 on a watersoftner when we moved here 10 year's ago in the last 6 year's the water has significantly worsened day's before I gave birth 6 year's ago we would have to go without any water, and was expected to bath a newborn at the time in brown water, the first 3 week's of my daughter's life was spent at her grandmother's as we had no water to make bottle or bath her and Irish water expected us to pay for brown water I've spent the last 6 year's buying bottle water to drink and boil for cooking etc.

Tara Casey (Wexford town, 2020-07-08)

#160

We have been livng here in Whitebrook for last 15yrs previously in Bridgetown. Moved back into town partly due to water and here we ended up on same line. Q10p showers, 2 dishwashers, u7 showers, about 20 kettles and 8 elements 3 this year had to change loads of taps. New bath due to bottom corroded, pipes been cleaned out twice and tank in attic corroded. Unable to drink and we have a water softener. So yes I will surely sign as its disgusting. For a natural amenity.

JJ McGuire (Wexford, 2020-07-09)

#162

The lime in the water is discussing

David Cleary (Wexford, 2020-07-11)

#174

I am sick and tired of replacing showers, washing machines, dish washers, and kettles, I have 2 kids and a partner we go through litres of bottled water weekly, so if Irish water say the water is okay why am I replacing showers on a yearly basis it a utter disgrace.

Sally McCormack (Ireland, 2020-07-14)

Gytis Navickas (Wexford, 2020-07-14)

#179

I agree

Rebecca Foley (Wexford, 2020-07-15)

#180

I know of people who have huge issues with their water supply. It is costing them a lot of money between having to buy bottled water for consumption and having horrible reactions to the water after a shower. They have small children with sensitivity issues. This needs to be put right. It is a basic human right to have a good water supply and they shouldn't be denied it. Im glad this petition has been released and someone is looking out for the people. Time for Irish water to do the same.

Siobhán McEvoy (Wexford, 2020-07-15)

#181

Our appliances are destroyed and majority of the time we have dirty water or the pressure is low.

Adrianne O Connor (Wexford, 2020-07-15)

#186

We are 15yrs @ our home and we are sick of buying bottled water the cost of replacing electrical items and even have a water softener that's not even helping. That's how bad the water is. If it's doing the corrosion to our electrical items and pipes what would it do to ou insides. Just cant be justified.

Sean Russell (Wexford, 2020-07-16)

#187

Never had trouble with hard water, until my house was connected to the new system

Frances Mcmanus (Wexford, 2020-07-16)

Paul Heffernan (Wexford, 2020-07-16)
