Bring back November graduation at Teesside University

Comments

#1

I would like to graduate within a reasonable time frame with my friends and family

(South shields, 2016-12-16)

#2

I am signing beacuse, overall it has taken me 5 long years to get to the end of this degree, going back to college to resist my gcse, and access courses. In the last 5 years I have battles many hard personal issuess including a marriage breakdown. To do a nursing degree is a massive achievement for me, to complete it (or nearly) with all my personal
Problems going on. It's something to aim for an look forward to and think "I did that". To wait 10 long months takes the buzz, the shine and becomes an anti climax. I think it's unfair to treat us like any over university degree, especially when we work longer and harder then anyother degree

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#3

I'm signing because I want to celebrate graduating 3 years of extremely hard work, I don't feel like graduating 10 months later is celebrating!

(Blyth, 2016-12-16)

#6

I am Signing because like others I think it is unfair to graduate almost a year after qualifying! We have all worked so hard and shouldn't have to wait almost a year to graduate

(Middlesborough, 2016-12-16)

#7

I'm signing because I plan on joining the military as soon as we qualify so I might not even be in the country by July 2018! I also don't think it's fair on those that are planning to move away and work abroad etc

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#8

I would like to move once qualified and this is too late for me to attend. I simply feel November is a good time of year for Those that complete their degree later. Make it fair for all.

(Darlington, 2016-12-16)

#9

By July 2018 I will hopefully be living in Blackpool. It's a long way to come back for me and my family.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#11

I am signing because I have studied for 4 years to get this degree and jumped a lot of hurdles I want to graduate when I get my degree not 10month later

(Sunderland, 2016-12-16)

#12

I do not think it's fair to keep us waiting nearly 1 year to graduate once we have qualified. Graduation is the final part of studying and should not add an extra year on to our wait.

(Peterlee, 2016-12-16)

#13

It's unfair to expect us to put 3 years of blood sweat and tears into a course and then not graduate until nearly 1 year later. We are constantly reminded our course is unlike every other course yet when it suits the university we have to graduate at the same time as the rest. Reasons given that weathers better for photos and international students can have families there are completely irrelevant and not good excuses at all. Just because the town hall is closing doesn't mean we can't find somewhere else to have it. We want to feel appreciated for all our hard work but right now we feel like we're just been put on the back burner and forgotten about.
I want my family to see me graduate as I'm proud of my achievements, but if I have to wait nearly a year to do so I won't be bothered about going to graduation as the excitement will be gone and I'll feel there is no point- I'll have been in work for 10 months. We may not even be able time off to go to it in the first place! The teachers won't remember us and the whole idea is just stupid. I know I'm not the only one to feel this way. We just ask that September cohorts are allowed to graduate in November as has always been the case and feel appreciated for all our hard work and effort. I personally wouldn't even care about a party I just want a photo of me in my cap of gown as a memory of what I've achieved. I don't think it's too much to ask for.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#14

I feel to have worked so hard and then be told I have to wait till 2018 is so wrong. Also my mother is in very poor health, and all she wanted is to see me in hat and gown. If we have to wait she might not get that change and that's something I will never get back .

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#15

Iv worked hard for this degree an feel waiting that long after the degree ends will take away the importance of this special occasion.

(South shields, 2016-12-16)

#18

I am in my final year as a student nurse and having to wait almost a year for my reward for all my hard work and and patience from my family is ridiculous we will all be at work for nearly a year and myself and my fellow graduates need this to be in November to get us through our final year

(Teesside, 2016-12-16)

#26

It's absolutely shocking that we have to go through what we do with this course only to wait 10 months after we qualify to graduate...the novelty will have worn off completely.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#36

This is unfair and my cousin is doing the nursing degree and has worked extremely hard she should be allowed the pleasure of her graduation when she completes her course !!

(durham, 2016-12-16)

#37

To support my family

(DARLINGTON, 2016-12-16)

#39

I'm a student nurse

(Cleveland, 2016-12-16)

#40

I am a qualified nurse and think student nurses deserve to graduate in November!

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#43

I dont want to wait nearly a year

(Stockton on tees, 2016-12-16)

#45

I graduated here in 2004 in Nursing, it would have been terrible if I had to wait until the following year to graduate. Nurses don't qualify until September, November is the perfect time to graduate.

(Billingham, 2016-12-16)

#46

Graduating a year later will take the spark away and it is unfair when no other courses have to do the same!

(Stockton-On-Tees, 2016-12-16)

#47

I want to graduate in November.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#48

They deserve to graduate as soon as they qualify ridiculous that this is even happening!

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#50

Because everyone in my nursing cohort wishes to have the graduation in November

(Hartlepool, 2016-12-16)

#54

I'm singing because I am a student nurse with ageing parents and I am worried that my parents could be too ill or unable to watch me graduate a year down the line.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#56

Nearly a year later. To long to wait after all that hard work.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#58

People have worked so hard for their degree, making them wait so long to graduate is really unfair!

(Durham, 2016-12-16)

#60

I am a student nurse and to graduate 11months after qualifying takes the importance away

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#62

I think it's unfair we have to wait just under a year before we can celebrate our graduation.

(middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#65

I do not agree with 2018 graduation

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#66

I finish my nursing course September 2018 and by that time I would have spent 4 years working hard to graduate and get my degree. It's unfair that we have to wait a year to celebrate with our family and friends who we have spent the last 3 years with, getting each other through this course.

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#70

This effects me also as I am also a teesside university nursing student

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#72

I graduated in November and it was amazing to graduate the same year you qualify

(Portstewart, 2016-12-16)

#75

I don't think it's fair after all the hard work to wait ten month to graduate.

(County Durham, 2016-12-16)

#78

No student should have to wait this long for that special day.

(Shildon, 2016-12-16)

#83

I'm a current student nurse at Teesside uni and think it is unfair to be made to wait almost a year to graduate

(Sunderland, 2016-12-16)

#84

Cause it is unfair we have to wait nearly a year to qualify

(Darlington, 2016-12-16)

#86

We deserve to graduate when we finish our degree and not a year later! !

(stockton, 2016-12-16)

#87

I think they should keep the earlier graduation date.

(Selby, 2016-12-16)

#88

I am a student nurse and think it's unacceptable to work as hard as we all have and have to wait for nearly a year before can celebrate our achievement. I feel like having that much time in between qualifying and gradation will ultimately take the magic away from it all. Many of us students have sacrificed a great deal to come to university and we feel as a majority that this decision was totally unjust.

(Sunderland, 2016-12-16)

#89

I'm a student nurse and would like graduate after I qualify..not 9 months after.

(Darlington, 2016-12-16)

#91

Why should my daughter have to wait till 2018 to graduate after working so hard for 3 years bring it back to November 2017

(Stockton on tees, 2016-12-16)

#92

After working hard to complete the course graduation is a celebration of this. To delay it until the following year makes me feel like I do not want to attend the ceremony :(

(North Yorkshire, 2016-12-16)

#94

I am a nursing student and don't feel this is fair to wait so long after

(Cleveland, 2016-12-16)

#96

It's shocking we have to wait this long! The likelihood is not many of us will be able to celebrate this time due to commitments with work. Why, when we put in so much hard work, do we have to be singled out and not given the same right as everyone else to graduate and celebrate at the same time.

(Hartlepool, 2016-12-16)

#102

I'm signing because I'll be one of those student nurses who will have to wait almost a year to graduate. Whom not knowing the exact date might not actually be able to attend graduation because she is due to get married that month. (Which was not in the plan-I was always supposed to graduate in the November ) Whom will feel she will have missed out on one of the most important days of her life. It is not fair!

(Newcastle, 2016-12-16)

#103

I am a student nurse

(Middlesborough, 2016-12-16)

#105

Over the past few years I've saw how hard my cousin has worked while studying to be a nurse, she's done us all so proud yet she has to wait for her proud moment for an extra 10 months? Completely unfair. Also my husband will be attending teesside uni for 3 years and I would like him to not have to wait also!!

(Stockton, 2016-12-16)

#108

I believe there should be two graduations a year

(Marske by-the-sea, 2016-12-16)

#109

I am a student nurse finishing next year.

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#116

It's not fair for nursing students to have to wait nearly a year

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#118

I want my very ill father there

(Redcar, 2016-12-16)

#124

A friend wants to graduate as soon as she has completed here degree

(Durham, 2016-12-16)

#125

It's disgusting to make these people wait

(Thornaby, 2016-12-16)

#127

I'm a Teesside student and this affects me and my cohort !!

(Gateshead, 2016-12-16)

#129

I've worked my socks off for 4 years to get this far!! Don't think it's fair to wait the best part of a year to graduate

(Teesside, 2016-12-16)

#131

Why should they have to wait to celebrate after all there hard work

(Thornaby, 2016-12-16)

#142

I totally think that this is wrong that they should have to wait this long to have there graduation.

(Bishop Auckland, 2016-12-16)

#144

I am I student nurse graduating in 2018 I don't want to have to wait almost a year to graduate.

(Darlington, 2016-12-16)

#147

I feel almost a year since qualifying is to long especially that time of year will be difficult to put holidays in and if a few people who qualify work at same place it is likely someone will miss their graduation and after all the hard work put into this degree everyone deserves that opportunity. Thanks

(Teesside, 2016-12-16)

#153

I don't want to graduate a year later!

(MIDDLESBROUGH, 2016-12-16)

#155

I'm a nursing student at Teesside uni !

(Yarm, 2016-12-16)

#160

I am a student who does not want to wait 10 months before my graduation

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-16)

#162

It's wrong to wait another year!!!

(Stockton on Tees, 2016-12-16)

#164

After 3 hard years its a celebration of massive achievement and doing it 10 months later does not feel the same. Its not fair to make people wait that long and I imagine a lot of people won't actually bother graduating

(teesside, 2016-12-16)

#166

I am a student nurse and completely agree that having to wait after studying for 4 long years is not fair

(Middlesbrough, 2016-12-17)

#167

Graduation should be a celebration of achievement not one year later when the graduate will (hopefully ) be working , perhaps in another part of the country and may not be able to attend

(Berwick upon Tweed, 2016-12-17)

#170

Because of my sister xx

(Hartlepool, 2016-12-17)

#171

It takes the excitement out of graduating

(Alnwick, 2016-12-17)

#177

I want to graduate as I finish my course, it's not fair having to wait longer! 0

(Barnsley, 2016-12-18)

#180

I think it's absolutely outrageous to wait that long!! The new graduates will have most likely began their new career and will also need to take time off for it which will not look good.

(Stockton-onTees, 2016-12-20)
