All life saving treatment should be available on the medical card

(Newbridge, 2016-12-05)

#1082

My 3 year old uses this device, it is so expensive every month for us to try fund. It makes managing her diabetes a little easier on her as she doesn't have to endure as many finger pricks to test her blood. Also the information we get from it regarding her glucose levels is invaluable. Really can't do without it.

(Dublin, 2016-12-04)

#1084

My 15 year old son is nearly 11 years type1diabetic and this would be a fantastic device to make one thing in his daily syruggle a little easier.

(Wexford, 2016-12-05)

#1089

My Niece uses the libre and every child should have the opportunity to use it whether they can afford it our not

(Donegal, 2016-12-05)

#1090

All necessary treatments should be covered on the medical card. Med card holders have it because they cant afford to pay for their meds - so how can you discriminate between the meds they receive? This limits their chances for recovery/ supression of their illnesses.

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1092

My friends daughter has type 1 diabetes. This would help her and her family so much to manage her illness and be less painful for her.

(Wexford, 2016-12-05)

#1098

There is no reason why all type1 diabetes suffers shouldn't have this as it greatly improves the quality of life of these children.

(coolock, 2016-12-05)

#1100

I'm a type 1 and think this should be available to everyone

(Limerick, 2016-12-05)

#1110

I am signing because it is so important to monitor the blood sugar level of a type 1 condition and this devices provides a pain free, frequent checks and history of patient by a simple scan. The cost of maintaining this device for a child should be covered by the Medical card, it is such a costly charge per month for parents who are already struggling.

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1112

Freestyle libre would help type 1 diabetics like me immensely. It would give total control over blood sugar.

(Southampton, 2016-12-05)

#1116

Kids with type one deserve the freedom this device cm allow and it improves there quality of life

(Waterford, 2016-12-05)

#1120

It's so important

(Sligo, 2016-12-05)

#1121

It's required

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1124

It should be provided already

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1128

Partner has Type 1 diabetes. In trailing Freestyle Libre system her blood sugars were significantly better, mood better, job performance improved, and overall happiness was greater. Really added to her quality of life as a diabetic. Since the system is now out of trial, and at a high price point, we can't continue and have had to go back to using old methods. Her regulation as a diabetic has already began weaken compared to when using Freestyle Libre. Very disappointing and disheartening; Freestyle Libre feels completely out of reach due to the expense. I can only see major benefits for all diabetics in adding this to the Medical card/LTI book.

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1132

Why would someone not sign this petition. It's about improving the quality of life for people with diabetes. It should not even be up for discussion.

(Wexford, 2016-12-05)

#1134

An essential piece of equipment for all types 1 diabetics. Relied on 24 hours a day. Would make a huge difference to an already complicated daily routine for the better.

(Letterkenny, 2016-12-05)

#1140

I am signing this because the free style libre helped me control my blood sugars so much better when I was on the trial period for Ireland. Now I cannot afford them and need the hse to put them on my diabetic prescriptions

(Enniskerry, 2016-12-05)

#1142

Having diabetes for 26years this would be life changing. Very expensive to buy, wouldn't the cost of this balance out cost of test strips, etc.

(Cork, 2016-12-05)

#1152

The rich and privileged can afford healthcare but what about the poor? Society, the government, has a duty to look after the mass of the people.

(Sligo, 2016-12-05)

#1154

My daughter needs a long term lllness card and we would be completely lost without it x

(dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1155

I have a 7 year old daughter currently using the freestyle libre. It has made her, and our lives so much easier and better. Night time blood glucose checks are so much less invasive. At school it is so much less hassle and time consuming to do her bloods. She is a happy, active child who wants to just get out and play at break and lunch instead of feeling different and awkward. The libre allows her to get a step nearer to achieving this. It is incredibly expensive to fund ourselves. We are barely using blood glucose and keytone strips available on the LTI card. I'm thinking there is very little differential in the price of sensors for libre and strips, so please, please sanction sensors for use for our children and allow them to reclaim some sense of ease in their already difficult lives

(Portlaoise, 2016-12-05)

#1156

It would be great for diabetes specially children

(Wicklow, 2016-12-05)

#1157

Every type 1 diabetic child should have this device and I believe it should be covered on the LTI

(Kildare town, 2016-12-05)

#1171

It is a worthy cause. And there should not be a need for a petition it should just be given.

(Waterford, 2016-12-05)

#1172

No child should suffer because parents cannot afford a medical device. The working poor should be looked after properly

(Cavan, 2016-12-05)

(naas, 2016-12-05)

#1177

(New York, 2016-12-05)

#1191

Any device that makes life easier for Type 1 diabetics should automatically be on the LTI Card. It's hard enough managing blood sugars , and enduring countless needle pricks .

(Dublin, 2016-12-05)

#1196

Good healthcare is a basic human right & should not be reserved for the chosen few
