Signed and shared. Year groups would be a better idea.

I disagree with this new break time rule because it is separating our friendship groups.

I think they should do year 7 and 8's together then year 9, 10 and 11's together

I can sympathise with the over crowding lunch time issue, however it's unfair to split friendship groups,it can be very detrimental to certain pupils, who for instance struggle to socialise. Perhaps just a 10/15 min increase in allocated lunch time, would offer an amicable solution to this, allowing enough time for all pupils to have lunch and much needed recharge time with friends, or as suggested year groups?!!

Go ahead with the trial on a house group basis, but then conduct further trials on a colour group basis, year group basis and a one hour go when you want basis. Follow that up with a survey of pupils, staff and parents (some do actually communicate with their kids and understand their feelings) and see what the preference is, because any form of controlled segregation is going to upset someone - there is no mention of seeking anyone's views after the 'trial' so how many people will be involved in making the final decision? You can't serve everyone with food in the first minute so those last in line will still be rushed and where is the opportunity to get outside in the fresh air and blow off steam? Many friendships are made at school and friends who do not live close enough to meet up in the evening or at weekends could lose their main opportunity to socialise with each other in person, driving them even more towards social media.

As a grandparent of a new pupil at the school and a retired teacher, I feel strongly that to split the lunch time into two groups would affect the children in a very negative manner. To prevent school children from mixing with their friends and siblings can only lead to unnecessary stress and tension. It is not only a time to eat but to socialize and have the much needed chance to relax between lessons. An important time for both the children and staff.

Don't think this is fair at all! Not fair on the children

Some of my best friends were in different colours/classes while I attended Gable Hall. Other people socialised with people from different years. The whole idea is ridiculous. Just let the children have their hour lunch and socialise with who they want.

I think this is sick to think my daughter will have to be separated from her friends, when I was young all I wanted to do through the day is chill out with my friends after lessons, you say this is there time to relax and have a civilised lunch with their friends well this is obviously not the case, I see what you doing is for the best by keeping our children safe, good, but this is segregating friendships , you will have more problems than you actually think

To think I went to this school! Wow! You may have all these fancy degrees and awards but are the people in here happy? This so called 'head teacher' dr asong, look how much she's changed since my daughter has been in year 7, the skirts, which the pupils didn't have a say in and did not approve of, the lunch finger print scanner, which i did not have a say in, was told they were doing it no matter what, and now this stupid idea, I say, get rid of her, she's no good making my daughter upset who does she think she is, god

My niece goes to this school to think he friends mean more to er than anything I think she's mad, you have you time, let them have there's stupid woman, my niece has cousins in other years that she doesn't see and she loves talking to them at school coz that's the only time she gets to see them just leave me alone haven't you done enough, if this hazard is so bad then why don't you put it as the you gets away from the olders, that way no one gets hurt cause the youngens are away from the biggens and they don't get bumbarded by them so they #logic??

Well thanks for making this. I am also planning on writing a formal letter to dr. Asong with signatures showing how many are against the matter. If you want to sign, the letter will be made soon and you will be able to sign after the first trial day. If you would like to sign,  reply to this comment

There's no point in even 'trialling' this, it's not going to work and it's splitting up friendship groups that were made in Year 7!

I totally disagree with this new plan happening at lunchtimes , lunchtimes are supposed to be a time for children to socialise with friends but by slitting friendship groups up is only going to make them talk in lessons and not concentrate.
