I think most of the people that have some sort of exotic animals now have them for a very long time. Me and my husband treat our lizards like babys they even have soft toys we will be devistated to loose our baby's. The iguana is 6 years and the blue eyed lizard was a old guy when we got him and he is with us now for 4 years. Sadly my pride and joy my beloved beardie passes away 10.02.2012 after a long time of illeness we sped a lot of money every sent woth it. So please we will be hart broken to loose the other 2.

In our area there are illegal dog fights, my neighbour has 3 fighter dogs that he locks in a small wendy , the other neighbour slaughters goats every now and then, how is it possible for them to get away with this but the government want to want to take away our pets that we care for and don't misuse.do I even need to mention what is happening to our rhinos? This is just another money making scheme, they will never have enough.

Its obserd. we all love our pets like kids no one can depart with there kids.
Sertin rodents and insects are bread for feeding just like a farmer breeds with cows,goats & sheep to be slaughtered for our feeding needs.
I have tought many people about conservation duew to me having so many difrent pets.if it wasent for zoo's and hobbiests we would have lost many insects and animals that our kids could never have the chance to see example I would love to see the dodo. Rather control it better dont ban it.

If all these lovely things are banned, millions of people will be out of work, not just people who breed and sell animals, but also people who own companies that produce products and food for these animals. The government are putting their own people out of jobs, that's how much they don't like animals. Just because you people don't like animals doesn't mean you can just ban them, think a bit further please. Its like me saying , oh I don't like children so im going to make it illegal to have kids and all schools are to be shut down... where do you think the human race is going to go from there?? Down the toilet. But then again this country is being run down into the toilet already by our government because they don't care about this country, only themselves and their paychecks.

For many years we bred , raise and sell them all! Now we suddenly need permits! Where will all that money go and for what? Is it going to someones pocket again? Why all of a sudden do we need permits? 90% of Petshops are going to close down because of this and the unemployement rate will raise again!

By creating a law to restrict people from having exotic pets WILL result an increase of illegal captivity and trade. Already people are illegally keeping and caring for these pets and yet authorities are struggling to enforce this. Even those that do have permits, authorities don’t do check-ups before or after application. What is the purpose than? Rather educate people about the exotic pet trade and provide them with information and assistance. This will not only keep track of all (most) exotic pet trade, breeders and owners but might even decrease the neglection of these exotic pets.
