Young Scot card have PASS accreditation which is official recognition of a young person's age, traditional forms of ID are generally expensive and are designed for driving or flying not carrying around on a night out or a visit to the shop. Allowing use of a Young Scot card to prove identification means everyone can carry age verified identification safely and without cost.

Beneficial to people who may not have enough money to apply for a provisional drivers license and can also ensure people do not need to risk losing things such as passports/drivers license/provisional license etc

I'm 19 years old and I can used my young Scots card in some of my local shops but I find it ridiculous that I can not use it in supermarkets. The whole point in the card was for id I don't know why they don't accept it. Would be a lot easier if they did accept it.

These are so easily found and just picked up and used. People take more care of their passports etc, therefore are more likely to not lose it.

I agree with the petition, however I have always been accepted with my Young Scot card and have flown domestically on it many times - saves taking your passport!
