There needs to be more consultation with the community. And listening to the community. The ratepayers' concerns need to be taken into account.

They ignore the wishes of the community. I see they just banned a crossing supervisor from giving "high fives". Looking forward to my next rate increase. They can use the money to buy more electricity vehicles for their staff instead of building facilities for the residents. Great work Yarra Ranges council.

Thank you for your efforts.

Swimming is a national sport / activity - safety issue.  Council has puts in lots of pavillions/ ovals , BMX parks etc - all good but have removed our only year round facilty and have done absolutely nothing - not even a proper plan to provide with regard to a proper aquatic facilty for the 100,000 residents who live in the urban area of the shire.    They already had the land and a hole pre - dug the plan and follow up action should have been obvious.

My wife and I used it, our children used it and our grandchildren had to stop using it when council closed the door and abandoned responsibilty for proving at least some aquatic facility for all us urban shire residents.

Thank you. I share your anger with the council as it is a complete abdication of responsibility to the urban council residents and there are about 100,000 of us. Fobbing us off to Maroondah or Knox is simply not acceptable. The existing site is central to most urban shire residents and council already has the land and provision for parking. Actually also an easy walk from Mooroolbark roundabout too.
I do note that our local councillor was a dissenting vote on this issue. Parkland - your efforts on 150 Cambridge Road and Elizabeth Bridge Reserve already address community space.
Build the pool in the obvious place and soon, not in 10 years.

Would have been nice for some community feedback to be sought be council before proceeding so quickly. Makes you think that the whole intent was to get it done quickly to blunt community feedback. I live on Hawthory rd and find this very disappointing .
