I too feel passionately about protecting the beauty of our landscape. Chesham is sprawling out and soon the character of the villages surrounding the town will be lost forever. And this is supposed to be greenbelt!

Our town is big enough and our land precious especially green belt. We don't have an efficient sewerage system to cope with all that extra poo either

The roads around Chesham and the surrounding areas are already stretched without adding another 900 homes.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and should NOT Be touched!
Areas such as Pond park should be rebuilt even if it means doing it stages houses there have huge areas of wasted unused land.

I do not believe that Chesham has the infrastructure to cope with such an expansion. Lye Green Road is already struggling to cope with traffic congestion every morning, something which affects me everyday whilst trying to exit The Braid.

Chesham roads are constantly at stand still during rush hour times, this is only going to make matters worse.Where are the extra schools going to be built?

Building will also destroy local woodland.
Put more homes in the high st in empty shops and offices.

Have the CDC really explored every other possible suitable site?
Surely this must be done before ANY encroachment on Green Belt is considered.

Apart from the loss of green belt land, increased population of the area will mean more pressure on Brushwood school and local services. Parking at drop off and pick up times already causes massive congestion in surrounding areas. this will increase 10 fold if this development goes ahead.

1.Green belt land should be protected. 2.900 homes probably equates to at least 1400 cars - there is no way that the local roads could cope with that increase in the volume of traffic. 3. The drainage/sewerage system locally is already failing - the infrastructure is just not in place to cope with that volume of houses in that area

It's not just the houses, it's the whole infrastructure that supports Chesham and the surrounding villages. Eskdale Avenue and White Hill are already at full capacity and this could risk Cameron Road becoming a rat run (not good with 2 schools on the route). The B4505 is not built for an increase in traffic (nor should it be). The drainage system (via the culvert) in Chesham still floods. The A416 through Chesham and Nasleigh Hill can't support an increase in traffic - does this mean using up more green belt land to build a bypass? This is not NIMBYism, please look at and use the brownfield sites or is that owned by some rich well placed land owner. Our green belt is too beautiful to lose. Thank you for the chance to comment.

I signed this petition because the proposal to build 900 dwellings on this site is sheer lunacy. I value the green belt tremendously and apart from this the local infrastructure is unable to cope with any further increase in population.

I feel that this proposition for building will have a huge impact on an already congested town. It takes forever to get back into Chesham both sides of the town. It took me 20 minutes to move 700 yards today on my way home. Please don't add to this already frustrating problem.
It would have a huge impact on wildlife etc. something we are always being told to be aware of. Such double standards!!!!

Chesham cannot cope now with the traffic, so building a further 900 homes will make the situation much worse. Keep off the green belt sites and develop brownfield sites.
