This dog Teddy is being singled out and discriminated against because the authorities have not educated themselves regarding this dog's breed, therefore have labeled Teddy a Pit Bull which is a disgrace. This family is being punished and torn apart because of the authorities ignorance and the dog should be returned to the family NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because I had to put down a Mixed breed dog that I had adopted at 4 weeks old. I moved and she was unsettled with the noise and people yelling and carrying on that she was not use to and she attached some smaller dogs. It was a horrible time in my life and at the hearing no one would listen to my side of the story. They just judged that the dog was bad and I had to put her down or get rid of her. None of my friends or family would help me so I had no alternative. It broke my heart and I will never forget the look on her face when I left her at the pound. Never!

BSL IS A BAD LAW. It kills wonderful innocent dogs, shatters family's hearts, children are separated from a beloved pet. What is good about that? No bad dogs, just bad owners.

I have volunteered with the local humane society for a year, working with many dogs, including pit bulls. I had a discriminatory attitude toward pits myself, but have never encountered any that were anything but loving and enthusiastic. That being said, the dog in the photos does not resemble a pit bull. If you look at the muzzle and body type, they are distinctly different. Pits have much more snub faces and robust torsos than this dog. I don't believe in across-the-board euthanasia for any breed, but I think the authorities should be more educated on what they are dealing with, even if (especially if) there are banned breeds.

My daughter and I have a pit bull, he's very loyal and loving.
No dog should be put down. Let teddy go home to be with
his family. To me it looks like the 4 yr old needs her dog.

I have a 10 year old American Bulldog who looks just like teddy an she has been just perfect around kids an adults plus have resqued lots of these dogs an pit bulls NEVER NEVER had a problem with any whom i found good homes for they are so misunder stood that its not the dog but some of the wrong people who raise them I feel deeply for you Geoff Earl needs to pull his head out of his ass and spend time with one of these dogs because they are just great to be with.

1.It is wrong for a lay person, who has not conducted a genetic test, to just declare a dog to be a specific breed even though he does not look like a dreaded pit bull.
2. It is wrong to deprive a child of her close animal companion, even if it were the "wrong" breed.
3. It is wrong for JUST ONE ____ PERSON to have the power to override the opinion of several others.

This dog is obviously a mixed breed with no behavioral problems at all. This is dog racism. I have German Shepherds and they are sweet Hearts too. Do no kill this dog for his genetics. He looks like a black lab mix to me.
