Having a genuine NZAP force will create the right messages to New Zealand as a country, in terms of how we treat and respect animals.If implemented, more can be concentrated on 'prevention' and not just an ambulance at the bottom of the cliff as it is now under the SPCA body.
.MPI is a pathetic excuse of an overseer for enforcing animal
welfare and ensuring that all animals are protected from abuse and or unecessary suffering. MPI should NEVER have been given this role for farm animals especially, as it is a HUGE CONFLICT of INTEREST. WE NEED THESE CHANGES DESPERATELY. Come on N.Z Govt .. GROW UP and get with the programme and follow suit with what other countries are doing .. N.Z has become a FARCE when it comes to Animal Welfare.

I feel there is excessive cruelty to animals by farmers, Doc, tbfree and Ospri. No one should be exempt. If they are causing suffering they need to be prosecuted.

Animal abuse should be considered criminal and should be dealt with as such. Animal Control Officers have no powers.

I'm an animal lover and can't stand any cruelty to animals. We need more ability to enforce the law and remove animals from situations in which suffering and cruelty are present and from people who shouldn't be allowed to own them

I think New Zealand needs this. Animals don't have a voice but people do. There is so much abuse towards animals and they need help. Not only will this be helping thoose with out a voice but it will be providing more jobs for us!.
