I feel that the treatment that people with this diagnosis is inhumane and they should be told in the privacy of their own home and be given time before they discuss the options having to go to a public hospital possibly a distance to travel then having to face people and travel back home is disgusting and this needs to change and I feel honoured to be asked to sign this petition

I think this a very reasonable request, such news should not just be handed out in such an unfeeling way.

I strongly agree with that a person that has very bad results from a test that they should be told at home, as when you are in a traumatic state you could have an accident on the way home.

I hope the NHS will listen and make life better for future sufferers who receive there results which say they have cancer.

This is a very important point to make to Doctors. We all have friends or family members who have been given this news. We are HUMAN BEINGS WITH FEELINGS and should be treated with respect.

I too was allowed to drive some thirty miles after hearing the news that my husband had terminal cancer and had less than a year to live - he was only 49 yrs.I still don't know how I made that journey

Unfortunately nobody seems to question procedure. It is simply "It's the way we do it" and there are insufficient resources to contemplate such a discussion. You hit a brick wall. I know others in the same position who have also been kept waiting for many hours for blood test results, treatment etc. It is despicable that Amanda did not immediately see a professional who could help with the shock and devastation that the news caused. My heart goes out to her and many others and I will keep them all in my prayers. XX

A very worthwhile and necessary idea and very brave and giving of Amanda to find the time and energy to put this all together when her own health is in such jeopardy.
