Such a horrific tragedy. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the couple. Something needs to be done with this road too many lives are being ruined and those who cause it get a slapped wrist. This was no accident and death by dangerous driving is far too lenient, should be out right murder.

i use that spot myself with small grandchildren in the car quite often and it doe's need traffic lights on that spot

I think the traffic lights are well and truly needed. I don't understand why there isn't traffic lights on a road like this anyway.

Its appalling that another tragedy has happened on this dreadful road. Two young innocent people with their lives ripped away from them.
What more has to happen before they finally put lights in place?

I live close to the junction and have a two year old girl. I need to cross the road almost daily. It's a very busy road and crossing it can be dangerous. A crossing would remove this danger.

So sad for the loss of these young souls, the council are quick enough at putting speed cameras up all over the UK, but this is a life and death situation and is more important than trying to get money out of the public. (save lives and put in the traffic lights instead).

My Grandson goes to Springwood school and has to travel down Barton road across the East Lancashire road every school day Lights are needed as this is a really busy road.
