Katjibane Residents Demand Better Service Delivery

WE DEMAND BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Our village called Katjibane (WARD 27) is one of the most underdeveloped villages within DR JS MOROKA Municipality in Mpumalanga Province. It has been deserted since the commencement of democracy. We don’t have any government facility that caters our people; we travel to different places at all the times to access basic government facilities. 

We are therefore left with no choice, but to write this petition so that we can be assisted.

We are part of South Africa and we must benefit from government services.We therefore demand the following services from our own Provincial Government:

1.We demand Home affairs and SASSA site that can cater for our people without any hesitation and to stabilize the local economy.

2.We demand proper Water and Sanitation.

3.We demand that our clinic be upgraded to today’s standard and functionally operate for 24hrs.

4.We demand that Pungutsha Police Station be built as promised and start to function so as to minimize the existing crime and all illegal activities, e.g. NYAOPE sellers etc.  

5.We demand the community hall and sports areas that can capacitate community meetings, sports activities etc. it can't be right that all the times we are collided into taverns, trees for community engagements functions.

6.Lastly, what is paramount significant and urgent: the community of Katjibane reject the inferior 1KM Pavement subjected to us on a ticket of job creation. D935 Katjibane/Nokaneng road is a Provincial road; hence we can’t allow Pavement on a Provincial road. We all grasp that the 17Million given is from the office of the presidency for community development and job creation. Our motion is that, let this 1KM Pavement be taken to our local roads then will wait for 9.5KM Road. We fully reject it because we are not even certain that the budget that was allocated for the road is indeed taken back to COVID19 solidarity fund. Let this matter be open and transparent. It’s now almost 10 years been promised the Tar road and it was announced 6 years back live at Motsweding FM by Mayor Rhoda Mathabe that the budget is allocated and the contractor is appointed for that matter, but even today we are still waiting, and then BOOM 1KM pavement??? No we can’t allow that. Please note that failure to listen to this matter, the community will go and close the project. 

This is the clarion call from every resident to bring change and development for our village.  

A Safe community with reliable water and Proper roads is our right.
