I fully oppose any removal of trees along this section of the Navan Road for all the reasons as stated in the Submission letter. I would be directly impacted by this and strongly consider this would have a detrimental effect on residents and the wider community.

I am fully opposed to the removal of the trees and bI would agree that these trees and plants provide an important amenity to the existing adjacent dwellings, the local community and the wider resident community as a whole

Philip Coyne (12 Phoenix Gardens, Castleknock, Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

#5

I'm signing because I believe this be a subject matter that will materially impact, in a negative way, upon residents daily lives

Phelim O'Doherty (Phoenix Gardens Dublin, 2020-10-05)

The removal of these trees will have a very negative effect on our neighbourhood and I agree with the above letter and it’s contents.

John Wallace (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#7

I fully agree with the contents of this letter. The removal.of those trees is an absolute hazard to the hundreds of children that walk up and down that road daily to go to GAA. Cars drive at speed down the main dual carriageway despite speed limits...all that is needed is one car to lose control and a child will lose their life. The addition of a lane would add nothing as the existing old navan road is more than sufficient and is safer.

Elaine drennan (DUBLIN 15, 2020-10-05)

#14

I'm a resident of Castleknock Manor and will be directly impacted.

Christina Kelly (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#19

I agree with the contents of this letter that no trees should be removed between Auburn Avenue and Navan Road Parkway and that the cycle land and the footpath should be routed along the old Navan road from auburn avenue to the esso petrol station rather than along the side of the dual carriageway

William Patrick Prendergast (Castleknock, Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#23

My privacy and the security of my property will be seriously compromised.

Claire Doherty (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#31

My children are regular users of St Bridgets GAA club. They cycle to the club multiple times a week.

Paul Nunan (Castleknock, 2020-10-05)

#32

These trees provide safety for my children who attend St. Brigids GAA and should remain there

Aoifd Purcell (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#40

I live nearby and agree with the above points.

Hilary Murray (Castleknock, 2020-10-05)

I'm signing this petition as a member of the St Brigid's GAA club. My children attend training and matches five days per week. These trees and shrubbery provide safety from the busy road. They should not be removed.

Caragh Sugrue-Lynch (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

On behalf of Ashleigh Residents Association I wish to add our support to this petition

Gerry Fanning (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

#65

My children are members of St. Brigids club, they enjoy the safety barrier these trees offer from the main Navan road while approaching the club, and I strongly oppose their removal.

Ruth Galvin (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

I’m signing because as a local resident with a young family I can’t see the logic in removing the trees as per all the reasons detailed above. I would Feel quite strongly about this, it simply is a bizzare plan which does not take the local best interest into account.

Fergus Devlin (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#73

I’m signing because my children walk to GAA club on this road and it would not be safe for them if this road was widened.
Also we leave close to auburn green which is a very important amenity for the kids and I would be concerned about the safety of this children who play here if this road was widened.

Mairead Kennedy (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

#83

I’m signing because the trees provide an element of noise protection and I live close by the Navan Road

Dearbhla Brennan (Castleknock, 2020-10-05)

#88

.my objections are as set out in the above petition

Mary Carty (Castleknock dublin, 2020-10-05)

#94

I’m a local resident with kids and I cycle route to work and often kids in tow and would be a nightmare for safely not to mention increase traffic and loss of trees

Fiona Brennan (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#100

The trees make a significant contribution to the environment and reduction in noise coming from a very busy road

Therese Rusk (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

#102

I don’t agree with the idea of removing trees for a bus lane

Scarly McGahan (Cork, 2020-10-05)

#104

I feel there are other, better options than the one proposed.

Paul Murray (Dublin 15, 2020-10-05)

#109

I’m signing as I am a resident in Castleknock and a keen cyclist but this is preposterous idea to clear vegetation and trees. Terrible plan and idea and strongly condemn this decision!

Donal Lynch (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#112

The trees should absolutely not be removed. For so many reasons.

Emmet Browne (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#114

Im aigning because that part ofvthe old Navan road is a safe way for children to access the GAA club on foot and on bikes

Audrey Fitzpatrick (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#126

These trees provide necessary separation between the houses and a very busy dual carriageway

David Tolan (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#127

I’m signing because I believe this proposed development is not I. The best interests of residents in the surrounding areas.

Cathal O'Connor (Castleknock, 2020-10-05)

#129

Our children, and hundreds, of others walk down to St. Brigids GAA club regularly and the removal of trees would be a genuine concern for their safety. I also support all other points raised.

Martin Kennedy (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#135

Removal of these trees and shrubs would have a serious negative impact on the the quality of life for residents in Pecks Lane, Phoenix Estate and Castleknock Manor. It would also be very detrimental to wildlife.

Martin Sneyd (Dublin, 2020-10-05)

#141

The trees provide an important barrier (noise and visual) that should not be removed. Those making the suggestion clearly do not live locally or use that stretch of road. This change provides no benefit to those locally and for those cycling, we already cycle on the Old Navan road away from the Dual Carriageway.

Caitriona Murphy (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#150

Many children use this road to st brigids and bringing dusk carriageway traffic in there is dangerous and unpleasant. Our buses are mostly empty. Why would we want to invest in increasing public transport at a time when it isn’t safe to use with covid and we are heading towards 250billion in debt as a nation. Do you want the IMF in to run the country next year ?

Mark Garry (Castleknock, 2020-10-06)

#159

I live near Auburn avenue. The old Navan road with tree border is an important sound and safety barrier between our community with many young families and schools and an increasingly busy N3.

Martin Conway (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#160

Stripping away these tree’s open up a community to a major motorway and I’d have numerous environmental and safety concerns

Paul OFarrell (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#163

Removal of those trees would be completely unnecessary vandalism.

Paul Shine (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#165

I am a concerned parent who feels strongly who feels these trees need to stay as a shield from the busy dual carriageway.

Clare Bradshaw (Castleknock, 2020-10-06)

#172

No need to remove the trees.

Brid Ryan (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#183

The trees are a noise barrier and also safety element for kids going to GAA.

Removal of these trees is a senseless and selfish act not taking thought to the local community

Sinead OConnor (Dublin, 2020-10-06)

#194

We totally object to the removal of the trees and shrubbery on the old Navan road . We live close and that belt is a noise barrier.

Teresa & Charles O Connor (The pines Castleknock Dublin 15, 2020-10-06)

#199

I disagree with the removal of trees & shrubbery as it will have a negative visual & audible effect on the area off Pecks Lane.
