I'm opposed to commercial businesses in residential neighborhoods, to the placement of this business on a private street, and to the unsafe location at the intersection of Douglas Blvd.Debra Gordon (Granite Bay, 2020-05-17)

I support to continuance of the rural setting of Granite Bay. I have been a property owner in Granite Bay for 46 years and a resident for 43 years. I am oppose to commercial endeavors that are not in our Community Plan.Gloria Radmore (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I am signing because huge residential care facilities should not be allowed in residential neighborhoods. They are incompatible, we have more than enough in Granite Bay.Cheryl Berkema (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I live one block away and believe not only is the proposal unsafe, it will increase traffic and is not appropriate for the neighborhood.Vasiliki Karras (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I am signing this petition because this proposed commercial project is in direct conflict with the first goal of the Granite Bay Community Plan Chapter 3 Zoning which states "Preserve the unique character of the Granite Bay area which is exemplified by the general rural environment, oak woodlands, mix of land uses and densities, and high quality of development."Gordon Wellington (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I'm signing this petition because this is a narrow rural PRIVATE street with a single access point off Douglas Boulevard. There is absolutely no room for any overflow parking along this street. Opposing cars already have to slow to a crawl to pass to ensure safe passage by both vehicles. Exiting Arabian Circle is already hazardous due to the extensive traffic on Douglas, limited visibility and is further complicated with additional cars exiting Dover Drive and turning left and/or residents from Granite Cove Drive who are u-turning at the Arabian Circle access median. This street is a treasured rural neighborhood, please do not allow a sizeable commercial operation to be built and operate as that was NOT within the allowable use/zoning when they purchased this property in 2016. This is absolutely an improper location for such a facility.Stephanie Gentry (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This is NOT condusive to the community and is only a grab for profits from a greedy developer.Shawn Doyle (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I strongly oppose allowing a commercial enterprise to be built in a private rural residential neighborhood contrary to Granite Bay’s Community Plan. This represents further degradation of another bucolic Granite Bay neighborhood.Bob Befort (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This project is inappropriate for this neighborhood. Granite Bay already has too many senior complexes, per capita. I’ve lived in Granite Bay for 50+ years, and the endless requests for inappropriately zoned facilities has become ridiculous.Lia Walther (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

Tired of Douglas corridor being built up. Too many accidents at high speedJulie Schell (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This is a totally inappropriate location for this facility. The road access is inadequate and unsafe for a facility housing high risk patientsDenise Sweeney (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)
#38
This project will increase traffic issues at the intersection, has limited parking that will overflow into neighborhood served by a private road. Maintenance and delivery trucks will block roads and elevate the noise levels, and so much more. Please support our fight os the commercialization of our rural community.Bruce Broadwater (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I'm opposed to this project because this is a narrow, rural, private and peaceful street with a single access point off Douglas Boulevard. This will create an unsafe exit onto Douglas and is completely inappropriate for our area. These rural neighborhoods are what make Granite Bay a special place to live and we need to protect them. Please listen to the homeowners and residents and block this plan. There are more than enough of these types of care facilities in our area.Paula Wolfe (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

Slow down developments. Douglas too busy already!Elizabeth Lummis (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This development is inappropriate for a residential area. It is time to stop making so many exceptions to the general plan. Unfortunately, residents of our district keep voting in a pro development Supervisor. There is little hope in maintaining the rural character of Granite Bay unless Kirk Uhler is replaced with an effective leader that will work hard to uphold the general plan. Kirk Uhlers pro business bias will continue to destroy the wonderful character of Granite Bay until one day the transformation will be complete when our town is officially renamed Roseville East!Michael Downs (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

We appreciate the quiet neighborhood and want limits on how many Home Care Facilities are built in Granite Bay which seem to be popping up all over town these past few years.Joanne Allison (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

The Granite Bay Community Plan is being ignored and violated by Placer County. Goal 9. “Ensure that new infill construction or substantial expansion of an existing home in an existing neighborhood is compatible in form , massing, height, set-backs, lot coverage, building materials, design and orientation and positively contributes to the existing neighborhood context.”This goal was to protect neighbors from what is presently occurring in this project. This development will negatively effect the neighborhood.Vote no and respect our GBCP and the neighbors. Thank You, Jane NegriJane Negri (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This project is inappropriate for a residential neighborhood in terms of size. If the owner wants more beds the owner should buy another home to increase the size of their home card business.Jeff keith (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I do not think commercial enterprises should be imbedded in residential neighborhoods. Care homes like this will have higher incidents involving emergency vehicles and sirens which disrupt neighbors.Greg Mcintosh (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

As a resident of Granite Bay, and one that lives on the Douglas corridor, I'm concerned about what our rural community is turning into. Douglas is busy enough as it is, adding more businesses to the area will compound the traffic problems. Taking an existing home and demolishing it to build a Skilled Nursing Facility (SKF) is first and foremost against our Granite Bay community plan and also just an extremely large waste.I actually looked at purchasing this particular property in question before finally buying one off Berg. This Arabian Circle home has a lot of charm and character that a horse owner or small farmer would love to own. And instead someone bought this home to essential tear down, in the hopes that they could get it rezoned with the way our current leaders are handing out rezoning left and right.
I'm also directly affected by the "medical" offices going in on the NE corner of Berg and Douglas; I share the noise abutment wall with the property. The builders received that rezoning after I purchased my home. The amount of construction noise and dust is extremely problematic for us. Our cars, pool, solar panels, everything inside are all extremely dusty nonstop. Our 2 kids (with 1 on the way) can't play outside on their trampoline and swing without getting dusty. Anyway, it's extremely invasive, and this Arabian Circle property would be the same way for those residents near this proposed rezone and SKF.
As a runner and mountain biker, I'm often running/riding down Douglas to access the lake trails and could not imagine another business bringing more traffic and taking away from the rural look and feel of our community.
Rezoning this beautiful, charming, quaint home, with a nice pool and barn, and turning it into a SKF, would be a major shame. Let's keep our existing viable structures in place and not rezone our living space away!
Thank you,
Chris Petterson (Cameron Creek Ct)

I do not want to lose the character of this lovely area by allowing more large scale commercial structures in a rural residential neighborhood. It is already challenging to get in and out if Arabian Circle from the vet clinic. This would just be overwhelming!!Liz Hurst (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

I’m signing because this is a Violation of the granite bay community plan. It is not in accordance of the placer county guidelines posted on the county website. The Douglas blvd traffic is already a nightmare and dangerous to drive into and out of the small residential streets. Arabian circle is a rural area and not designed for this type of development. In accordance with the rural guidelines posted on placer county website, this development does not meet criteria and is not beneficial to the community.Cindy Prather (Granite Bay, 2020-05-18)

This is a residential area that has a very small road. It is a quite neighborhood that has very little traffic. This will increase traffic on Douglas Blvd and slow others down with staff, visitors, construction equipment and Fire dept services. This will change the appearance of this established country neighborhood to a commercial type appearance. There are many other places in the South Placer area that would be a more appropriate location. Granite Bay is being gobbled up by commercial buildings. Look at what a mess Douglas is now. Granite Bay is loosing its charm. How many more geriatric facilities do we need. Let the residents of Arabian Circle live in price. That is why they pay the price they pay to live there. This facility will not enhance the property value of the Arabian Circle. Please do not sell out that neighborhood for increased taxes. Let’s face it, the only reason this residentially zone property is being considered or approved is tax revenues.Pete Gallegos (granite bay, 2020-05-19)
