Ward 97, has not only been affected by Loadshedding, but extended outages after Loadshedding due to no maintenance on our infrastructure, as well as weekly cable theft. The high cost of living does not allow us to throw away our food, but we are left with no choice because of these outages, and we receive absolutely NO compensation. This goes against our human rights, and is completely unacceptable! Changes need to be made.

An exemption in light of all the vandalism, theft and outage we have faced for years is barely suffice to make up for the damages to peoples lives and income. When you factor in the Block 5 has missed 18 sessions of loadshedding in 2024 ALONE it makes you wonder why we can't be exempt.

I am worried about all the ill people who need electricity for their oxygen, fridge for their insulin etc. I also cannot keep destroying food that has gone bad (R1500 meat, R1600 meat, R700 frozen veg as an example) I am a pensioner and cannot afford this wastage!

I live in Wilgeheuwel, have been paying for water and electricity since 1993. I have never defaulted. For the last 2 years the population explosion in Wilgeheuwel has been astronomical. No new infrastructure. The Sub stations feeding this community cannot cope and after Loadshedding we continually trip or the cables are stolen. We need an exception from Loadshedding until such time as new sub stations and aluminium cables are installed.

We are sick and tired of having no power for twelve hours and more while it seems as if City Power has only one team who has to attend to all the different outages in various areas in Roodepoort, according to all their messages, which is beyond pathetic. Please exempt our areas from loadshedding. It is time that City Power takes full responsibility for their poor repairs and services and get more professional teams to do the work.
