#680

I'm signing because I remember that horrible incident and what happened to to that poor child and I was his age at the time and I think the garda killed him its happened before and I certainly believe that the guards in Store Street Garda Station killed Terence Wheelock as they arrested him for a bike that he was supposed to have stolen but it wasn't stolen at all.
Also there's way too many cover ups in the Store Street Garda Station.
Why didn't the family get him clothes after his death, why wasn't forensics not brought in to test the cell he supposedly had committed suicide in (Not a chance did that happen).
It has crushed his family for 15 years and will forever and its also brought a lot of aminosity between the area and the garda as people lost faith in the Garda.
Just because we are in a disadvantaged area that doesn't mean that we are not the same as the people who live in Foxrock, Castleknock Sandymount or Dalkey.
We are human beings and deserve the same treatment, manners and kindness.
I would like to add my sympathy to all of the Wheelock family and extended family and friends.

Lindsay Spencer (Dublin, 2020-11-21)

#681

I think it's really important that police don't have impunity for crimes and abuse. I hope that Terence's family find the truth about what happened to him and see justice done. I would like to those responsible for Terence's death and everyone involved in covering it up see consequences for their actions so that these things don't keep happening.

I heard about your son's case through a true crime podcast and it is truly shocking. It must be hard enough to lose a child, never mind have him murdered by guards and then covered up.
