my mum was from Taranaki and disabled children should be able to continue conductive education in this regionKahurangi Hippolite (Nelson, 2020-08-05)

I’m signing this petition because I have been down this road and know from personal experience how important conductive education is for these Kids and the minimal provision of services available through the DHB is futile to the detriment of the child. MOH would be better to cut DHB funding to provide this service quarterly and put that funding toward a proper facility where these kids/parents can access regular input. This is crucial to tgeir developmentSandy Campbell (New Plymouth, 2020-08-05)
#723
I’m signing this petition as I don’t think that children with disabilities in Taranaki get a fair deal compared with other regions. The children that attend Conductive Education Taranaki need this centre and there are many more who would benefit hugely as well as their families.Emma Crofskey (New Plymouth, 2020-08-06)

I am a physio that over the last 20 years has watched the Conductive Education team achieve fantastic physical and cognitive outcomes with kids with disabilites. It is just not acceptable for parents to have to drive their children out of their districts to get this service.Gillian O'Connell (New Plymouth, 2020-08-06)

I was a founding member of the conductive education trust in Hamilton in the 1990's and was also an executive committee member on the trustboard. My grandson was born with cerabal palsy and without the establishment of this organisation there was limited resources available to assist families with support and education of these children. My grandson is now 32 yrs old.Joyce Williams (Hamilton, 2020-08-06)

Conductive Education is a powerful avenue for children with additional needs to join an ECE programme that provides for their typical, age appropriate needs while also providing intensive therapy for their physical and developmental needs. The burden of funding and fundraising this should not be left to the families.Jo Chiet (Whanganui, 2020-08-06)

It’s ludicrous to think that the kids who desperately need this service might not have access to it and never reach the potential they should have the right to achieve. Yet the government can throw millions of dollars at funding other businesses that don’t affect the life and health of a child.Dee Baker (New Plymouth, 2020-08-07)

My grandson benefits greatly from this service. There is nothing similar currently available in Taranaki that is health funded. It meets the needs of so many children with specific motor and development needs. I watch my daughter in law involved in ongoing fund raising which is not sustainable.Jennifer Crofskey (New Plymouth, 2020-08-07)
