I'm signing because a person has the right to protect their property. If someone is on your property illegally a watchdog should Ve able to protect that property.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7604

The dog was doing his job and the so called person who was bitten should not have been in the back yard in the first place, that is why we have a fence and gate to keep people out and pets in.

(nsw, 2017-09-14)

#7606

intruder gets bitten by dog doing its job , you want to destroy dog , how wrong can you be , seriously , punish the intruder not the bloody dog

(adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#7611

Please let this family keep there pet, this is very sad and wrong

(Wollongong, 2017-09-14)

#7613

This dog was protecting the property.. if someone enters the property without permission from owner then they enter at own risk.. has this person been charged from trespassing.. my bet is he hasnt.. wheres our right as owners to protect ourselves family and property..

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7614

Winston needs to be home with his family. The intruder that was entering someone else's property is the criminal.

(Kellerberrin, 2017-09-14)

#7616

This is a family dog that was only protecting its family its wrong to takes it life please return this dog home

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7617

I think this is wrong one if someone come into your property then the dog should bite the intruder

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7618

I feel this is wrong on so many levels why should the dog be put down because some ass hole broke into the property the dog was doing his job protecting his yard and family if any one is to be put down should be the person who broke into the property

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7622

Please save him, he doesn't deserve to die!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7623

The burglar was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing. Winston was in his place, enjoying his own time, and ended up having to protect his family from an intruder. This current trend of protecting the perpetrator is 100% bs and must be stopped.

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#7625

All animals have the right to protect their owners and homes. This is disgusting.

(Stevenage, 2017-09-14)

#7627

How can anyone fine the owner of the dog, & want to put the dog down when it was doing its hob of protecting its back yard. To my belief, people are allowed access to walk up to your front door to knock, but your back yard is off limits by law for reasons of having animals that may attack. The only person who needs fining in this debacle is the person trespassing on the property by sneaking into the backyard for obvious dubious reasons, but fortunately got caught by this very switched on protective dog! If he hadn't tried to break & enter, there never would have been a problem, so fine him...no-one else, & leave this wonderful dog alone!!!

(Burpengary, 2017-09-14)

#7630

This knd of Bureaucratic Bullshit absolutely disgusts me!!
We Pay our Mortgage; Pay our Rates; Pay our Insurance.. because we are ultimately responsible for.Our Home, Our Bills; Our Healthcare: It is ridiculous to me, that the Family Dog is the only real security I have, cause no one else is protecting us.....
Hell No, let's .fine him, and take away the only real protection this Family ever really required!! & Our rights?? Pfft!!t
WHAT A CROCK!!!

(BRISBANE, 2017-09-14)

#7633

If this happened on the street that would be different, however if someone came on my property in the middle of the night I would expect my dog to protect me. Innocent until proven guilty.

(Brighton, 2017-09-14)

#7634

This dog should NOT be put to sleep for protecting it's home and family. Absolutely ludicrous!! What is this world coming to??? The only thing that should be punished is the intruder.... Derrr!! Where is the common sense. Cleary the council has none!!!!!!!!!!

(Toowoomba, 2017-09-14)

#7638

This is absolutely wrong!!! A family pet protecting his family and property!!! Doing the one thing we all would do- PROTECT OUR FAMILY!!

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#7639

I am signing this petition because of the unfairness of this whole incident. Most people with dogs hope that if anyone tries to break into our homes our dog will protect us. Since when have we praised the perpetrator of a break in offence and then kill the protector. I am speechless.

(Goulburn NSW 2580, 2017-09-14)

#7640

The dog was doing an effective job deterring a thief would the children been safe the intruder could have been a pedifile

(Rockhampton, 2017-09-14)

#7643

You ppl in Mackay are bonkers for wanting to put down a family pet for attacking and intruder..seriously! Intruder is illegally on property so should have no rights...

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7646

The dog shouldn't be punished for protecting his home from a stranger entering the house in the middle of the night. We should focus on shh the stranger had entered onto the property in the first place. By entering the property illegally dog behaviour is clearly justified

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7647

Winston was only protecting his family and his world. This low life intruder was trespassing which is against the law. If a police dog did the same as Winston would he be locked up and waiting prosecution. I think not, his world would not change.
Free Winston and send him back to his loving family.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#7649

The dog was doing his job. The people were trespassing.

(Ontario, 2017-09-14)

#7650

If someone was to jump my fence i would expect my dogs to do the same thing. All they are doing is protecting their family just as we do for them their our fur baby's.this dose not mean that the dog dangerous, dangerous dogs will attack anyone, anything, this dog protecting its family in this day and age is a hero

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7651

This is a beautiful dog protecting his family put the intruder doen the laws have to change

(Gosford, 2017-09-14)

#7653

This dog does not deserve to die. Please don't put it down.

(Morwell, 2017-09-14)

#7654

This is bullshit....this dog was protecting its family

(Talbot, 2017-09-14)

#7655

This dog was doing his job!! DO NOT destroy him for doing what he loved and took pride in doing - he is innocent!

(Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, 2017-09-14)

#7657

This dog was doing his job protecting his family. The person involved is in the wrong and should be charged with trespassing. Free Wilson!

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7660

This dog was protecting his home and loved ones...what is this council doing? these dogs are so smart and have the most loving nature, this should not happen!..

(Toowoomba, 2017-09-14)

#7662

You trespass take the consequences. The dog was doing his job

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#7663

the dog was protecting the property the intruder got what he deserved

(noraville, 2017-09-14)

#7669

The dog was protecting his family and territory. The person who came into the yard at that time of night was obviously up to no good. So why punish the dog! He should be praised not killed.

(Minto, 2017-09-14)

#7670

He was protecting his family and home...he should be praised not threatened to be put down. Shame on you mackay council.

(Gympie, 2017-09-14)

#7671

He was protecting his family

(Tweed heads, 2017-09-14)

#7672

Winston deserves to be allowed to return to his family. The dirty trespassing fiend needs proof, besides why the hell was he even on private property!

(Bunbury, 2017-09-14)

#7675

This is shocking people should be allowed to have a dog for protection especially when someone has illegally entered a premise.

(Calliope, 2017-09-14)

#7680

Winston should be allowed to protect his own yard.. #FreeWinston

(Cairns, 2017-09-14)

(Sandy Beach, 2017-09-14)

#7685

This beautiful dog did nothing wrong.

(LITTLE MOUNTAIN, 2017-09-14)

#7687

If the Council put this awesome dog down there will be a major uproar. Wins to. Was protecting his home and owners. He needs a medal the little bastard who got bitten, he should pay the fine for trespassing and intending to steal. What happens to him.

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7688

this is not right, winston did the right thing.give him back to his family.he save them.he should get a medal .

(winn, 2017-09-14)

#7691

Iam aogning this petition because it was someokne who broke into the house thats what dogs do no protect the property if somekne was to break into my house with dog warning signs would u put down my dog.?

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7693

I believed dogs are allowed to do there job protection of his family is his first priorities not any neighborhood should be able to report this as fact if their not involved in some way best of luck

(Existed, 2017-09-14)

#7695

Winston was only protecting his famoly and obviously the man was not known to him when he entered the ysrd at night. Shame on the Council saying they don't need proof... so they take the word of a ' trespasser'. What happen if that trespasser had other intentions like assaulting a sleeping a child. Winston protected his family against what could've being a protential assault, rape etc. Save Winston.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7697

The dog done his job and protected what was his. How about put the intruder down instead.

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#7699

That dog needs to go home

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7700

I'm signing because the dog had a right to go after a stranger who was on its owners land. No one should have the right to be on someone else's property without the owner's knowledge. The person should be locked up for trespassing!

(Elkland, 2017-09-14)

#7703

A dog should not be put down for protecting its family

(Baldivis, 2017-09-14)

#7704

Whats happening to him is not fair!

(Glasgow, 2017-09-14)

#7705

I am totally opposed to Council killing family pets because it was defending its territory in the middle of the night.

(Bundaberg, 2017-09-14)

#7712

It is just wrong to take the family pet away without proof. Shame on the council

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7714

The dog was just doing his job protecting his owners. What was this person doing on the property without permission???

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7718

The dog was protecting his property !! why should he be punished for that !!! this is a family pet !! the person should not be in the property !!

(Newcastle, 2017-09-14)

#7722

This is ridiculous - since when does a criminal have more rights than the victims here? The family and the dog have been violated twice. The dog did his job if he did bite the person robbing them - and is there any proof of this alleged bite? Just stop this stupidity and leave the dog and the family alone

(Cornwall, 2017-09-14)

#7726

If we cant have dogs to protect our property why do we get discounts from insurance companies for having guard dog these dogs become our family as soon as they do the job they are their for they get put down ...SO WRONG!!

(Magnetic island, 2017-09-14)

#7741

This is a disgrace, police dogs attack, criminals and get rewarded, our loyal friends are protect the ones they love and the home, that is not a crime that is loyalty to us...change this law to protect the innocent and punish the real criminals....check the law it is out dated!
