I'm signing because this innocent dog doesn't deserve to be put to sleep just because some power tripping council worker wants to throw his/her power around with NO PROOF, and crush this family..

(Roma, 2017-09-14)

#7403

The intruder got what he deserved. This dog was protecting his home and occupants. This boy should be saved and handed back to his owners. This is not only disgusting it is distressing for the owners that might lose their loved dog.

(Lalor Park NSwW, 2017-09-14)

#7404

this dog was doing its job. Charge the person trespassing, the dog is a hero.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7405

the dog was only protecting his family which i think is wonderful ,and this is the thanks this poor dog gets no way what if something bad happened to the family hmmmmmmm

(queensland , 2017-09-14)

#7406

I'm signing this because it is crazy to think that an intruder of a family home can have the right to make a claim and then the council to put down a family pet. That is not Australian.

(Noosa,, 2017-09-14)

#7407

The dog was on his own property it was the middle of the night. The intruder was a stranger had no right there. The dog was protecting his master and his home. Anyone knows you do not enter the property of someone else in the middle of the night especially if they have a dog. This person got what he deserved. The dog was doing his job. Leave him alone.

(Malanda, 2017-09-14)

#7409

it could happen to any of us... if the idiot comes into a yard with a dog they run the risk of getting bitten.. what happened if he didnt and the guy killed the family or children do we put the man down? no! so why are we putting a beloved pet down for defending its family?

(BRISBANE, 2017-09-14)

#7410

the dog did his job

(INGHAM, 2017-09-14)

#7411

Winston was only protecting his family

(Windaroo, 2017-09-14)

#7412

that is the nature of the dog, and since we no longer are allowed to keep weapons, to rid of intruders, I think dogs should attack when the family are treatened

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7413

Mackay City Council is completely out of control when managing issues if any animals in Mackay at the pound and with complaints against animals. They believe that they are a law that answers to nobody and will do what ever they want.

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7415

Winston must be treated fairly and impartially.

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7416

This is a joke. Why not charge the scum for trying to break into the property?

(Gosford, 2017-09-14)

#7417

Release this poor family pet immediately, what a travesty of Justice, this person was trespassing on private property & the family pet was protecting his family. Most dogs will defend their home & family against a stranger coming into THEIR BACKYARD in the middle of the night, but this is all circumstantial evidence anyway, the dog owner will not always be liable for a dog attack or bite. The owner is unlikely to be found guilty of an offence or to be held liable to pay compensation if, before an attack:

A dog is being teased, abused or is assaulted by the person the dog then attacks;
a person known to the dog is being attacked in front of it;
OR the person injured by the dog is TRESPASSING on the premises on which the dog is kept; or
another animal comes onto the premises on which the dog is kept.
Come on Council wake up & release this dog!

(Rutherford , 2017-09-14)

#7418

This dog was doing his job protecting the family's property . He in his own yard not wandering the streets and the intruders had no business being in the yard

(Caboolture, 2017-09-14)

#7419

this is not right the dog was defending its family home from an intruder. put the low life intruder down .

(darwin, 2017-09-14)

#7420

I am sick and tired of police, councils, and courts, turning their backs on the public, to defend the rights of criminals. Are we supposed to just let an intruder in and say, here take my stuff, because I know the police take forever to get there. You have a dog who is obviously going to protect their territory, and now he is taken because he did exactly that because some thug criminal trespassed on someone elses property. What a joke.

(CABOOLTURE, 2017-09-14)

#7421

This is absolute madness! The dog was doing his duty to protect his family! Please let common sense prevail. The 'injured' person was an intruder!!! Intrude on someone's property (probably with a view to committing a crime) and you can expect to lose your 'right' to do whatever you damn well like!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7423

This is wrong & owner should not be liable as person was trespassing in the middle of the night. Dog was doing his job so do yours NOW!

(Rutherford , 2017-09-14)

#7428

Any dog who defends their yard by an intruder should not be punished. What's the point of having dogs if they can't defend their home

(Albury, 2017-09-14)

#7429

Anyone entering someone else's property in the middle of the night is suspicious. The dog was just defending its property

(Freshwater , 2017-09-14)

#7430

This is ridiculous.. No proof, power hungry individuals few they are above everyone else.. You are opening up doors for false reports and it is disgusting you think that's ok

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#7431

The dog was protecting his owner. The dog is a hero. Set him free. So many home invasions, we should have the right to protect ourselves.

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#7435

The dog was protecting his property, that is what dogs are supposed to do. The intruder was in the wrong...if one of them is going to be put down do it to the intruder as he should not have been there in the first place. The dog was doing his job!

(Orange, 2017-09-14)

#7438

JUSTICE FOR WINSTON!!!

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7439

Killing this little guy doesnt solve anything! Save him. Dogs are loving and protective. Sensing lota of love, cuddles ans kisses his way

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7440

This dog is a pet and he was protecting his family that he loves. The council pounds are always saying a dog is savage or vicious. How would you feel if someone is coming at you with a big chain. They are petrified. Return this dog to his beautiful family. Its about saving animals not euthanising them

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7441

he was just doing his job, if you enter someone's yard uninvited and not in some sort of official capacity then you take that risk.

(Mandurah, 2017-09-14)

#7443

anne brady

(mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7444

I thought we had a dog for protection. If that guy was sneaking around their property at night he was up to no good. They should sue him and the Council for damages against them. He could have hurt or stolen from them. The dog was using self defence and protecting his family. Councillors your bloody incompetent!

(Deeragun, 2017-09-14)

#7445

How can you destroy a dog that is protecting its property. Of course a thief would lie about an incident.

(Munruben , 2017-09-14)

#7446

Im signing be ause you need to free Winston he was protective of his family, please let him live out his life with hos loved ones.

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7447

I'm signing this petition because it isn't fare that a dog is being put to sleep with out evidence the dog even did anything to anyone. This happens to way to many innocent dogs and it need to stop

(4815, 2017-09-14)

#7448

Dog's should not be murdered for protecting their family and property.

(Langwarrin, 2017-09-14)

#7454

why should this dog be put down for protecting his family and his home.you numb nuts need to stop and rethink about his kinda crap before doing anything like this. this is bull shit. the***** wit should not be breaking the the law in the first place breaking into peoples homes. he deserves everything he gets.this dog was only doing what he is meant to do. protecting what is his. that is his home and family.so on this note ill ask the people who makes these choices.IF YOUR DOG DID WHAT THIS DOG DID PROTECTING YOUR HOME AND FAMILY FROM SOME ONE BREAKING IN TO YOUR HOME BREAKING THE LAW IN THE FIRST PLACE WOULD YOU WANT YOUR DOG PUT DOWN YES OR NO ?

(colac, 2017-09-14)

#7455

Dogs are family and should not be punished for protecting those they love.

(Gracemere, 2017-09-14)

#7456

The dog was doing it's job...

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7459

a dog should not be put down for guarding his yard

(Mackay , 2017-09-14)

#7460

It is wrong to kill a dog for protecting his family on their property. The dog was doing his job. If the intruder had not trespassed, the dog would have had no reason to move into protection mode. Additionally, it's irrelevant if the dog bit the trespasser or not- The chap had no business being on private property without an invitation, which if given, would have meant he would have been met at the gate by the owner, thereby showing the dog all was well.

(Euroa, Victoria, 2017-09-14)

#7461

No dod deserves to die for protecting its owner Pets are family

(Sydney , 2017-09-14)

#7463

This is just ludicrous and an outrage from typical council!

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7465

The dog was restrained within his own property and the intruders where illeagally there. The dog isnt a danger to the public.

(Morwell, 2017-09-14)

#7466

This family deserves to be able to fight for the pet they obviously love.

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7469

Surely animals have a right to a fair trial :(

(Regency Downs, 2017-09-14)

#7470

i find it shocking that a dog protecting his property from an intruder is locked up to be put down, his instinct is to protect his love ones, put the intruder away, this poor dog please save him...

(coolum, 2017-09-14)

#7471

Winston was protecting his home

(Sydney , 2017-09-14)

#7475

This is outrageous that any council should do this. Utterly disgusting & shameful.. !!
That person who was bitten was trespassing & the simple fact of the matter is that trespasser had no right to be on that private property & had they not been trespassing they would NOT have been bitten by the family protecting dog...
If anything the idiot who was bitten should be paying damages & vet bills to have the poor dog assessed & treated for possibly ingesting meth or whatever the intruder was on...

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#7477

You know why.

(Cairns , 2017-09-14)

#7479

I'm signing this petition to save Winston because he was only doing what any dog would do! Protect their home an family! If you can kill a dog because it was defending his territory, why don't you petition to have pedophiles killed?!
SAVE WINSTON!

(Chambers Flat , 2017-09-14)

#7480

Its not the dogs fault. The intruder should have not gone into the property..

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7481

The local councils need hauling over the coals and be answerable to their stupid idiotic rules.
Winston was protecting the family against a piece of shit human, like we would.
A dog is family and not expendable because council wants to try and play god..

(Griffith, 2017-09-14)

#7485

Get a lawyer! Will go lots better.

#7488

The furbaby was protecting family. That is what they do. Let the poor dog go back with family

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#7489

This is so wrong.

(4740, 2017-09-14)

#7494

The person who was bitten was in someone elses yard in the middle of the night uninvited. The dog thwarted an intruder who was obviously there for theft or buglary. The dog protected this family.

(Marayong, 2017-09-14)

#7496

I expect my dogs will protect my family. Dogs bite intruders - we own dogs to love as part of our family and to PROTECT US FROM INTRUDERS AND NASTY PEOPLE.
Whoever allows this dreadful act of murdering a loving family member may you live with guilt ALL YOUR LIFE.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7497

Bureaucracy gone mad.

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7499

An intruder came onto private property in the middle of the night. The dog allegedly bit the intruder. The home owner has had to pay $1500 in fines. The intruder complained about the dog to the council and now the council will be putting the poor dog to sleep. This is a loving family dog. The council said they do not have to prove the dog actually bit the intruder. This is just so wrong. Please sign and share

(St Agnes, 2017-09-14)

#7501

This poor innocent dog !!!!

(Caloundra , 2017-09-14)

#7502

please free winston

(adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#7505

Seizing Winston is simply wrong he was protecting his family, plain and simple. The question needs to be asked what was the individual who complained to council doing in Winston's yard in the middle of the night

(Bundaberg, 2017-09-14)

#7508

This is very wrong to murder a dog protecting his family and property from a intruder. A police dog would do the same thing but you wouldn't kill him. Wake up to yourself.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-14)

#7511

The dog allegedly bit an intruder ! Give it a medal and a steak for protecting it's family not a death sentence you disgusting pricks. Also name and shame the vet that administers the death so that they can be hounded into bankruptcy.

(Athelstone, 2017-09-14)

#7512

Your have a dog to protect your family and home. If I dog bites an intruder I do not see the problem, that is a dog doing it's job.

(Woodford, 2017-09-14)

#7514

This dog was in his own property doing his job. But most of all who did the dog bite?? Where is the prof that they where bitten? Hospital report or photos. And what was this person doing on some else's property as they need to be prosecuted for trespassing. free this dog now

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7515

If an intruder comes on to your property or breaks in the dog is protecting his family it makes me sick that the dog is know as the criminal and not the one who was intruding on the property. Please Free Winston

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7517

there is not enough concrete evidence in this story. ethically wrong to take a life like this.

(murwillumbah, 2017-09-14)

#7525

Because the laws are a joke, lock up the real criminals, don't push the innocent

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7527

I have 8 dogs and I have to be careful and responsible but if someone chooses to trespass at night I would hope my chihuahuas would chase them off, your dog was just doing his job, protecting his family

(Mandurama, 2017-09-14)

#7528

Council must be required to provide proof to put someone pet down and cause the pet owners grief

(Edgeworth, 2017-09-14)

#7532

Winston was doing what comes naturally, that is protecting the home and his family. If the intruder was not there he wouldn't have been bitten. Simple really, my side of the fence, tough cookies if you get bit! STAY OUT IF YOU DON'T BELONG THERE! Wishing all the best to Winston and his extended family.

(Rockingham , 2017-09-14)

#7534

Its not fair their family pet was on their property, secured where he was supposed to be. The intruder chose to enter the house and is a criminal, the dog was guarding his home. How is this justfied to take him to be put down?

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7538

The dog Winston was doing his job, protecting the family.... The human shouldn't have been there in the first place...so WHAT ???was he doing AH??? PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!!!
LET WINSTON GO can't punish a dog and his family for the "poor'intruder being fended off.... get a band aid you big woss.

(Worongary, 2017-09-14)

#7539

It was after hours when a dog is free to roam its own yard.. The supposed victim had no right to be there. The dog is not at fault it was protecting its home/family.

(Bright view, 2017-09-14)

#7540

Apparently this dog was protecting his family

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7542

this is bullshit, if some a hole comes onto private property without consent and gets bitten by a dog its their own feckin fault, not only should the dog be reprieved, the intruder should pay restitution to the owner and all court costs and associated council fees and a penalty for causing the owner distress, and the law should be changed so this type of bullshit doesnt happen again.

(Cremorne, 2017-09-14)

#7545

No dog deserves to die for protecting their own home/yard!

(Morayfield , 2017-09-14)

#7546

The dog deserves to be treated fairly, living dog protecting his people
He did not jump the fence
Persue the intruder

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7549

Someone "injured" in the act of committing a crime, should have no protection under the law. It's ridiculous that a trespasser should be allowed to take action against an effective security measure. Give the dog a medal, not a needle!

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7552

I'm signing this petition because it's time we the people have some chance to protect our family and our homes and not have our pets taken from us for helping defend these things while we sleep. It's time the criminals were treated like criminals and dealt with in an appropriate manner. Free Winston

(Mackay, 2017-09-14)

#7556

What else would the dog do but defend his family and property - total bullshit by these numpties

(Kalgoorlie, 2017-09-14)

#7557

This dog needs justice not death

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#7559

I believe 100% that this dog is in the right for protecting his family

(Wangaratta, 2017-09-14)

#7560

Intruders are breaking the law, they should have no rights. The dog bit the intruder while defending his owners property. The dog should be celebrated, not punished, and your punishment of the dog does not fit the dogs crime. Clearly self defence!!!!!!

(Gold Coast , 2017-09-14)

#7561

Dog was protecting his property .thats way i own a watch dog
Intruder has no right to enter my property. DONT PUT A GOOD DOG DOWN !!! WHERE IS A COMMON SENSE ?WAKE UP . COMMON SENCE AND JUSTICE ARE LOOSING ITS GROUND

(Gisborne, 2017-09-14)

#7562

This dog probably saved his family from being harmed :( this is ludicrous , please save Winston <3

(Boonah , 2017-09-14)

#7565

the dog was only doing what dogs do by guarding the ones it loves

(glenrowen, 2017-09-14)

#7566

The intruder was inside the fence when bitten
Are people not allowed to protect themselves.
The intruder was in the wrong.
Council needs to rewrite the rules if they font have tp provide proof.
One set of rules..
FOR ALL

(Mansfield , 2017-09-14)

#7568

What was the person doing in the house in the first place ... the dog was protecting its owners

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7571

This dog was doing it's job

(NERANG, 2017-09-14)

#7574

It seems more likely the dog was startled by having a stranger acting dangerously on his property. A dog should be allowed to protect his family, as should the humans in the family, from a threat. The dodgy human intruder should be punished, not a loved family pet.

(Mannering park, 2017-09-14)

#7575

It's so unfair to take a beloved pet dog away from her family, just because a stranger (an intruder!!) claimed that the dog is dangerous!! Yet the dog merely tried to protect her family! Please return the dog to her family unharmed as soon as possible...thank you.

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#7577

This dog was protecting its family. God love him. This dog needs to be reunited with his family now.

(Sydney , 2017-09-14)

#7578

Winston was doing his duty to defend his property.... a dogs job..... the intruder should be charged with tresspassing and attempted burglary....

Free Winston

(Cairns, 2017-09-14)

#7580

Winston was protecting the property of his owner. That is why folks have a dog.
The intruder was breaking the law. It is unfortuante that he was bitten, BUT, he is guilty and has been punished.
Winston deserves to be allowed back with his owners..

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7583

Of course a dog can sense danger and is protecting its family.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#7584

the dog is doing his job,,end of story,,,I find some one in my yard and the dog dont get 'em,,,I will,,,,

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7585

A dog protecting it's family should not be put down, the intruder had no right to be there.

(Charters Towers , 2017-09-14)

#7586

This is ridiculous! you can't destroy this dog for protecting his family. Have some common sense. Thieves and trespassers don't have the right to do as they please.

(Maldon, 2017-09-14)

#7587

Im signing because this is a bloody outrage!!!. The dog has done nothing wrong, all he did was protect his family from a low life scum bag.

(Northlakes, 2017-09-14)

#7589

Hes done nothing wrong but protect his family. This is total crap

(Greenwith, 2017-09-14)

#7592

He is a hero

(Macleod, 2017-09-14)

#7593

Because its a family pet its loved by the owners no dog should be killed .

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#7598

You have to have serious issues and no compassion or common sense if you think this dog should be put down for protecting their home from an intruder. Something seriously wrong up there. Should get it checked out

(Townsville, 2017-09-14)

#7600

Dont kill him, he was only doing his job, shoot the intruder right between the eyes would be better as the slimebag shouldn't have been there !!!

(Newcastle, 2017-09-14)
