(Sunbury, 2017-09-14)

#6602

The bloke bitten was an intruder on their property the dog was doing his job never heard such bullshit blaming a dog for this. Blame the bastard who came to steal

(wagga wagga, 2017-09-14)

#6604

Barbaric ... cruelty.

(Yandina, 2017-09-14)

#6605

The person entering the property had no right, Winston was doing his job protecting the property and his human. He does not deserve to die for protecting his home.
Innocent animals DO NOT deserve to be killed because of spiteful, cruel , irresponsible, rigid humans.
Free him to his home and stop the drama and trauma of this innocent animal !!!
Let Winston return to bid people who are missing, and he missing them !!

(Berry, 2017-09-14)

#6606

Winston should not be put down. There was a person on his property ILLEGALLY and Winston was protecting his family by stopping this ILLEGAL PERSON from getting in to the house.
Remember, this CRIMINAL was ILLEGALLY on someone else's property. If this CRIMINAL wasn't on this property ILLEGALLY he would not have been bitten. So this (person) CRIMINAL is the GUILTY CRIMINAL for being on someone else's property. The CRIMINAL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THIS PROPERTY.
The (person) CRIMINAL would not of been bitten if he didn't go onto this property.
If you put down Winston, you are wrong.
Please, don't put Winston down for protecting his family.
Just think if this was your family and your dog did the same thing to protect them.
You would be so proud and thankful of your dog, well that's how we all think about Winston.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#6613

I'm signing because I use to live in Mackay and strongly disagree to this.

If someone had broken into my property in the middle of the night I would be upset to know my dog didn't go them, I would much rather the INTRUDER hurt than the intruder possibly harming me?? I think this is disgusting what the council are doing and have never agreed with it.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#6615

IT WAS AN INTRUDER ON PRIVATE PROPERTY MY DOGS WOULD BITE AN INTRUDER ALSO GOOD ON YA WINSTON HOPE YOU GOT A GOOD COUPLE OF MOUTHFULS

(Aberdeen, 2017-09-14)

#6617

People bring dogs into their homes for companionship and protection. A dog and its owners should not be punished in an instance when the need for protection has been satisfied by the dog. In this case it appears there has been a trespasser and the dog was naturally protecting his pack and home. A dog cannot be punished for doing what any dog would do in this situation.

(Ballarat, 2017-09-14)

#6621

The dog obviously has more decency and common sense than the council officials who want to put it down - shame on council

(Brisbane, 2017-09-14)

#6625

i think local council are morons and the dog was protecting his home.

(Sussex Inlet, 2017-09-14)

#6627

I am a concerned dog owner, concerned because I believe my dogs would do the same.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#6630

You cant destroy a dog for doing its job, it was protecting its family.

(Mount Barker, 2017-09-14)

#6631

The dog was just doing what its suppose to do.it was supposed to be there, the intruder wasn't.

(Hervey bay, 2017-09-14)

#6635

This is wrong, why was that person in the yard in the first place?

(Morayfield, 2017-09-14)

#6637

Gympie council is run by fools. Who do favours for mates ..this dog was protecting its loving family it's councillors and the Mr BS that needs putting down

(Gympie, 2017-09-14)

#6638

This is absolutely ridiculous. This dog was in his yard minding his own business!!!! If some idiot chose to jump the fence with intention of being in someone's yard without permission at early hours of morning and he got bitten then it's his bad luck and was his decision to risk it. This dog was protecting HIS yard and HIS family.. he needs to be released immediately..

(Bundaberg, 2017-09-14)

#6641

It's not right

(Blue Haven, 2017-09-14)

#6647

(Peak Hill, 2017-09-14)

#6658

No animal deserves to die for protecting his pack

(Gosnells, 2017-09-14)

#6659

This is rubbish, the dog was on private property and a criminal entered their property. Also the bullshit dog control laws that allow criminals and others to lay complaints and not provide evidence, convicting before proving.

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#6661

Dog doing what he should be doing to protect family....so long as it is private property.

(Geelong, 2017-09-14)

#6663

Its un intruder thats what dogs are helpful will they are protecting

The intruder shouldnt of been there

(Dubbo, 2017-09-14)

#6664

This is soooo wrong

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#6666

I believe we have the right to defend our property/owner of Winston. Please let him go back to his family.

(Highland Park, 2017-09-14)

#6668

There should be a thorough investigation as to whether this person was in fact trespassing? If he was then the dog acted instinctively in protecting it's family! The dog should be returned to its owners and the would be thief charged!

(Glenfield , 2017-09-14)

#6669

This should never be allowed to happen

(Parkes, 2017-09-14)

#6670

if a intruder comes into my home my dog has the right to protect my home

(GOLD COAST, 2017-09-14)

#6672

(Bendigo, 2017-09-14)

#6673

Dogs do protect

(Menai, 2017-09-14)

#6675

The dog was only doing his job.

(Ipswich, 2017-09-14)

#6676

Firstly sounds like there's no evidence and secondly the dog was protecting it's Family/property from a tresspasser, who was probably going to commit a crime.

Return Winston to his Family and charge the criminal with trespassing.

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#6677

I am signing because dog was not in the wrong. The human was an intruder i to Winston's territory. Winston instinct was to defend his territory.

(SPRINGWOOD, 2017-09-14)

#6678

It's wrong to punish the victim. The dog was protecting its property and family.

(Bundaberg , 2017-09-14)

#6682

Winston should be released back to his family where he belongs NOW.

(Port Macquarie, 2017-09-14)

#6683

This is so wrong, the intruder was in the wrong, why isn't he charged??

(Baldivis, 2017-09-14)

#6684

You should able to protect your own property weather that be by your self or your dog.

(heritage park, 2017-09-14)

#6691

Dogs are here to protect us and our property. I have 2 dogs myself and i know if someone tried trespassing on our property at night they would probably bite. But i know that there the friendliest most loyal dogs. And im sure winston is the same :)

(Cairns, 2017-09-14)

#6692

I'm disgusted with this council. Let the dog out. Moronic idiocy.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#6694

It's the right thing to do

(Mt Isa , 2017-09-14)

#6695

If the intruder wasn't breaking the law he wouldn't of been bitten, show some common sense for god sake

(Melbourne , 2017-09-14)

#6696

Winston was doing his job protecting his family from undesirable people.

(Bundaberg , 2017-09-14)

#6697

I'd want my dog to bite an intruder too

(Goulburn, 2017-09-14)

#6698

This dog has done nothing wrong and in fact did everything right.
He was protecting his owners property.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-14)

#6702

A person and their dog should have the right to defend themself and their property. Sick of seeing innocent people being punished in defence of criminals.

(Taree, 2017-09-14)

#6703

This dog was doing its job. A bite. It is giving rights to intruders.

(Rockhampton, 2017-09-14)

#6705

People rely on their dogs to protect them from intruders. Dont blame the dog...blame the person who enterrd in the middle of the night.

(BIRTINYA, 2017-09-14)

#6706

Thats what our furbabies do.love and protect us.Let Wiston go home.

(Cowra, 2017-09-14)

#6709

This is so upsetting, I hope that if someone entered my property without being asked to my dogs would protect their yard and myself! I can just imagine how upsetting this would be for this family and for Winston!

(Townsville , 2017-09-14)

#6712

So someone trespassing on a property late at night allegedly gets bitten and you claim the dog is dangerous. The dog was fulfilling its function. The trespasser most likely in the process of committing a crime. If the council cannot see the difference than you have no functional operations.

(South Fremantle, 2017-09-14)

#6713

Somebody has to be the voice for animals.

(BEECHMONT, 2017-09-14)

#6715

The person was a intruder that was there to cause harm and rob etc.. therefor the dog was only protecting the property and the family.. Too many criminals getting away with too much then play innocent or mental issues .. Free Winston..

(Thomastown, 2017-09-14)

#6718

The dog was protecting its family . No one has a reason to be in someone's back yard at midnight. Again the law looks after the lawless not the citizen.

(Urana, 2017-09-14)

#6719

I belive he was doing what he was ment to ... we have dogs to in our lives to love them protecting us is them loving us .. we would dp the same for them

(Adelaide , 2017-09-14)

#6720

This is what dogs do, they bite intruders. This is one of the reasons we have dogs, to protect us

(wynnum, 2017-09-14)

#6722

this is a loving family pet who is in his yard and an intruder broke in, he ( the intruder )should be fined and chuck in prison for trespass, and not the fur baby protecting his family. This is heart breaking. Please free him and give him back.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#6723

The dog has every right to protect it's family and property.

(Worrigee, 2017-09-14)

#6724

Whatever happened to the term "guard dog". This dog was doing his job against an unlawful person intruding on the family home in the middle of the night. Let justice prevail

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#6725

Winston was only doing his job....protecting his family.....put the intruder down instead.

(Singleton, 2017-09-14)

#6726

Winston was doing his job, protecting his family. Wrong to punish him & his family for this.

(Townsville , 2017-09-14)

#6728

I'm signing because if some low life comes in to our years to steel what we have worked for then they deserve the coniqunces

(Orange, 2017-09-14)

#6731

I'm signing because if the person coming into the yard in the middle of the night and gets bitten it is their own fault. The dog was just doing his job protecting his yard during the evening while his owner slept.
If that dog gets put down you are sending a message to robbers that it is ok to steel from people cause their can't do anything to stop you and either can man's best friend(the dog).

(Oonoonba, 2017-09-14)

#6732

im signing because this dog is innocent and should not be punished

(mackay, 2017-09-14)

#6733

As a dog owner it is obvious to me, that a family pet cannot be blamed for protecting his family, on his families property.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#6735

Our precious fur babies need our voices.

(Nsw, 2017-09-14)

#6737

Winston was protecting his property, the intruder had no right to be there

(Toowoomba, 2017-09-14)

#6741

Thats what we have dogs for. Intruder should not have been there ...dog was protecting owner...bloody ridiculous

#6745

This dog has no right to be put down, he was procreating his family.

(Hervey Bay , 2017-09-14)

#6750

This bullshit has to stop. If you are bitten by a dog defending his home you deserve it. Sick of beautiful animals being destroyed because of scum

(Townsville , 2017-09-14)

#6752

The dog was doing it's duty - protect the family

(Cranbourne, 2017-09-14)

#6754

#6756

I am sick of dogs taking the rap for bad people.

(Beenleigh, 2017-09-14)

#6757

This is ridiculous, is the complainant being charged with trespassing? Out of control council

(Mossman, 2017-09-14)

#6758

The intruder deserved it and Winston was protecting his family

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#6759

I have a dog to protect my house after an intruder walked into our home while we were home and stole jewelry and money, the council wouldn't dare take my dog if he bit someone that was not meant to be there, that is trespassing and how do we know what these drug messed up so called humans could do to us if we confronted them.

(Dunbogan , 2017-09-14)

#6760

How about we protect the innocent for a change. This is the dogs home, the criminal had no right to be there. Pathetic laws!

(Adelaide, 2017-09-14)

#6764

Because he was only protecting his family

(Perth, 2017-09-14)

#6765

You can't punish an animal for protecting!

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#6767

I'm signing this because***** the intruder

(Brisbane , 2017-09-14)

#6768

I believe that if someone enters your property without permission in the middle of the night they have every right to be bitten by a startled dog

(Lake Macquarie , 2017-09-14)

#6769

Justice for private property. Not guilty until proven guilty. The dog protected his owners.

(Sarina, 2017-09-14)

#6770

This is sooooooo wrong!!!!
Set him Free!!!
You Council Morons!!!

(Gold Coast, 2017-09-14)

#6771

The dod was doing what a dog dose... most people own dogs for that reason. . What if that was your family.. council man..

(Noosaville , 2017-09-14)

#6772

It's stupid and if criminals go into people's yards and get bit, it's their fault not the dogs.

(Wollongong , 2017-09-14)

#6773

The dog was doing what it was meant to ,, protecting his family , and intruder gets more rights that a family pet , what a joke....

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#6775

This is insaine...he bit an intruder....isnt that why we have dogs...seriously...this is ridiculous

(Leumeah, 2017-09-14)

#6778

The family pet was protecting his family. Shame on the council for wanting to destroy Winston.

(EVANSTON PARK, 2017-09-14)

#6780

Dog's are there to protect your home and their home.

(Avoca , 2017-09-14)

#6783

This is unfair dog was just defending his family.MRC say local laws do not have to provide proof then that opens it up to any nutcase out there that might have a beef against any one they don't like

(Melbourne, 2017-09-14)

#6784

The dog was protecting his family it's what he us meant to do - it's sad day when your dog gets put down for protecting your family keys but think about law breakers as victims had the perpetrator not trespassed the dog would not have bitten him !!!

(Sydney , 2017-09-14)

#6787

I am shocked and disappointed in Australian justice system. I believe there are other measures to handle a matter like this whether the animal did bite the INTRUDER or not.
Please release the dog and any other poor animals you are willing to put down.

(Sydney, 2017-09-14)

#6788

Screw the council that's y. If you haven't got proof you ain't got shit and even still the dog was just doing it's job

(Bowen , 2017-09-14)

#6789

spare this dogs life. He was doing what a family dog should and that is protect his family. If someone uninvited entered my home the law would want my dog to get to them before I do.

(Kallangur, 2017-09-14)

#6790

I believe the dog has a right to protect his family. The intruder got his just deserts.

(Bellingen, 2017-09-14)

#6793

The dog was doing his job !

(Gold coast, 2017-09-14)

#6794

They should be giving him a medal

(Wodonga, 2017-09-14)

#6795

I totally agree Winston be freed as he was protecting his family on his own property. The intruders should not have been on the property.

(Orange , 2017-09-14)

#6797

It's so wrong for a dog to get put down for a person going into its property and thinking it was an intruder so did what it thought it had to in order to keep its family safe. Atleast a muzzle or training it, should never, ever resort to putting it down. Disgusting.

(Adelaide , 2017-09-14)

#6798

The intruder was in the wrong -not the dog !

(Tara, 2017-09-14)

#6799

No Dog should be put down for defending their Yard or their Family.

That person trespassed, Winston Defended his Home and his Family. Winston did nothing wrong.

(Gladstone, 2017-09-14)

#6800

Dog was protecting his zone if it actually did bite an intruder (and there's no proof that actually happened). Dogs are instinctively territorial , intruders don't belong in their territory PERIOD!! =. Councils need to pull their head out of their collective arses. The intruder was breaking the law and trespassing ( if he/she actually did enter property illegally) . No wonder there's a massive hatred growing towards all things govt and the mongrels,l that are in all levels of Govt.

(Eton, 2017-09-14)
