Most of the people in my industry are temporary visa holders. My whole kitchen staff are, and they had to go home. How are we supposed to start again without them. If you want this country up and running again, you will need them.Madelaine Huber (Melbourne, 2020-04-01)

Everyone in Australia is in a difficult position because of COVID-19, and temporary visa holders are no exception. In fact, they probably have it harder than most. If the government expects us all to follow precautionary rules that result in a loss of income, there needs to be an alternative method of support. For everyone.Sharon Blettner (Palmyra, 2020-04-01)

Temporary Visa holders Pay taxes just like anyone else. Australian citizens in foreign countries on temporary visas are being looked after yet they feel it’s okay to leave us stranded? We still have went and bills to pay like everyone else. This is a shocking way to treat people. I guess the old “Australians are racist” Seems to ring true here, what a shame.Deborah Lamb (Sydney, 2020-04-01)

Our best friends just immigrated with their two small boys. Australia is the country where they want to live for the rest of their life. They are hard workers and gave everything up to live in your country. But because of the corona virus, their jobs disappeared.Caroline Clifford (Harderwijk, 2020-04-01)

I am aware of all the hard work they do including work Australians don’t want to do and it builds good friendships with other countries. Imagine how you would feel if you were stuck in a foreign country with low financesSteve

I’m signing because I have spent over 30 000 dollars in education, 10 000$ in private health. I rent and support all local shops and inject plenty of money into the economy by renting and living here for over two years. I also pay regular tax. We have only just began to be allowed to work full time and now with my husband losing his job and my hours cut we are not even sure we will be able to meet the requirements for the job ready program never mind be able to afford to live in Sydney. But our tax helps pay for everyone who isn’t working and those in hotels in quarantine and everyone else getting assistance. It’s not right.Niomi Evensen (Sydney, 2020-04-01)
