I believe that this would be be lovely for Alison, Vernie and their families they deserve something to give them a little bit of comfort xx

Linda (Lisburn, 2024-06-22)

#402

It should be in Robbie’s home town around his family and friends.

Maureen Moore (Lisburn, 2024-06-22)

#403

#407

Robbie was a friend and a very popular character in our town and this is where he deserves to be remembered this would also be good for his family and friends

Ryan (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#408

Grief is the hardest thing in the world... and if we can ease it for just one person, even slightly, then it's worth doing. I hope your sons bench comes home x

Stacey Nesbitt (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#410

This is such a simple task for the council but would mean so much for the family. LCCC need to start keeping in touch with the people they are supposed to represent and work for.

Stewart McEvoy (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#412

I think it it the right thing to do

Nicola (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#415

My son Josh was a friend of Robbie & I also think this is not a big ask & the bench should be relocated to Lisburn where his family reside .

Allison Murphy (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#421

I know off this family and they have already had enough things to cope with they have not only had to suffer from grief and illness but also some very nasty trolls no one deserves what they have been subjected with this would be the right thing to do they deserve to have their loved ones place off rememberence close by them

Gareth Spence (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#425

I can’t understand why Lisburn Castlereagh council can’t let this happen I mean the land is left abandoning and overgrown which the family is going to have restored again themselves and you can see from the pictures how they maintain their area of land that the bench is currently on so this will also help improve the look in the cemetery and the bit off land they are giving back is in fantastic condition with no damage and ready for to resell putting them to no cost if anything probably make more money back on the resale off the ground as looks bigger and in immaculate condition!

David Lowry (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#427

Alison,Vernon,Sons and grandson really need to have this close to their home and other loved ones i have never seen anyone grieving so deeply as they are such a lovely close family who have had their lives completely shattered! I am a friend and i know exactly how much they love and miss Robert vernie can’t even watch a Liverpool game anymore without breaking down as they always watched the game together and soon as they scored Robert always made a charge for his Dad to hug him even if they were out in a bar he didn’t care about anyone 🥲they deserve anything that they can find a bit off comfort from please let them have this.

Friend (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

I think it would be lovely gesture for this memorial bench to be beside family graves and used by those in Blaris graveyard

Jennifer Bann (Lisburn, 2024-06-23)

#434

He deserves to be remembered close to home

Ann Cobbe (Belfast, 2024-06-24)

#435

I believe this is a worthy request that will have little or no public cost but will aid the applicant & society.

Barry Martin (Lisburn, 2024-06-24)

#454

Because I’m an angry friend and resident off Lisburn and I honestly can’t believe that this request is even questionable! This young man is a Lisburn native (LEGEND) along with his whole family from generations past LCCC what are you doing even disputing this like a few others have said how can people not even from Northern Ireland merit land for burial and memorial yet locals are challenged!! This is a disgrace i really hope you can do the decent thing for this LOCAL family who have been put through enough without this!!!

Simon (Lisburn, 2024-06-24)

#456

Robbie was an amazing person, deserves to be at his Home for family and friends to visit.

#457

Because it belongs in Robbie’s home town around family and friends

Bill (Lisburn, 2024-06-24)

The bench should be closer to his home for his family, it makes more sense as Robbie was born and raised in Lisburn

Jacqueline Irwin (Lisburn, 2024-06-25)

#461

Wee Robbie was a well respected young man off Lisburn as is his family it should be in our own city close by all us who love and miss him.

Danny (Lisburn, 2024-06-25)

#464

Laura Friars (Lisburn, 2024-06-25)

#468

#478

I am siging this petitionbecause I have a son buried in Blaris and fully understand how important this is to all Robert Flemmings loved ones, especially to his mother who gave birth to him! Time heals nothing and as a grieving motherr I fully understand Alison's heartbreak. Please consider her request, it is only a bench to some people but to someone grieving it is priceless! PLEASE CONSIDER ALLOWING THIS REQUEST. THANK YOU 💔

Ann Denny (, 2024-06-25)

#482

It deserves to go to Lisburn and i doubt any decent person would say anything differently! Good luck to such a lovely respectful family of Lisburn.

James (Lisburn, 2024-06-25)

#484

Paula Morrow (Lisburn, 2024-06-25)

Wee Robbie was loved by everyone who knew him Lisburn is his home town and his family deserves to have him close by them and other loved ones ridiculous that they are being forced to have to fight this.

#508

I think it's a very reasonable request, and believe it's an issue worth supporting, GOOD LUCK

Stephen Davis (Belfast, 2024-06-26)

#509

Wee Robbie was such a kind hearted young man and such a character to know him was to love him the people off Lisburn were devastated by his passing and our whole city came to a standstill you only have to take a look at the funeral he had to see what people thought of him the streets were lined with people the people walking with the funeral courage went beyond site and the church was over filled he definitely deserves to have his place off remembering in Lisburn him and his whole family are well known respected natives this shouldn’t even be a debate!

Naomi Morgan (Lisburn, 2024-06-27)

#510

I’m so sorry Verny that you and your wife are even having to fight for this simple thing which deserves to be on your home town I really hope the council see sense.

#511

It's right.

Sai (Lisburn, 2024-06-27)

#512

I’m supporting my family and also grew up with Verny Lisburn is where it belongs this family was established in Lisburn many many years ago if wee Jackie Allen (Robert Grandfather) was still alive today this wouldn’t even be happening between him and his brothers they would personally have already located it and nobody or anything would off stopped them or challenged them lol 😂 i know this myself for sure! Its not a lot to ask to put the bench beside his grandfather, Aunt and other family members also his grandmother who will soon be there also.

Mr J Graham (Lisburn, 2024-06-27)

#515

This family really needs this to happen and what harm will it do moving it onto the abandoned area where a previous bench was situated.

Patricia Sinclair (Lisburn, 2024-06-28)

#530

This is ridiculous that this local family aren’t allowed to put their sons bench on a small piece off land in our home city yet bus full of immigrants where allowed in yesterday and put up in 2 local hotels until they get housing and everything paid for them any wonder locals get so angry!

Brian (Lisburn, 2024-06-29)
