I am signing this petition because I grew up in Kilsyth/Croydon area and this pool not only has amazing memories for me and my siblings, but my parents too. It’s in a great location, very central for people in that area. Ringwood pools is too busy all the time and cannot accommodate the growing population of the eastern suburbs. I’m sure rate payer would rather their rates go towards supporting their local swimming pools than to a number of other council projects that are being put I in place.Bambi Van Koll (Melton, 2024-02-04)

I frequented the Kilsyth pools as myself and my kids absolutely loved it and it was close, convenient and the only indoor/outdoor pool in the area. Please keep the outdoor pool🙏🏼

We need the pool operational again immediately as this is an ill considered move by Yarra Ranges CouncilI would support a vote of “no conference” in Yarra Ranges Council

We need this pool to remain, such a great site and the bigger size is needed for swim lessons and certificates. On hot days other pools close with too many numbers. Long wait lists for swimming lessons. All Aussie kids and parents should have a pool close by. Not everyone can drive to another area! Not disability friendly. Save our pool!

I have swam in the Kilsyth pool for 30 years, since closing down I don’t go anywhere else as I don’t have the time to drive to another location, and now I can’t take my grand children there 😓Kerrie Ekers (Kilsyth, 2024-02-29)

Please rebuild this facility it is needed for our community for people if all ages and for the ease of people whether it be swim lessons or fitness or just families wanting to have fun together. Not easy to get to other pools by transport this is just a short walkSusan Anderson (Kilsyth, 2024-02-29)

The community needs a pool. Community facilities should be improved not reduced or removed. Kilsyth pool was widely used even in winter. It needs to be replaced.Sharyn Manning (Mooroolbark, 2024-02-29)

I'm a casual lap swimming here in the mornings. It's important for my fitness. I haven't been swimming since it was torn down. I don't have time in the mornings to drive to a different pool. I also wonder what happened to all the senior mens social circle. It seemed like a very important part of their lives.Amy Feyen (Kilsyth, 2024-03-04)

We have no where close for our daughter to swim . Croydon pool is not warm enough. We shouldn’t have to drive 20mins for a swimming poolNicole Tate (Lilydale, 2024-03-04)

I'm signing here because this pool has always been a big part of my life my mums life and her siblings lifes. I still remember the fist time i went there and saw the amazing domb structure. This is the closest pool to my house and i love it with all my heart. I remember playing in the rock pools with my friends during the 2019 -2020 bushfires when the sky was clouded with smoke. This pool has always been a big part of my family's lifes and always will be.Felix McCarthy (Mt Evelyn, 2024-03-05)

I agree that we should have a modern swimming facility rebuild on Kilsyth Pool. It is where we can facilitate school out here. It used to have both indoor and outdoor pools which is very convenience. I strongly vote for a rebuild of the Kilsyth Pool.Mickey Udomkul (Mooroolbark, 2024-03-05)

I believe the pool should be rebuilt the area is full of young families and only growing, having a facility to take them on hot days weekends is important in getting people out and into the community.Amy Mann (Kilsyth, 2024-03-08)

We need a pool in our local area and I don't want to see the land sold off for housing as this woukd have a severe impact on the 5 ways roundabout which gets terribly congestedNicki Cook (Mooroolbark, 2024-03-08)

Kilsyth was our closest all season pool for many yearsn, Children need access to swimming lessons, other swim schools can't handle the influx of extra students. A new pool and rehab pool in YR would be fantastic and very much needed. KP was dated and never got major renovations throughout the years but deserved it. Bring back what we need 🙏Naomi Daly (Lilydale, 2024-03-08)

I’m signing this form because our family used the pool and now we need to travel to Ringwood for a 50m pool. This takes precious time away from us. Also our school used the pool for lessons and now we have been required to find an alternate place which is smaller and now the program needs to run over 2 weeks instead of one causing further disruption to the learning of the children and teachers.Kim Hardstaff (Mooroolbark, 2024-03-08)

I believe, if planned and throroughly considered, a well developed facility that protected other local stakeholders would grossly benefit the area.Rob Kent (Croydon, 2024-03-08)

I grew up with this pool, and did continue to use it as an adult. They should have built a proper facility in the first place instead of the dome, which has just been an ongoing expense due to vandalism and also letting the community down at the same time.
The dome was front page news in the local paper back in the time when it was new.The plan originally was to, have the dome off in summer and on in winter. But unfortunately this never happened as it was later announced in the local paper that it would cost $10,000.00 each time to take it off, then another $10,000.00 to put it back on. Surely council would have known of this prior to making the dome.
Kilsyth Centenary Pool, is needed , and wanted by the community.
Council, you made the mistake with the dome now you need to upgrade this facility properly as you should have done in the first place. Give us something back, that we want, not you.

I’m signing because Croydon leisure centre is too busy with Kilsyth pool closed and we would frequent this pool nearly every week and sometimes multiple days during holidays with kids and family/friends. Lilydale centre is also too far away. Aquanation, too busy already and too far away.Currently going to Aquahub. 2-3 times a week for hydro and it’s difficult getting there
