I’m signing because this is clearly a blatant attempt by the developer to strong arm the council into granting planning permission for housing.

Fiona Wilson (Reading, 2020-11-21)

The wildlife of lower early needs a home too.

woong-sin hiu (Shinfield, 2020-11-21)

This was done without public consultation and is valuable natural habitat locally.

Julia Jones (Earley, Reading, 2020-11-21)

#418

Your destroying to much wooded areas already and endangering our wild life.

Tina Rawlings (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#419

There's been enough developments in this area and its already overcrowded.

Julia Roberts (READING , 2020-11-21)

#423

This is outrageous. This land was home to lots of wildlife. It was sold not to be built on.

Bryony Aust (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#428

This area is already overcrowded, is prone to flooding and roads are constantly jammed.
More importantly as a natural habitat for wildlife this has ruined a green space and is not conducive to the environment.

Yvonne Elwood (Reading , 2020-11-21)

#430

This is utter distruction of a lovely space.

Marion Want (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#445

Stewardship of untended openspace does not grant automatic right to modify the environment without consultation.

Chris Johnson (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#448

We have little green space in this area so need to protect what remains.

Simon Hill (Lower Earley, 2020-11-21)

I am signing as green corridors must not disappear. They are essential for now and the years to come.

Helga Evans-Saktreger (Reading, 2020-11-21)

This is my local green space which has proved even more vital in the current climate for being able to be out, get exercise and fresh air. The devastation so far is so sad. We need to save these spaces for our generation and the future generations.

Carly Rushton (Lower Earley, Reading, 2020-11-21)

#467

All our green spaces are being eaten up and it’s important to have mini forest like areas for the children to explore and learn. We have enough new building going on in our area. Enough is enough!

Karen Butler (Sindlesham , 2020-11-21)

#469

I am local to the area and am devastated that such beautiful woodland is being destroyed.

Claire Walden (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#473

Green space is highly desirable in an already built up area. I would rigorously oppose any potential development on this site.

Lyn Craddock (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#476

I am signing because a dedicated green space has not sort permission despite being privately owned to remove vegetation, mature trees and habitat. Habitats have been destroyed and those animals did not get a say in that decision.

Kerry Eastwood (Earley, 2020-11-21)

#479

So much wildlife has lost its natural habitat and being forced onto roads and killed

Developers should be held to account and our green spaces and public planning rules adhered to.

Bruce Blake (WOKINGHAM, 2020-11-21)

#492

Because I am fed up with Reading University building over all of our green fields.

Jim Frewin (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#494

This is a devastation of trees shrubbs and this kills of wildlife in there.

Christine Castle (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#495

The removal of the vegetation leads to removal and decline to wildlife.

Jim Castle (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#499

This land should not be developed

Catherine Leather (Reading, 2020-11-21)

The land off of Bassett Close is area I used daily to walk my dogs. This was a lovely nature area to walk around. I regularly saw deer, foxes, birds and small mammals in this natural habitat. It is a disgrace that this wildlife area has been cleared and many animal habitats destroyed. Any future developments on this sight must be prevented and this wild area restored.

Angela Bunton (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#504

It's important to preserve as much green space as we can. Greed is not a valid reason to get rid of it.

Martin Aust (Woodley, 2020-11-21)

#507

I have lived in Lower Earley for 40 years and have seen the green spaces diminish rapidly over the years. Enough is enough.

Gerti Chetland (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#508

Have walked my dogs through this area for years and enjoy all the wildlife we see ( deer , foxes, bats and many types of wild birds ) and feel very alarmed we could lose all of this to more devolopment that we really dont need in the area considering the lack of infrastructure. Was interested a while back when these small boxes started appearing around this area which i later found out was for a survey on doormouse colonies in the area . Now i know why this was carried out . I did find it crazy that all the boxes were located on the footpaths and considering no one knew what they were and would be looking in them , no doormouse in his right mind would set up home in these . It saddens me to think that the world has succumb to the greed of developers stating that we need more living accomodation rather than looking after our countryside and the pleasures it brings .

Dean Hindry (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#514

I am not happy with the green space being removed. There is very few green spaces left following years of heavy development , so what we have remaining must be saved.

Curtis Mitchell (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#516

This land is precious for wildlife and the community, we don't need any more houses!!!!!

Clare Sheppard (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#519

We are losing far too much of our green spaces and the underhand manor being taking makes this even worse.

Elizabeth Gorringe (Lower Earley, 2020-11-21)

#520

We need to preserve what’s left of our green space and wildlife habitats.

John May (Reading , 2020-11-21)

#522

I'm signing because I live near to where this land has been dessimated and I strongly and resolutely disagree with this action. This land was a beautiful piece of countryside, with trees, shrubs, grasses, and wild flowers growing attractingmany different insects, birds, deer, bats and foxes. Living in this area I treasure the green spaces we have. It's so important to keep these pockets of natural beauty for the residents' enjoyment and the local wildlife. It would be a travesty to develop the land, not only would it reduce the natural beauty and wildlife diversity of the area but also increase the level of traffic which outside of Covid times is already too great along the feeder road, with terrible traffic jams occurring at peak times. The traffic is extremely busy here and the trees act as a natural buffer and sound protection against that. We do not want any new developments in this area.

Emma Moriarty (Lower Earley , 2020-11-21)

#531

I am a local resident and concerned about this issue

Louise Medley (Lower Earley, 2020-11-21)

#533

I'm signing because it is important that our green spaces are preserved and I am astonished at what has happened at Swallows Meadow.

Jonathan Carter (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#534

I live in this local area and I am appalled that an area which clearly is inhabited by wildlife has been removed without public announcements or consultation.

Helen Marshall (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#538

People need green spaces. Lower Earley already has a lot of people per square inch and they need space to walk and enjoy nature.

Fiona Baskett (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#542

Do not want this to go ahead and want to keep green space

Melanie de Jong (Lower Earley Reading , 2020-11-21)

Danielle Knight (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#556

There has to be a limit to the extra housing squeezed into this locality and corridors are vitally important to the little remaining wildlife in this area

Robert Brittain (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#557

I'm tired of companies thinking they can do what they want and think they are above the law. Where's a copy of the wildlife survey they did?

Jenny Edwards (Reading, 2020-11-21)

#558

We need to keep & treasure our green space

Alison Cross (Reading , 2020-11-21)

#571

We are so overloaded with housing in this and the surrounding areas. Large areas of wildlife habitat have been disappearing since my childhood. I’ve lived in Woodley and Earley area for 57 years and the local people seem to never be heard, Seems that the developers have just gone ahead felling trees illegally just as happened in Shinfield a few years ago when all the memorial trees that lined their roads were felled by developers. Result oh dear oops oh well we can carry on building now they are out the way! Please stop this sort of developer get away with destroying important habitat in our town. Thank you

Llisa Preece (Reading, 2020-11-21)

I love our green spaces, all over Wokingham and surrounding area is becoming red bricks. Where is the wild life suppose to go? The deer, the foxes, etc, etc not too mention all the millions of insects. People love to walk almost the trees and to hear the birds and see the wildlife. It is the absolute best thing for mental health. Green space MUST be kept.

Casi Holding (Wokingham , 2020-11-21)

#581

This green space is important for wildlife and for local residents to enjoy green outdoor space.

Waheed Asghar (Reading, 2020-11-21)

I live in this area and weve lost so much land its rediculous

Carla Hartman (Reading , 2020-11-22)

#587

We need to keep the green space

Lyn Lane (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#591

I disagree completely with the further destruction of any more green spaces in the borough. This area needs vegetation to help mitigate potential flooding and does not have the badly needed infrastructure for more houses/flats to be added

#594

I’m a local resident

Lisa Cobbett (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)
