Our historical buildings NEED TO BE PRESERVED!! Other towns are doing it, there is no reason Jerseyville can’t either!!!!Carrie Kallal (Jerseyville , 2020-02-01)

Would be better for downtown to clean and fix inside as well as renovate to make into something else or to keep as the Moose Lodge.Ryan Kadell (Jerseyville, 2020-02-01)

Buildings with Historical significance should not be torn down for a city parking lot, especially a building that is structurally intact and stable. The building can be remodeled and updated to be used for the City's gain.Keith Franklin (Kingston, 2020-02-01)

I would like to see a restoration because of the historic nature of this building...A banquet hall would be quite fitting

From what I understand the building structure is in good shape and with this petition the city would still be able to acquire many parking spaces for businesses. Also, I don't like the "out with the old, in with the new" mentality. On a personal note, I have many fond memories there. My great grandparents 50th anniversary celebration was held there upstairs. I had many Friday night family dinners there. Bingo was always a good time! I have the desk that sat inside the entrance. I love having it! But, I would love it even more if someone reopened the building so my beautiful desk could be put back where it belongs.Natalie Jones (Brighton (Jersey County), 2020-02-01)

History is past- present-future. Our generations all need to be in sink on something in our town. We need to be able to share stories os something or something that has been an active part. Snot just a storyShawn Price-stoutner (Brighton , 2020-02-02)

My hometown, Pekin, just tears down buildings and puts in useless parking lots that nobody even needs. Please don't do this to one of your historic buildings. You might end being just like Cairo, Illinois .Patricia Rardin (SARASOTA, 2020-02-02)

We must save some elements of history. What will we show generations to come? Architecture, masonry work, art, what will we show future generations? Parking lots?Beth Sanfilippo (Schiller Park, 2020-02-03)

I’m signing because I can. I don’t think people should have the right to demolish old historic buildings unless it’s become a danger to the town/ city itself. I have family in Jerseyville and I basically grew up going down south and seeing this building as I passed by.Jenna Wallace (Urbana, 2020-02-03)

I don't want to see my hometown lose all its character. There's other options to benefit the community without jeopardizing culture and history. Stop thinking of easy alternatives and take on challenges.Donnie Randolph (Dayton, 2020-02-04)

I grew up here and to take the Moose and just demo it is wrong. It is part of r town and should remain that way. Take that money and spend it to renovate the Moose instead of tearing it down.Virginia GREENLEE (Jerseyville , 2020-02-05)

On my 18th birthday my mother took me to play bingo there where I won for the first time. I lost her December 10th 2018 unexpectedly. She couldnt have been a more important part of my life and losing her is the worst thing iv ever been thru. I dont see why part of the building couldnt b saved thats an awful lot of money for a gravel parking lot. I mean boo hoo is it really that hard for you all to find a space?megan graves (jerseyville, 2020-02-06)

This building needs to stay for the community and not be torn down for only 35 parking spots nothing gained by so few spots.walter wright (lake saint louis mo 63367, 2020-02-06)

Jerseyville has been my home town for 30 years. Not only do I think it’s ridiculous to spend over 100,000 on gravel and a little measly 35 parking spots; if there are so many people out there wanting to update it and make it something BIG again, I think that’s where the money should go. Having a facility of some sort, that brings attraction and revenue to our beloved Jerseyville-then GO FOR IT!!!Steevi Nicosia (Alton, 2020-02-06)

The city of Jerseyville has a spending problem. With so many broken roads, no community infrastructure and complete disregard to the voting population, the city has to see when it's time to draw a line. Their spending too much on the wrong things and no parking lot is needed. Buy a lot for 35k and use the remaining funds on community outreach buildings.Joseph Gray (Jerseyville , 2020-02-06)
