I lived in Edenmore in 1981 in the same cul de sac as the McDermott family. This family need to know the truth and someone needs to be held accountable for the massive loss of young people.

BS 5422 1977/1990/2001/2009 (Table 13 referenced in eg. https://cdn01.rockwool.co.uk/siteassets/rw-uk/literature-downloads/datasheets/ductslab-ductwrap.pdf), indicates 40mm Polyzote Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation on the Stardust attic / ceiling void air ducts, was far more likely than 5mm to 12mm. Who puts 5 or 12 mm EPS insulation (Coffey 2009 Appendices page 880 item r) on ANYTHING?!! Resulting fire initiation scenarios have yet to be examined. 40mm EPS = A QUARTER TONNE of Combustible Foam Plastic Insulation in the attic / ceiling void, equivalent to 286 Litres of Petrol.

I am signing because a lot of my friends died that night .I want the truth . I was there the week before and there was a Black out and could not see a thing in front of us, I just cant imagine how those poor young people suffered. There families deserve justice. My Uncle worked on the building of the Stardust and said it was a death trap because of the ceiling. I believe this was the reason it caught fire so quickly but cant prove it.

I'm signing because my brother Mr Eugene Hogan 24yrs died in the Stardust, his wife escaped phyiscal injury to care for their two baby daughters now left without their father. And my brother Bernard Hogan escaped but was badly burnt. I want the Truth and I want Justice for All the victims.

I'm signing because I am of an age where I could just as easily have been there on that dreadful night. I was at a club in town but friends where there, some lost family members & friends! It's atrocious that these people have to still wearily fight for this... Enough is Enough! Too many parents of Stardust victims have gone to their graves without peace in their hearts. There needs to be no more.

Remember the night well. And in memory of a friend of my Aunt who I was lucky to meet once. She actually escaped but rushed back in to look for one of her sisters. Tragic. May the 48 rest in peace 💔💔
