I think that the salary that I earn is enough for my profession.

(Johannesburg, 2018-03-02)

I have been employed in the NGO sector, no growth and opportunity to be at DSD,so I can save money and enroll to finish my degree. Only left with three modules from UP.

(Gauteng, 2018-03-02)

Social workers are underpaid and less valued. We work under extremely terrible conditions and we deserve more than we are offered

(Nelspruit, 2018-03-02)

#410

I am signing because I am an unemployed social worker who is still waiting for the Department of Social Development to place to place as per thier promise.

(Cape Town, 2018-03-02)

#412

I fully agree that Social Work Profession has to be treated with dignity it deserves.Vulnerable people deserve to be serviced by well taken care of professionals who are well paid for a service rendered and this should be seen as a strategy to ensure healing to our socially I'll communities.

(Kimberley, 2018-03-02)

#416

I need improvement of salaries for social workers the entry level is just an embarassment because Social work is an honours degree (WE NEED SALARY LEVEL 10) and I am even over qualified cause now i have a Masters degree but it is not recognised. Salary increament, employment for all social workers unemployed should be the first priority or South Africa will not progress. Again we cannot be lead by a Minister who does not have an under graduate. SACSSP must intervene in this as well it cant be correct that we have Minister who cannot uphold our ethical conduct as Social Workers. We also need a Minister who hold atleast PHD in Social Work.

(Johannesburg, 2018-03-02)

#419

I AM IN THIS PROFESSION FOR 36 years.
I AM A PROUD SOCIAL WORKER, DESPITE BEING UNDER PAID. I MOTIVATE STAFF TO DO THEIR UTMOST FOR THE POORER OF THE POOR..
I believe that IN order for us to turn around the plight of women.children, the elderly, we also need to be recognised as professionals who deserve to be treated as such.
TO implement the children's act the total of Social workers currently registered and working will never be able to make or bring about change that is so urgently needed all over this country.
TO implement the Child justice act we need many more Social workers employed and PAID a good salary irrespective of working for Non governmental organisations or the state.
No disparity regarding salaries for state and private. MEANING THAT GOVERNMENT SHOULD PAY SALARIES FOR ALL SOCIAL WORKERS AS IS BEING DONE IN TERMS OF TEACHERS.
PAY SUPERVISORS THE SAME AS MANAGERS, THE SAME SALARIES .
PLEASE CHANGE THE INFRASTRUCTIRE AT OFFICES SO THAT CLIENTS COULD BE SEEN.IN A PRIVATE SAFE AND SECURE SPACE.

I am an unemployed graduate and its been almost four years now. I am living in poverty although I was hoping that by becoming a social worker I will bring about change in other people's lives and also in my own life. Unemployed social workers deserve jobs as the existing social workers are overworked with work load and sometimes not deliver services on time due to shortage of staff.

As we are professionals who help people help themselves, it is only fair and important that we seek intervention from the authority to take initiatives that will cater for Social Workers as well, starting from decreasing this high rate of unemployement up to the salary norch and many more other issues that affect us as Social Workers

I believe having enough Social Workers employed will decrease social problems through prevention strategies and will decrease work loads and having Social Workers who are self- actualised will surely have a great and a positive impact towards a better society.
