Reinstate Coach T. Brown as the Westover High Girls Varsity Coach

I was at the EE Smith game yesterday and I saw how the principal Ms. Lowery and the Athletic Director, Mr. Green are literally together ALL the time lately. Is this suppose to be demonstrating how she believes in or is minimalizing his part in this?? Shameful! All I wish is that she would support her coach as much! Those girls played that game for their coach and immediately after they won ran over to Coach Brown, sitting on the opposite side, and said that was for you Coach! Heartbreaking

I have known Tammy since grade school she is an awesome responsible person and she generally loves the sport and to keep her from those students who obviously want her back is ridiculous

(Winston Salem, 2016-12-11)

#417

I believe in equal rights. My daughter goes to WOHS and my son plays sports for them and they both support this cause. I am proud of them for understanding the importance of equal rights.

Society is felling our youth once again. This in no how we build a strong community. Coach Brown, has shown strong passion for the community, the young ladies on the team, and Westover High school. To be pushed to the side is unacceptable and disrespectful. Coach Brown will stand strong, and she's not alone.

(South East DC, 2016-12-12)

#434

Mrs Brown is one of those teachers we need more of! She should be allowed to continue coaching.

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

#435

My cousin is on the varsity team

(Charlotte, 2016-12-12)

#436

I feel that she was fired over prejudice reasoning. How can you teach students to accept others and to not judge but you do it yourself . She did nothing wrong and for you to dislike her because of her sexual preference is ridiculous. What's next? Banning the students a part of the LGBTQ Community from Westover? Its a shame adults cant be mature .

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

#438

She's the most caring most upbeat and kind hearted woman I know .

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

#439

As a student of Westover High School I believe that we are all family and every family has it's disputes so I'm sticking with the student body and what they believe in.

(Durham, 2016-12-12)

I am signing this petition because she was removed unfairly and under false pretenses, and she loves her players as they love her. Coach Brown is one of a kind and the best thing to have happened to the westover girls basketball program. She has formed a bond with her players which in her abscence is breaking their heart

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

I love and miss my Coach the school is hurting us and our Coach and taking her off the court was wrong, reinstate Coach Brown

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

#454

She should be allowed to coach, such actions can not be allowed to happen without some sort of resistance tell the people who think they can silence our voices that they can't do this.

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-12)

It does NOT make sense that she was suspended. She is positivity influencing the girls and the community. What is happening to her is unjust and unfair

(Ewa Beach, 2016-12-12)

#473

If a man were coaching a girls team you wouldn't take his job because he liked women so why take her job if she likes women. #EQUALITY

Ms. Brown does everything in her power to make sure these kids are happy and gets what they deserve. Why punish her for wanting better for the youth #letcoachbrowncoach

(Edwardsville, 2016-12-13)

#488

I'm signing this petition in support of keeping Brown as not only a public safety teacher but as the coach for varsity basketball and Cross-country. I personally have been coached by her in cross-country and know that of all my years running, I have progressed faster and beyond anywhere I've been in the past. Not only is she a great coach, but she's a great role model, and friend. She must arguably be one of the most loved Teacher/Coaches at Westover High school.

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-13)

#489

I respect what y'all are doing. Keep it up. Stand up in what you believe!!

No one should ever be fired or discriminated against due to their sexuality.

(Broken arrow, 2016-12-14)

#514

Removing Ms. Brown is the worst decision made. The skills, ethics and confidence that Ms. Brown will instill in the young ladies is priceless and will stay with them for a lifetime. My daughter starts high school next year and I could only wish that Ms. Brown could be her coach.

(Severna Park, 2016-12-14)

#515

You should not discriminate against one for their personal preference

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-14)

It's not fair to fire somebody because they aren't straight. She likes pussy just like the principal so?

Coach Tammy Brown Is Not Only A Great Coach But She Created A Family And Bond With The Girls

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-16)

#531

I'm signing this because she's a great coach and all the students love her

(Fayetteville, 2016-12-19)

#534

Because she taught me some much about basketball, she is the best girls basketball I ever played against. We use to go from neighbor hoods and play against different player in pick up games. I remember when she took me and a view other to Philadelphia on a college tour to visit different university. Tammy is a wonderful person, player, coach, friend, and mentor. She deserve to be head coach at Westover high school. She has paid her dues to society off and on the court.
