Winston was only protecting his home so give him back to his family.

(Kandos NSW, 2017-09-13)

#4802

No proof needed. Ridiculous.

(Adelaide, 2017-09-13)

#4804

I'm signing because the dog was defending his home and family when someone was illegally on their premises, disgraceful that the dog was even seized, I hope the trespasser has been charged

(Beverley, 2017-09-13)

#4805

I am an dog lover and even if I wasn't the dog was guarding his property, it is the criminal that needs putting down for good.

(Safety Beach, 2017-09-13)

#4808

Firstly the intruder shouldn't have been on the property in the first place and secondly how do we know the intruder didn't provoke the dog? Perhaps the intruder was bitten by another dog and claimed it was Winston? There is no proof.

(Traralgon Victoria , 2017-09-13)

#4809

This dog was defending his home. Madness to kill him for that.

(Gold coast, 2017-09-13)

#4810

Proof must be provided otherwise how do you prevent vexatious complaints. Poor dog was protecting his family, which is why we have dogs. They are important members of the family.

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#4811

Signing as council should take notice of stat decs of persons involved and be made accountable for their decisions as well.

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#4813

How can you take a dog's life away when all he did was try to protect his owner against an illegal intruder!!? His must be absolutely heartbreaking for its owner.

(Melbourne , 2017-09-13)

#4815

This is an abominable injustice.

(MACKAY , 2017-09-13)

#4816

He's my dog and I want him home

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4817

Individuals that enter others yards at unscheduled visits should do so at their own risk. Dogs or their owners should not be punished for defending their lives and property.
Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home.

(Mackay , 2017-09-13)

#4818

Winston was only protecting his home and family from intruders. He is innocent of wrong doing. The intruder is the guilty one. He deserves what he got as he should not have been there.

(Moranbah, 2017-09-13)

#4824

Because the dog was doing its job. Unlike the council!!!!

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4826

If the MRC do not have to provide proof then anybody can make a allegation. and have any dog confiscated. How can that be legal and fair and on that basis no owner can ever get a fair and just outcome to the allegation. What was a stranger doing in the backyard at midnight in the first place?

(Cranbourne, 2017-09-13)

#4827

save Winston from being put to sleep by council

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4828

A man's home is his castle. He has to be able to protect it from thieves somehow. This dog was doing his job. The Council have no right to seize this dog let alone put him to sleep. This is just a ridiculous state of affairs.
Has the person who was supposed to have been attacked come forward ?? I bet not. There is no proof that any one was attacked unless this person comes forward.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#4830

Councils are cruel, this needs to be stopped asap !

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#4833

No animal should die especially for protecting its home and owners... i believe in the cause

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4834

I am signing this because I believe the dog was protecting his property. As you would if you had an intruder in your own home....

(Hervey Bay , 2017-09-13)

#4847

The dog deserves a medal for looking after his family

(Beerwah , 2017-09-13)

#4852

Obviously this numnut was breaking in and Winston was protecting his family thank god!! Wake up you stupid council - this dog deserves a medal not death!

(brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#4857

This dog was doing his job protecting the family. Why does a criminal entering private property in the middle of the night have the right to make a complaint? The council protecting a criminal without any evidence is a joke!

(Ferntree Gully , 2017-09-13)

#4858

This system needs to be accountable. What happened to proof and why are the council so reticent to find out the facts before making these decisions. The way this works, anybody could accuse anyone else and if it doesn't have to be proven, then it's a pretty shonky deal. Besides, what the hell is that person doing on someone else's property at that time of morning! All pretty damn suspicious!

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4859

Winston did the right thing. He protected his family and home

(New Norfolk, 2017-09-13)

#4861

The law regarding this is ridiculous
. Their has to be proof.. Your killing s family pet wich very well might be completely innocence. What was the man doing in their yard in the middle of the night anyway..

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4863

When intruders have more rights than their intended victims the law needs changing.
Nobody should have access to a backyard without an invitation.

(Perth , 2017-09-13)

#4864

With crime so high and limited resources from the government we need to feel safe in OUR homes. this dog was protecting its family.

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#4865

if someone breaks into your home and bitten by a family dog, they deserve it. what if that person thinks they can keep going around stealing peoples property because he can get pets put down. not good enough. man up and stop the criminals.

(Gympie, 2017-09-13)

#4867

If the guy was on fenced property when bitten then he should be charged not the dog

(lismore , 2017-09-13)

#4868

THIS IS A FAMILY DOG AND WAS PROTECTING THE FAMILY THAT CARES FOR HIM

(TOWNSVILLE, 2017-09-13)

#4870

I have dogs and if someone that's not invited comes onto my property I would expect my dogs to protect me that is their first instinct don't blame the dog ask that person why the hell they were there

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4871

Winston is loved by his family...and was protecting them.

(Wellington point, 2017-09-13)

#4874

This dog has done nothing wrong. For goodness sake, all he did was protect his owners property

(Adelaide, 2017-09-13)

#4876

It's a ridiculous decision. Let's remember who is in the wrong here - the person who was in a yard he shouldn't have been in.

(Canberra , 2017-09-13)

#4877

Winston has a right to protect his property poor dog

(Adelaide, 2017-09-13)

#4879

I think your dog should be able to protect his family n house were they live it is wrong to put him down for doing his job

(Mackay Queensland , 2017-09-13)

#4880

This is plain wrong and a travesty of justice the council needs to do what is right not politically correct they at the most need notice and a guideline when did a trespassing act by a individual become more important than a life of a family member because he is a hero not a villain

(Cairns , 2017-09-13)

#4881

The dog was protecting the family

(MARIAN, 2017-09-13)

#4882

This is so wrong! The intruder should be going to jail! The dog was defending himself and his property and family. This makes me so mad! How stupid can people be?

(Ferny Grove, 2017-09-13)

#4883

An intruder should not be the cause of putting this family pet down. He had broken the law , his actions have consequences .

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#4884

The dog wS protecting its owners and property. Someone coming onto the property in the middle of the night is trespassing. This dog should not be destroyed.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#4886

Winston was doing his job

(Bucasia, 2017-09-13)

#4887

The dog was doing its job protecting the house its shouldnt be put down when the guy was clearly trespassing

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4891

It's just wrong
Protecting the property should not result in death for this family pet

(Ipswich, 2017-09-13)

#4893

I too have a family pet that I hope would bite the hell outta someone trying to enter my yard or house that is not invited! I am an American and this doesn't happen there because you are allowed to protect your property anyway you see fit. I find this crazy here.

(Blacks Beach, 2017-09-13)

#4895

I am disgusted with Mackay City Council and they should be ashamed of themselves. bet if it was the CEO dog it would be swept under the carpet, I know I work in Council.. The dog was just doing his job protecting his family. Shame on you Mackay City Council

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#4896

This dog was defending his home against an intruder. Free this dog he did what any good dog would do. The intruder is the person in the wrong here.

(Goonellabah, 2017-09-13)

#4897

This is wrong!!! These dogs PROTECT our families. It is a DISGRACE that the council is doing this!

(Sydney, 2017-09-13)

#4899

Absolutely disgusting that a dogs life is on the line for protecting its family against an intruder on their own property! This person can trespass without punishment and then have the gall to make a complaint when the dog was obviously protecting his family. Winston could be anyone's dog! I would be gutted if this happened to my dog when the dog has clearly done nothing wrong! Dogs are family and deserve to have rights too - more so than the scumbag that entered their property with obvious ill intent! Disgusting!

(Birtinya, 2017-09-13)

#4900

The knt deseved it.Had no right to have the dog in that position to retaliate.

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#4901

This is wrong in many ways

(Darley, 2017-09-13)

#4903

The dog did his job protecting the property and owners. If you kill this dog you have blood on your hands and you are condoning home invasions and break and entering. No one should be in this situation as no one gave the intruder the right to enter the property. Where is the proof the dog bit the intruder? Where are the photos of the bite? Why isnt the guy being charged? THIS IS DISGRACEFUL AND THE COUNCIL NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SEIZING WINSTON. #Hedidnothingwrong #Savewinston #Thecouncilhavenoright

(Adelaide , 2017-09-13)

#4912

Dogs saving an owners property is the same as having a guard on duty. What was the intruder doing trying to get into the owners place in the 1st place? (up to no good ) and will go on to another place and intrude it as well

(Bowen, 2017-09-13)

#4914

This is a travesty, this beautiful dog was protecting his home and family. To put this dog to sleep is just a kneejerk reaction by people who have no intelligence or compassion. They may not like dogs but that isn't an excuse to murder them. Also does Rockhampton Council approve of home intruders.?

(Goulburn, 2017-09-13)

#4916

This is a disgrace, since when do criminals have more rights than a victim. Is this council condoning Burgulars to help themselves

(Adelaide, 2017-09-13)

#4919

This is just wrong. First, an intuder enters the house at his own risk. And second, proof is needed or its just hearsay.

(Hemma t, 2017-09-13)

#4920

We don't need nazis in this country.

(Brisbane , 2017-09-13)

#4921

No dog should be put down for protecting its family/pack that is its job!!!

(Brisbane , 2017-09-13)

#4922

the dog done his job

(mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4924

I am signing because I think it is disgusting that an innocent animal would be put to death for protecting his family from someone breaking the law. This should be picked up by media and the whole country should know.

(Woody Point , 2017-09-13)

#4925

Surely commonsense has to prevail. A dog protecting their humans and property, apart from them being a beloved family member this is also one of their unspoken roles. If only the people enforcing these laws were magistrates we wouldn't have to worry about scum bags trying to enter our properties unlawfully because they wouldn't get off with a warning!!!

(Upper Caboolturre, 2017-09-13)

#4931

I dont want Winston put down he was doing his job as a guard dog looking after the property

(Sarina, 2017-09-13)

#4932

Dog did the right thing.

(Weipa , 2017-09-13)

#4936

This dog was doing his job, protecting his home!

(Ipswich, 2017-09-13)

#4937

I believe that dogs are meant to stop or attack intruders. What is this world coming to. Honestly I would bite ab intruder. This dog should live.

(Twin waters, 2017-09-13)

#4940

because this dog was doing his job defending his home mine would do the same

(sedan, 2017-09-13)

#4941

I think if you have gone into someone's yard that you know you're not meant to be in you deserve everything you get. The poor dog was just doing what you would if you found someone in your yard upto no good. We don't get the same punishment if we do the same so why should the dog

(Port Lincoln , 2017-09-13)

#4942

Dog did his job and I am happy with this animal to do it again if needed
Regards Ben Coles

(Caloundra , 2017-09-13)

#4944

My dog bit a policeman in my yard. Silly buggar is a cattle dog, not a pig dog..... No come back as they had entered my yard. Are you desperate for money Mackay Regional Council? or just Cruel and uncaring?

(Byron Bay, 2017-09-13)

#4954

I do nit believe this dog should be Euthanized

(Brisbane , 2017-09-13)

#4955

The dog was defending his own yard

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#4956

Everyone has a right to protect there property, owning a dog to help do this is one way. What was the person that complained about being bitten doing in the yard at at 12 o'clock at night, he should be prosecuted for trespassing.

(Mackay , 2017-09-13)

#4959

The person should never have entered the property without authority, the dog did nothing wrong. Fine the person for trespassing if your going to do anything otherwise get hard evidence before anything happens

(Biloela , 2017-09-13)

#4960

Free winston

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#4961

laws need to be changed - dog did nothing wrong, he was protecting his owner and his territory, prosecute the quillty and leave the innocent alone

(Davoren park, 2017-09-13)

#4962

I've had similar experiences with noosa shire council. 3 dog declared dangerous never bit anyone. Snoopy first dog chased a dog out of yard .it was not being looked afer or fed properly .owner had been in SA for about 8 months. Yes he bit it. . Thats it i copped thousands of dollars worth of fines. Owners nothing. Other dogs didnt do anything just here. 20 years of this shit. Advice dont let go perservere

(Sunshincoast , 2017-09-13)

#4964

I believe what the shire is doing is wrong. He was doing the right thing and protecting his property. He should never have been there without permission.

(Mandurah, 2017-09-13)

#4966

I don't think a dog should be killed for protecting there own property

(Dapto, 2017-09-13)

#4969

Why should winston be put down for doing his job protecting his family.... so sad...

(MORANBAH , 2017-09-13)

#4973

The dog was in his own backyard protecting his family. If he was out on the street it would be a different situation. Save Winston

(Adelaide , 2017-09-13)

#4974

What was this person doing at that time of night on their property! Winston is only doing his duty protecting their property! Release him & charge trespasser!

(Yeppoon , 2017-09-13)

#4977

This could happen to any family in the future. Dog is only doing protecting the family!

(Sawtell, 2017-09-13)

#4978

He was protecting his property.

(Gold Coast , 2017-09-13)

#4980

A dog should not be punished for protecting his home/family especially in the middle of the night

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#4982

This feels wrong. Fix the justice system and stop making the innocent the villians.

(Cooma , 2017-09-13)

#4986

The intruders shouldn't be on people's property and the dog doesn't need to be put down its wrong he was only protecting his family

(Sydney , 2017-09-13)

#4987

I 'm signing because once again this another stupid rule about dogs. Shame the rulings don't apply so quickly to people who hurt kids

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#4988

All this animal was doing was protecting its home and no body should have been entering the properyy

(Logan, 2017-09-13)

#4989

This is an absolute disgrace especially for animal welfare. A stupid human fckd up, the dog done what any threatened man or animal would do and but it was in the wrong? The prick that got bitten should be fined.

(Caloundr, 2017-09-13)

#4994

dogs protecting their families home shouldn't be blamed for uninvited intruders getting bitten.

(Kings Langley , 2017-09-13)

#4995

The dog was obviously trying to protect his family from intruders and that's what people want in a guard dog

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#4996

Poor dog just looking after their home why wasnt the guy in trouble for trespassing absolutley pathic free poor Winston

(Malanda, 2017-09-13)
