It is unfair to the retirees to implement this plan. It will be too costly. I have alot of health issues and costs and cannot afford it.Rolanda Pyle (Brooklyn, 2022-03-16)

I do not want an Advantage Plan as some of my doctors take no advantage plans, I will need to wait for preauthorizations for my needed tests and only my doctor and I should determine my health care plan.Patricia Prince (Huntersville , 2022-03-16)

I am signing this for two reasons: I started working for the City in 8/1982 and felt that I was accepting a job for less pay than in the private sector, but my future retirement would be protected (both pension and health benefits); and, I retired counting on the continuation of my pension and current City health benefits until I die.Barbara Flynn (Brooklyn, 2022-03-16)

We worked hard for the benefits that we earned and were promised. The cost of opting out of Medicare Managed Care is prohibitive for many. I have some specialized medical needs as a brain aneurysm survivor.Karen Curley (Brooklyn, 2022-03-16)

I'm signing this petition to let the unions, the Mayor and anyone else that NYC retirees deserve quality Healthcare. Regular Medicare was what we retired with and chose. We do not want anything else. When I started teaching, we started with a very low salary in comparison to the private sector in exchange for promised benefits. Now after working for almost 40 years as an educator, I am relying on my benefits as a retiree. I am counting on you, the Mayor, to do the right thing. Preserve the benefits promised to all our retirees. It's the right thing to do and do not contest the Judge's court ruling on appeal. This was never supposed to happen and back door deals never end well. I was part of a generation that supported the city when it was broke, was fired in 1975 during the budget crisis, had no salary increase for 7 years after being rehired. We sacrifice enough to get the city out of a jam. Do the right thing.Thank you
Joel Hanan (Boynton Beach, 2022-03-16)

After working for 32 years at the Department of Education (both as a UFT member and as a manager)and now retired for 12 years, I think it is unconscionable for the city to change the health benefits that were promised to us for life in the middle of our “golden” years.Ronnie Loeshelle (New York , 2022-03-16)
#4536
I think you should not mess with an agreement you made. They did something similar to the military retirees with copays when they should of gotten free medical for life. Now it's out of control.

NYC retirees are being treated unfairly. Retirees who are 65 and older should be grandfathered into their current plan. The MAP should be an option for those who have not retired yet.Phyllis OHanlon (Staten Island, NYC, 2022-03-17)

The Contractual obligations agreed upon by the City and it’s Unions, should not be reneged on, the City, to the detriment of its retirees who live on fixed incomes and cannot afford to pay for increased premiums because of this horrible agreement between the two largest Unions (DC 37 and the UFT) and the DeBlasio administration.Dianne Haynes (Durham, 2022-03-17)
