We the residents are held responsible for theft from the municipal structure but there is no security or recourse to prevent the theft the extra costs are already encumbered by the residents for the lack of service delivery which has put unecessary burden on the residents who carry the cost of the lack of security measures neglected by the municipality on their property and the open invitation for theft by criminals.

As residents we can not be held liable for costs when the thieves are stealing cables daily, we already link to armed response who assist to react to residents assisting when thieves are seen digging in broad daylight so they can be stopped, our domestic security companies also assist to standby the repair teams when fixing the cables, the costs are already high. A solution to stop the thieves needs to be actioned not penalise the residents already suffering the weekly electricity outages due to theft

I'm tired of cable theft every 3 - 5 weeks. I've had to throw away countless amounts of food, and I run a business from home, I can't do my work without electricity. I have an inverter that can last through load shedding, but not 1 - 5 days without power.

I am frustrated at the lack of service delivery in my city. On top of that we have weekly cable theft or vandalism causing power interruption for days on end. When repairs need to be done there are either no parts, money for parts or staff are unwilling to work certain times or places. Police or army should be called in to patrol the hotpots, curb illegal connections and bust the scrap dealers buying the cables or parts.
