These books are unacceptable reading for our children. I do not consent to my tax dollars being spent on pornographic material and made available in schools.

Sara Steinbach (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#206

Children are important. They need to be protected and taught a good education.

TROY RICKHEIM (BLOOMINGTON, 2023-08-14)

#207

I agree that these shouldn’t be in school libraries

Brandon Anderson (Minneapolis, 2023-08-14)

#209

We should focus on math and real science and language skills.Let the parents decide what and when they want the child informed and sex

Dale Jones (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#211

Books should be age appropriate

Bill Winchell (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#212

I'm signing because I believe these "sexually explicit books" are inappropriate for our school libraries, and are part of an agenda aimed at grooming our children. As a taxpayer, I do not consent to this abuse of our monetary resources, and, as an adult see it as a responsibility to voice this concern toward protecting our children.

Jill Fike (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#213

My reason for signing this petition is to keep pedopheliac interests and sexual grooming out of our schools out of our society. Children deserve to learn without grown up issues being weighted down on their shoulders. Children belong to their parents-not to the schools or state, thus parents are to be the ones to discuss such morals with their children.

Nancy Marihart (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#214

I do not want sexually explicit books in Bloomington Public School libraries and want them removed immediately.

Barbara Stocker (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#215

I work at a church in Bloomington that have many families that attend.

Jeanne-Ann Davis (Burnsville, 2023-08-14)

#216

Children are at a very impressionable age. When we introduce information at a young age in books yet have not even taught children how to think critically about what they are taking in, then we enter dangerous ground. The school system can be applauded for teaching respect, social skills, as well as education in all subjects. These reading materials are not necessary, nor helpful in that process.

Kayla Bissonette (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#217

this stuff should not be in school libraries

John Jones (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#218

Jeremy Hildeen (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#220

I want appropriate reading material in our schools. Teach the basics only

Kathy Kelly (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#223

Those materials are not suitable for anyone, let alone our youth. Our culture has a tradition of observing some semblance of what is age appropriate. The current trend is to tear that down and continue corroding our society. It must stop.

Steve Hanson (Minneapolis, 2023-08-14)

#225

This kind of human garbage has no place in the public schools of our city. these kinds of books represent the worst of human behavior and should NOT be available in the school libraries. Our tax dollars are meant for academic learning not perverted human behavior.

Dan Weekley (Minneapolis, 2023-08-14)

#227

The people pushing this garbage on kids are demonic communists and must be stopped legally and peacefully by the community.

Thank you kris for organizing this

Adam DeSanto (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#229

I want kids to be kids. Nothing more, nothing less.

Amy Christiansen (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

Young children should not be fed gutter literature or reading material. Apply high standards in all matters pertaining to culture and education.

Anne Duff (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#233

I care about our kids.

Steve Chedky (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#234

I have raised three kids who are now adults and I have 2 grandchildren. I believe that there is NO room in our schools for this sexually explicit trash. If a parent wants to allow these types of books in their home that is their priority but to allow these books in the classroom is absurd. I do not want my grandkids or other kids to be subjected to this. There is NO reason that kids or young teens should be reading about this type of sexual behavior. People wonder how or why we have the issues in our communities regarding sexual exploitation, sexual assault etc.
This is part of the problem and it needs to stop!

Steve Casalenda (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#235

Stop forcing this disgusting material on our kids.

Kevin Bellmont (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#239

I support protecting the innocence of our school-aged children and believe parents have the right to protect their children from harmful and inappropriate adult sexual content.

Deborah Borman (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#240

My two daughters wnet all their school years to Bloominton public school and graduated from JHS. I am appalled at what children are being exposed to in schools~~mainly CRT and sexually explicit books. Sex education has gone too far. Parents should be responsible with what their children are reading NOT the school board! Drag Queens should also not be allowed in the schools. Seriously~~not education! Also schools should not be able to instill transgender ideology into children's heads without their parents approval. When families decide to have children the schools are not supporting the children therefore they do not have the right to make these decisions. The USA is not a communist country therefore the government must stay out of decision making!

Christine Olsen (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#241

Explicit content not suitable for school age children.

Adam Steinbach (Bloomington, 2023-08-14)

#248

I agree with the petition.

Chuck Benbow (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#249

If parents want their children to read/see these books, it should be up to them to take them to the public library or buy them for themselves. This should not be up to the school to decide.

Beth Moffitt (Minneapolis, 2023-08-15)

#250

It is disgusting that our school district would have these books in their library's.

Shelly Boisvert (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#255

Our students do not need to be encouraged to read sexually explicit books. They do not belong school libraries. These books are appalling!

Alice Balmer (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#256

Public school is not the place for teaching sex education or for disseminating salacious material.

Stephen Nutter (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#257

I do not want my grandson exposed to this reading material .

Kristen Zick (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#259

I desire to have the innocence of our daughter protected and for all minors in the Bloomington School System to be protected from sexual, mental, emotional abuse and distress in any way.

Cecile Bromley (Bloomington, 2023-08-15)

#260

I'm signing this petition because the schools have no right to teach my children about sex. I'm sure my kids will hear stuff from their friends, then come ask me but that is A PARENT'S responsibility to tell them and control that narrative when it comes to sex, NOT the schools. Also, kids can't vote or drive until older so who are they to say at this point they can decide if they are a boy or a girl. Now that being said, my husband & I will support them 100% no matter what when the time comes, if that's what they truly want. I'll need to know it is not influenced by another person and a teen just wanting to fit in. Please also remove all books relating to trans- sexual and making the change.
Thank you

Andra Martin (Minneapolis, 2023-08-15)

#262

We need to protect our children

Lynn Peterson (Bloomington, 2023-08-17)

#268

To sign petition

Randy Peterson (Bloomington, 2023-08-17)

#270

I fully agree that all sexually explicit materials should be removed from public school libraries as parents have no control over the selection of books in that public setting. It is idiotic to expose kids to this material in the name of "education."

Susan Beuning (Bloomington, 2023-08-17)

#274

These materials are inappropriate in a school library.

Joan Pearson (Bloomington, 2023-08-20)

#276

I don’t want our kids exposed to such lewd content. These books are predatory and support grooming behavior. Only pedophiles would be ok with our children reading books like these.

Anthony Korwicki (Bloomington, 2023-08-20)

#281

I care about our children and future generations. Someone needs to stand up and protect our children from harm done when exposed too early to sexually explicit material. My children are no longer in BPS but attend a private school instead.

Elizabeth Hofer (Bloomington, 2023-08-24)

#282

I want to support the conservatives candidates for the school board and I want to donate to the cause

George Mueller (Bloomington, 2023-08-25)

Bree C (Bloomington, 2023-09-03)

#296

Remove age inappropriate sexually explicit material

Greg Blevins (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#298

Children have a right to maintain integrity and innocence. They need classic literature that inspires good character.

Stacey Bridell (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#299

Sexually explicit material does not belong in the possession of anyone not having legal status as an adult. There is no reasonable or acceptable reason for exposing children to information their minds and hearts are incapable of intelligently processing. Furthermore, giving children access to such material apart from parental knowledge and consent is a violation of parental rights. The overwhelming responsibility of school is to educate students how to think about and understand academic subjects. It is not the purview of the educational establishment to undermine parental choice when it comes to their child's moral and worldview development.

Mark Ahlsten (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#302

I have grandchildren in this district and I do not want this perversion presented to them!

Nancy Walters (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#304

Sexual explicit material is not helpful for the school system which should be teaching math, geography, writing, and reading.

Greg Giese (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#308

Sexually explicit material has no place in our schools.

Heide Becker (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

These books don’t belong in school media centers. Why are public schools trying to sexualize minors?

Chris Nicholson (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#310

I am also sure that there are MN laws that could be used to prosecute those who supply this type of material to minors.

Dale Morgan (Bloomington, 2023-09-11)

#321

I do not agree with this type of material in the school districts.

Alayna Skogland (Bloomington, 2023-09-13)

Mike Prok (Bloomington, 2023-09-13)

#323

We need to protect our children and not tolerate this material being forced on them.

Gary Rask (Bloomington, 2023-09-14)

#326

The material in these books are not appropriate of any child under 18 years of age. The content in these books would be in the back room behind the curtains if this was on film. Schools don’t have playboys or hustler magazines for the straight students or any books for that matter.

Katrina Bigger (Bloomington, 2023-09-15)

#332

If we have gotten to the point that we need books like this to teach acceptance of others we are seriously in trouble.

Shannon Mavis (Bloomington, 2023-09-17)

#335

I support the immediate removal.

Steph Raskin (Bloomington, 2023-09-19)

#337

This type of material does not and should not be allowed in our schools. As a Parent or Grandparent we have the option of parental controls on our TVs as well as the Internet. I don't want my grandchildren to have access to this in school when we ban it at home. It doesn't belong in any school!!!

Susan Couch (Bloomington, 2023-09-20)

#338

I want to protect our children from sexually explicit materials and agree with this petition

Nichole Wheatley (Bloomington, 2023-09-20)

#340

So against this being available to children!!

Lisa McBain (Chanhassen, 2023-09-20)

#341

Books in any sexual nature, with people having sexual acts, other than for science or health purposes is mind porn. Our kids don't need to read about boys eating mothers out, or boys having oral sex to a man. Why are the authors not put in jail for material like this? Underage sex is underage sex if you write about it, dream of it or worse act upon it.
Why do we need to have books in our schools about having sex with anyone? Other than reading about sex for health purposes? Why are we awakening love, awakening that sexual desire we all have at such a young age?
This does not not belong in our school systems where children should not be reading this type of "adult" behavior.
A public library yes, but not our schools.

Rachel Keller (Bloomington, 2023-09-21)

#342

This is unacceptable content for our children to be exposed to in our schools.

Nathan Anderson (Bloomington, 2023-09-22)

Barbara Churchill (Bloomington, 2023-09-22)

#344

Simply put- I care about the health and we’ll-being of children. Those that have an agenda to condition children to accept anything perverted and ill-willed are using and abusing children.

Kim Kemp (St. Paul, 2023-09-22)

#347

This material should NEVER be in our schools for kids to get their hands on. Simply disgusting.

Lori Gilbertson (Bloomington, 2023-09-22)

#351

I don't want this rubbish, so called literature, to pollute the incident minds of our precious Bloomington kids.

Greg Sandvig (Bloomington, 2023-10-01)

Linda Morshare (Bloominton, 2023-10-01)

Normalizing sexual abuse on minors is abhorant.

Ruth Whipple (Minneapolis, 2023-10-04)

#356

Remove these books are children do not need negative influence of these books.

LeAnn Laudahl (Minneapolis, 2023-10-06)

#362

This pure and outright indoctrination of our youth must stop! Content matter such as this only normalizes this type of behavior and would allow a child to not realize they were victimized.

Krys Lundberg (Bloomington, 2023-10-06)

#365

I believe we need to stand up as parents and adults to preserve the innocence of our children. Sexually explicit books and videos that validate pedophilia, incest, sexual sadism and gender confusion should not be available to our underaged children in schools!

Nikki Taylor (Bloomington, 2023-10-10)

#368

I am a former secondary education teacher, mother of 4 Bloomington former students and grandmother of 2 young granddaughters. Let's empower students wit knowledge, proficiencies and success instead of reinforcing fantasy thinking and pretending.

#379

Schools have no business exposing our children to sexually explicit material.

Gwen Bush (Bloomington, 2023-10-18)

These materials are harmful for children, even if they are older. This is pushing a moral code on people who are too young to make informed decisions on behaviors.

Nancy Losier (Bloomington, 2023-10-24)

#384

I want to protect the vulnerability and innocence of our precious children.

Meg Kuehn (Bloomington, 2023-10-24)

#393

I am opposed to transgender literature in our elementary and middle schools.

Gregory Houck (Bloomington, 2023-10-26)

#395

The decisions made in the next few years will determine whether we send our child to public school or homeschool instead. There is absolutely NO NEED for this kind of material in schools. Focus on actual education of standard subjects and getting test scores way up instead of wasting our tax money, time and energy on this.

Erik Kruse (Bloomington, 2023-10-26)

#399

I'm signing because I want to protect the hearts and minds of children from being groomed and sexually exploited by the depraved hearts and minds of evil men and women.
