Crowthorne Bus

There is a clear need for a bus service to link surrounding areas to Crowthorne railway station. This would best run from Wokingham and through Crowthorne village (and possibly to 'The Meadows' shopping centre.

Ian Hil (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#204

I live in the village and often use the train station, and the changed bus route would make a huge difference in being able to do so

Phil McGuinness (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#205

It’s needed!

Michelle Hunter (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#207

We definitely need a bus service to connect from the station end of Crowthorne to the village.

Jenny Aspinall (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#209

Think a bus that ran from the station to the village would be a big help to the elderly and for people who would be unable to walk those distances .

Eileen Deacon (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#210

I live in Crowthorne and use the train, I would find this useful to use

Rachel Carter (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#218

I love over a mile from the station and a bus would be a great alternative instead of trying to get someone to drop me off all the time.
I also love the shops near the station too.

Denise Nicholson (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#219

A bus service between Crowthorne station and other parts of the area would be invaluable for the local community. It is a much needed service particularly for people who no longer drive or who prefer to use public transport.

Evelyn Hill (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#223

A bus to Wokingham or Martins Heron for trains to London . Wokingham for the shops .
The train at the weekend from Crowthorne are once an hour then once every 2 hours . I used to get the green line into London from dukes ride then that stopped . All the development now must generate enough usage for bus services ? After all some of CT is in the Wokingham Without Parish yet extremely limited services to Wokingham

Susan Brookes (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#225

I’m signing because I live locally and would definitely use the bus.

Mike Rathge (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#226

It's a long walk up to the station from the high street. In the past a stop has been added when there has been roadworks. This would be super convenient for all people in Crowthorne and also make it easier for people visiting.

George Evans (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#227

It is a well needed bus route!

Kathryn Francis (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#229

Having lived in Crowthorne for many years, I know how difficult it is to get to and from the station

Trish Burns (Yateley, 2023-07-08)

#230

The rail station is a transport hub and as such should have public transport links with Crowthorne High Street and the wider area.

Laura Wolfenden (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#238

CVAG has been saying this for years with no result. It is a good suggestion and would be a sensible addition to Crowthorne.

Carole Doran (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

Bus to Crowthorne is a absolutely needed

Thomas Tong (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

I am 85, cant walk far,and would love to be more independant.

Sylviao Lawler Froome (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

I live in Crowthorne and to not have a bus service that runs past the station end, in this day and age, is ridiculous. There are more properties than ever before in that area that house many commuters that would find this link helpful to say the least. It makes more sense now to have a link between the High Street, Crowthorne Station and then further east, towards Finchampstead/Yateley areas.

Helen Chang (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

#245

I live in Crowthorne and we love the local businesses at the station end of Crowthorne and don’t want to lose them so bus to that end of Crowthorne will support these businesses

Charlotte Whitehead (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

Nadia Kruger (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

#259

It's a service that my children could use if they needed to get to places outside of Crowthorne. Plus I have an eye condition that may stop my ability to drive in the future and so I will be alot more reliant on public transport.

Alison Wetherall (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

#262

I'm a resident of Crowthorne and I agree there should be a bus service available at the station end of the village.

Andy Holley (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

#265

I would be delighted if there was to be a bus available to Crowthorne village. At the moment we have only the train close by.

ALISON FARRAR (whiteBritish, 2023-07-09)

Having lived through in Crowthorne for 30+ years until recently it would have been lovely for myself when younger and also my teenagers more recently to have had a bus route to get to the station. 2 of mine regularly got the train to college.

Wendy Kranz (Bracknell, 2023-07-09)

#272

It just makes sense...It seems silly to not have a bus connect to the train.

Tori Powell (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

Dorothy Barker (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

#277

I am in favour of a bus service in the Crowthorne station area.

Neville Mitchell (Crowthorne, 2023-07-09)

#278

It is so very important to have local transport. We are all being encouraged to not use our cars, which is crazy with such limited support. The station is so out of town.

Joyce Berry (Sandhurst , 2023-07-09)

#279

I’m with you on this and think, it would be great to have buses around the area for a much easier and cheaper access to various shops and nearby towns and cities.

Junie Ranin (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

#280

I use a bus nearly every day to Camberley or Bracknell when it’s too hot, cold or wet to cycle. The walk to the nearest bus stop is currently 1.5 miles each way which can be difficult.

Joy Owens (Crowthorne , 2023-07-09)

#282

I used to live in Crowthorne thry should have more buses running in the area

Hev Mayes (Farnborough, 2023-07-09)

Joy Mammen (Crowthorne, 2023-07-10)

It’s a disgrace that there’s no bus service, at the Crowthorne Station 🚉 end.

PAUL AGNEW (CROWTHORNE, 2023-07-10)

#301

This area is in need of a bus route as soon as possible.

Jean Pugh (Berkshire, 2023-07-10)

#302

I think there is a real need for a good bus service in Crowthorne. 3 a day to Wokingham is of little use to most older residents. No bus from Crowthorne Station is awful. And no bus service to Reading at all from anywhere in the village.
We have no banking service in Crowthorne so need to be able to get a bus to bigger towns for even basic services.

Linda Hedley (Crowthorne , 2023-07-10)

#305

We have no public transport to the station. Parking very limited there. About 1500 more houses have been built here with no additional public transport provided.

Eileen Frampton (Crowthorne, 2023-07-10)

#309

My parents live near the station in Crowthorne and my mother can’t drive for health reasons. She has no means of getting to the main part of Crowthorne, or to Wokingham, without a lengthy walk, which is not always manageable. Even if she could drive, a lack of bus means an environmentally damaging car is the only other option. An affordable, environmentally friendly option of the bus returning would enable many additional people to visit the local shops so they can ‘shop local’ rather than relying on online shops. It also provides an opportunity to get out and around for younger and older community members, those unable to drive due to physical/mental health, and those who can’t afford a car: the benefits to mental and physical health are undeniable and not re-instating the bus is irresponsible and a failure to serve the communities you purport to represent.

As I get older I feel that driving my car is becoming a chore.I have medical issues which will prevent me from driving in the near future.Getting on a bus to take me the short distance I want to go would be amazing. Please help

The only post office is at the station, and I have mobility issues and would like to be able to use the train as well.

Terina Goodings (Wokingham , 2023-07-11)

#316

I feel this is a very necessary service to reduce car usage to three popular destinations = good enviromentally.

Daphne Partridge (Crowthorne, 2023-07-11)

#317

So many elderly don’t drive anymore and for some taxis are expensive.

It would be great to have the bus service and it would help the environment.

#323

I live on Wellesley Drive and I would use a bus service into Crowthorne.

Diana Husbands (Crowthorne , 2023-07-12)

#325

I am sick of people driving to the station and parking in our road! It is not their fault, they are left with no option but the parking is dangerous and prevents emergency vehicles/delivery vehicles from accessing the entire length of our road

Julie Glass (Crowthorne, 2023-07-12)

#326

I think it’s a worthy course

June Davison (Crowthorne, 2023-07-12)

1) We need an integrated transport system to reduce our reliance on cars
2) There is inadequate car parking provision at Crowthorne station.

Gareth Lloyd (Crowthorne, 2023-07-19)

#353

My family all live in Crowthorne & I know this would be used by them extensively as they live in the village but often take the train for work.

Mary Coleman (Banstead, 2023-07-20)

I used to live in Finchampstead, went to school at Edgbarrow, and know how bad the busses were there - the only busses we had were to Wokingham, so a bus to Crowthorne via Duke's Ride and Waterloo Road would have been perfect.

Joanne Duce (Crowthorne, 2023-07-22)

#390

It is essential a bus service links up the station end of Crowthorne as it will enable users to utilise the High Street , the market and library not to mention being able to get to Frimley Park Hospital and surroundings.
Also in the reverse , so little parking at the station , so this will help immensely.

Annette Welsher (Crowthorne, 2023-07-24)

#393

On a personal level - I do not have a driving license and public transport gives me independence and saves money on taxi's

For others - I'm really keen for public transport to be a good option for all.
This is also important for our aging population as the elderly surrender their driving licence.
With the cost of living crisis and climate crisis supporting individuals to use public transport is the right thing to do

Naomi Crawley (Bracknell, 2023-07-26)

My mother used to live in Crowthorne & my husband & I always shopped in Crowthorne & I liked shopping in Wokingham but with covid & getting older I don’t drive much so buses would help to get to different places.
