Stop LaSalle from fining residents for feeding feral cats in the TNR program

Comments

#202

Starving strays is wrong and fines to people who care is unjust

Shawna Tooke (Lasalle, 2023-06-13)

#203

Feeding feral cats should not be illegal when they are fixed and properly cared for. It keeps them out of garbage and probably healthier than if they were left on their own.

Ruth Rotulo (Lasalle, 2023-06-13)

#204

These poor animals need help too. If people are kind enough to feed him so be it.

Karen Gilhuly (Windsor, 2023-06-13)

#207

Uncaring people are the reason there is a feral cat problem. These cats live terrible, often short lives. Feeding neighbourhood cats is not a crime - it is compassion - something that LaSalle town council is hugely lacking.

Natalie Sinn (Essex, 2023-06-13)

#208

Starving feral and stray cats will not solve the over population issues.
Fining caregivers (who are not the problem)
Is ineffective.

Brittney Storie (Windsor, 2023-06-13)

#209

Animal welfare is important to me. Making compassion for them an offense is disgusting

Pamela Barry (Windsor, 2023-06-13)

#210

Any living thing deserves to have a full belly....nothing should go hungry!

linda michelle bombardieri (Sault ste. marie, 2023-06-13)

#212

I’m signing because how a community treats it’s most valuable shows a lot about their character and punishing people for helping vulnerable animals shows that your character is vile and sub human and you will be voted out!

Tracey Hall (Windsor, 2023-06-13)

#213

I'm signing because this is a feral but domesticated animal that needs human assistance to survive. They didn't put themselves outside. A human has stepped up and taken on a responsibly, Blocking the care of of feral cats because it doesn't fit with the wanted image is inhumane.

Peggy Bastien (Windsor, 2023-06-13)

#214

Be it 2 cats or a colony, TNR works & forcing empathetic responsible caregivers to starve COMMUNITY cats to a slow torturous death is just a cruel and inhumane way for haters to cull them. It's not costing anything to care for them. The caregivers pay for food, supply water and use on their own time keeping the cats localized to their territory and they are spayed/neutered. Town unjustified bylaw to destroy the proven best animal/cat control programs worldwide. Stop the madness!

Linda Squire (Amherstburg, 2023-06-13)

#215

I care leave the cats alone

Priscilla Dinunzio (Amherstburg, 2023-06-13)

#222

I agree!

Laura Renaud-Strand (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#223

Animals deserve a life of love and care

Bernadette Kuzniak (Belle River, 2023-06-14)

#224

Animal welfare is important. We are obliged to help those who cannot help themselves.

Faye Dunn (Lasalle, 2023-06-14)

#226

I disagree of this penalty, who's in charge of wanting these cats to starve?

tina halim (windsor, 2023-06-14)

#227

I've ALWAYS ONLY had rescues, and IMO taking RESPONSIBLE care of feral colonies to ensure TNR and no disease issues is of paramount importance and shows compassion!

JAY FREDERICK (windsor ontario, 2023-06-14)

#228

Feral cats that are fixed, are no threat, or cause an increase in kittens.

Dena Peifer (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#230

This is a stupid law.

Greg Loebach (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#234

Bc all animals deserve to servive! I think fining ppl for feeding a living thing that's hungry, is just inhuman.

Tiffany Henderson (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#237

All cats deserve love and not every one of them is comfortable indoors.

Cassandra Meca (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#239

We need to do the right thing! I stand with the cats!

Deb Van Trigt (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#240

This is a cruel by law. Do better!

Margaret Curley (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#241

These cats will perish without the aid of kind people feeding them

Karen Wells (Kingsville, 2023-06-14)

#242

The by-law should be amended to allow residents to feed community cats.

Gurman Bhatti (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#244

This is so horrible. I can’t imagine being fined so ridiculous.

Rebecca Crumb (Sault Ste Marie, 2023-06-14)

#245

We have a responsibility to feed these creatures, domestic cats are not naturally feral, it is a terrible life for them, and humans are the reason they're there in the first place.

Sonya Watson (Lasalle, 2023-06-14)

#246

I care about the feral cat population.

Sandra Hodgins (Amherstburg, 2023-06-14)

#247

I love animals and I feed cats at my home as well. They will die if people stop feeding them.

Patricia Ford (Amherstburg, 2023-06-14)

#248

We need to take care of our fellow creatures and if done responsibly then I see nothing wrong.

Brian Chownyk (Tecumseh, 2023-06-14)

#251

I’m a care taker for feral TNR cats, one which took 2 years of slowly gaining our trust became our forever indoor cat 4 years ago

Amy White-Meilleur (LaSalle, 2023-06-14)

#252

All animals need food .

Phyllis Beedle (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#254

I don't agree with that bylaw, all animals need food and water. Just like humans.

Marianne Banks (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#255

Colony cats need to be cared for and fed!

Diane Morrison (Chatham, 2023-06-14)

#258

It's ridiculous that this couple were fined for doing the humane thing and properly caring for these cats.Fine the people who won't spay/neutor their pets!

Alice Pigeon (Harrow, 2023-06-14)

#259

It is inhumane to allow an animal to starve.

Nancy Brown (Lasalle, 2023-06-14)

#260

These animals need help

Danielle Pelland (Lasalle, 2023-06-14)

#261

I’m an animal lover and I will not watch any animal be abused. Letting them starve is abuse.

Deb Lougheed (LaSalle, 2023-06-14)

#263

this is not right anf what they are doing.

Pauline Barrette (Windsor, 2023-06-14)

#264

They're Feral cats for heaven sakes they need to eat too.

Victoria CANDURO (Tecumseh, 2023-06-14)

#265

This is so wrong to fine people for feeding feral cats. Leave these kind hearted animal lovers alone. Why punish someone for caring !!!!!

lydia acchione (amherstburg, 2023-06-14)

#267

I love cats and all cats deserve a decent life

Lynn McFarlane (Harrow, 2023-06-14)

#270

Trap spay neuter vaccinating and then responsibly supporting these cats is the best way to reduce the issue of cat over population.
The majority of the concerns come from attracting unwanted wildlife into urban areas. This happens for a multitude of reasons, not all of those reasons are related to feeding feral cats. That is the issue that should be addressed.
Fixed feral cats can be supported without attracting wildlife.

Julie KIDD (LaSalle, 2023-06-14)

#271

People caring for feral cats that had been microchipped, neutered, vaccinated should not be fined for doing so. They are doing the neighborhood, neighbors and community favors well as the cats.

Sue Baxter (Windsor, on., 2023-06-14)

#274

We need to take care of our animals and NOT punish and fine caring loving people who are.

Paula Ghiloni (LaSalle, 2023-06-14)

#276

I'm signing because cared for cats that arevspated, neutered, vaccinated have a right to be cared for. Not all can be brought into homes. A caring community of TNR will actuay reduce feral cat populations.

Tania Mask (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#277

I believe 100 % in the tnr program

Jennifer Colebourn (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#281

B/C This is ridiculous

joe Elschner (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#285

This is animal cruelty. I cannot believe this is an actual bylaw!! Shane on anyone who supports fining people fir feeding these poor strays!

Cheryl Amyotte (LaSalle, 2023-06-15)

#286

I agree

Karen Balvert (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#287

Bylaw outdated and unfair.

Kerry Fuller (LaSalle, 2023-06-15)

#291

These animals don't have a home to go to or a warm place to sleep. The least we can do is supply food for them to survive. They aren't a menace to society, especially given the fact that they are TNR'd. This bylaw is completely unnecessary.

Staci Harrison (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#293

people should not be punished for being kind

Norma Weaver (Cottam, 2023-06-15)

#294

We lived in LaSalle for 40 years before we downsized. It used to be a nice place to live. What happened, doesn't the mayor and council members have a heart anymore? You spend thousands protecting snakes and other species what’s wrong with helping cats? Thai proposal doesn't even have anything to do with raising the taxes.

Edna Meloche (Amherstburg, 2023-06-15)

#295

I’m f the city doesn’t want to feed then then someone had to. Telling someone what they can do with their money and WHO or WHAT they want to feed is like saying the cats need to starve and THAT is illegal in Gods eye. I will feed whomever or whatever I want if they are in MY property and that fine will be given right back to you!!!

Katia Paparone (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#296

Nothing wrong taking care of living thing .

Natasha Bandulj (Tecumseh, 2023-06-15)

#297

This is ridiculous. The town wants starving animals? This makes no sense.

Jaye Campbell (London, 2023-06-15)

#299

Cat/kittens should not be left to starve.

Sharon Pope (Lasalle, 2023-06-15)

#300

Feral cats cause zero problems.

Darlene Poirier (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#301

It's ridiculous. If the animals are spayed and neutered there's no reason why we can't feed them they are not being a nuisance or repopulating the area. Have a heart

Mary Lemire (Windsor ont, 2023-06-15)

#302

It’s the right thing to do!

Danielle Gabrieau (Lasalle, 2023-06-15)

#303

These animals have already been neutered and microchipped, they're essentially someone's outdoor cat. All animals are deserving of food and shelter though, to deny them that is inhumane. Also having these stray cats around helps control pest populations.

Eryk Titus (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#304

It's cruel not to feed these cats.

Tracey Rogers (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#306

This bylaw is absolutely ridiculous. Not a good way to encourage people to help with the feral cat program. Needs to be re-evaluated at the very least.

Trisha Gillis (Lasalle, 2023-06-15)

#309

The cats are spayed. What is the harm.

Brittany Morgan (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#310

I agree to feed the cats.

Lauree Pasqualitto (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#312

Feral cat colonies keep rodent populations down. Without people doing TNR these animals would be euthanized just for existing. They are not cats that can live in a home.

Nikki Palenkas (Windsor, 2023-06-15)

#314

It's wrong. As long as the cats are fixed, they reduce the rodent populations, snakes and other critters. They protect their own territory and don't breed. Whats the harm, i don't see how its anyone's business what we do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or anything.

Sarah Maitland (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#318

I am a feral cat giver. They ate domestic animals not wild animals.

Charlene Renaud (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#320

These are fixed cats with no homes. They are not the problem. The problem is unfixed cats multiplying that become a problem.

Joy Gaudet (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#322

It's a stupid by-law and needs to be changed.

Kim Blackbird (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#324

It's asinine to not allow good, kind-hearted people to feed defenceless animals without being penalized with a fine for doing so.

Faye Koval (LaSlle, 2023-06-16)

#325

All beings matter and we shouldn’t have stray cats the same way we don’t have stray dogs right?

Paola Toro (Windsor On, 2023-06-16)

#327

This is a stupid by law the cats need all the help and support they can get

Andrew Taylor (Cottam, 2023-06-16)

#329

I’m signing because I love cats and want to help them survive. Everybody needs to eat.

Lidia Kovacevic (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#330

I believe in helping these poor babies.

Janet Garant (Lasalle, 2023-06-16)

#334

It’s a shame they are fining people who are involved with the trap and release program. The idea is to fix and let live. It’s unfortunate that Covid found many seeking love from animals but can no longer afford the. They are being dumped everywhere. Those that can help should be allowed to without the threat of a fine.

Cindy Levesque (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#335

This is a total misapplication and misuse of the intentions of the by-law

Heather Hillan (LaSalle, 2023-06-16)

#339

It's the right thing to do.

Darlene Stroesser (Windsor, 2023-06-16)

#342

Its not right to fine someone who is taki g good care of these cats. Ferals cant just be integrated into someones home so easily, that why their are programs like TNR

Kalsey Chadwick (Windsor, 2023-06-17)

#343

Council and Administration need to do the right thing and drop the fine for feeding feral cats. Let’s hope they show compassion and have a heart.

Cathy Cooke (Windsor, 2023-06-17)

#345

LaSalle’s policy on non-domesticated animals is obviously flawed and in need of correction.

Martin Reeb (Windsor, 2023-06-17)

#349

I’m signing the petition because it is a stupid bylaw which should be changed

Freda Belisle (Lasalle, 2023-06-17)

#350

All animals have rights

Margaret High (Windsor, 2023-06-17)

#351

I don't agree with it!

Kathy Williams (Kingsville, 2023-06-17)

#352

Darlene Mckay

Darlene Mckay (Essex, 2023-06-17)

#354

We have many in our neighborhood too. It's not their fault, and we have 2 rescue cats that are inside only!

Kathy(Fox) & Jim Deslippe (AMHERSTBURG, 2023-06-18)

#355

I am signing because it's the HUMANE thing to do !! Feed these babies, they are TNR'D through the HUMANE SOCIETY and have all shots.

Karen Vosburg (LaSalle, 2023-06-18)

#357

I feed the stray cats in my neighborhood. They’re all neutered so there’s no chance of kittens. They need to be fed and just getting them fixed doesn’t mean that they don’t have to eat.

Yvonne Quinn-Chittle (Tecumseh, 2023-06-18)

#361

I disagree with funny individuals who feed feral cats as I feed one myself some of them are actually discarded by their owners, who just simply stopped caring for them, and I don’t feel that anyone should be fined for protecting these cell creatures. I totally disagree with people being fined for being kind And I support this petition for the above reasons. Sincerely, James Smith.

Smith James (Qundsor, 2023-06-18)

#363

These people should not be given fines for showing compassion and trying to help.

Hailey Nolan (London, 2023-06-19)

#365

I have feral and they need to be taken care of many are throwaway cats and need taken care off

Carol Beckett (Windsor, 2023-06-19)

#366

This is an inhumane policy and we will rise up and fight it. CAT LIVES MATTER.

Denise Tann (Tecumseh, 2023-06-19)

#367

I’m passionate about helping animals. I truly believe that this is completely absurd that something would be in the air. Those willing to help cats should be free to do so.

Grace Bornais (Windsor, 2023-06-19)

#368

These Cats didn't chose to be feral, it's morons that refuse to get theirs fixed. Think of it this way- you'll never have the issue with Rodents that Windsor has!

John Dore (South Buxton, 2023-06-19)

#369

I think it is outrageous to fine people to help an animal. An animal that didnt ask to be born or abandoned to the elements. An animal that helps in rodent control as well.

Marlene Patterson (Windsor, 2023-06-20)

#371

I believe in helping strays. It's inhumane not to help. To be fined for caring and being human is ridiculous.

Arlene Bromaroff (Windsor, 2023-06-20)

#372

Feed the hungry

Lynn-Anne Bender (Windsor, 2023-06-20)

#376

This law is outdated. Are we now saying that certain animals deserve more priority over others.

Kathy Cm (Mcgregor, 2023-06-21)

#377

I think the feeding law is ridiculous, animals need to be protected. Find the people who are dumping these poor animals in our neighborhoods

Cathy Chappus (LaSalle, 2023-06-21)

#378

I believe in the welfare of all animals and strays are no different, they are living breathing creatures that have a right to be here just like we do, and most strays/feel situations are due to human neglect, totally support this cause!!

Kelly Waldron (Windsor, 2023-06-22)

#380

Not feed a hungry animal. Just ridiculous. Let’s have some common sense

Mary Brownlie (Amherstburg, 2023-06-28)

#381

I’m confused. If you’re caught being inhumane or cruel to animals it’s an offence and you can be charged. No one should be fined for making sure that an animal does not suffer. I feed 2 TNR cats and they are microchipped and are now considered mine. No one can tell me not to feed my own cats. It’s feeding these stray cats that help you to trap them n get them fixed. We are never going to solve our stray cat problem by ignoring them and leaving them to get sick, suffer, spread disease and die.

Doreen Lauriault (Tecumseh, 2023-07-03)

#382

I support feeding feral cats.

Holly Mutterback (Windsor, 2023-07-03)

#384

All animals need food and love

June Lore (Windsor, 2023-07-04)

#390

The cats didn't ask to be feral. That's on people. They deserve to be able to live safely and be fed and have shelter
What they really deserve is a home
