Pubs are the lifeline and centre to any community, community is something we have all needed over the last few years. Pubs can only survive by being diverse and live music is needed.

Duncan Broomfield (Christchurch, 2022-08-07)

Beautiful pub great atmosphere

Josh Wootton (Fleet, 2022-08-07)

#209

in a time where small business’ are majorly challenged with the cost of living crisis I feel it is important to support our local institutions such as your village pub. Martin and his team have done a superb job of reigniting the atmosphere at the Crown since taking the reigns there and having live music has been a big part of that! I feel we should be supporting the efforts of small business owners NOT unfairly putting obstacles in their way! I believe the majority of people should be heard and I believe the Crowns supporters/customers are the unequivocal majority in this case and SHOULD be heard. Please NFDC do the right thing and revoke this abatement order in favour of re-entering dialogue with Martin to reach a fair conclusion to allow the Crown to thrive and the many charities to benefit from the incredible fundraising events that ALL at the Crown work so hard to deliver.
Yours frustratedly, Heath & Family,

Heath Thompson (Christchurch, 2022-08-07)

Life is about compromise. By any reasonable judgement, the importance of fundraising and the joy of live music far outweigh any occasional and short lived disturbance.

Jonathan Hilton (Lymington, 2022-08-07)

#216

Music should be kept alive especially at grass roots venues.

Lee Sullivan (Hordle, 2022-08-07)

#217

Local pub delivering a great atmosphere and centre for community activity and community spirit, I live close by and have no issue with live music and feel no intrusion into my life whatsoever! Please allow them to continue.

David Ellis (Everton , 2022-08-07)

#219

It is my local pub and I want to support it.

Sara Woodley (Lymington, 2022-08-07)

#221

I'm signing because live music is an important and very much loved part of country pub tradition. This particular pub additionally has a long history of using musical events to raise money for charity. Events like these are the lifeblood of a healthy community, and should be encouraged, not stamped on!

Gill Bullen (Southampton , 2022-08-07)

#223

I live 50m from the Crown Inn and I think the live music is great, I hear it from my garden, whilst doing my chores.. It brings some welcome life and sole to the village. It never goes on late into the evening, and is only on in the few summer months.. These moaners, are the same ones who winge about anything and everything, and will be the ones that kill off the heart and sole of the village. For business to suceed, they need to be viable or they do not survive.. In recent years, many villages have lost there village pub, because the business are not viable to continue, and this could happen to the crown, so I think its great that the crown is trying to boost trade.. If a village that loses it pub becomes soleless and an important place for locals to gather for all ages..

Gary Vaughan (Everton, 2022-08-07)

#225

Music should be encouraged at small venues as long as it finishes at a reasonable time

David Fallon (Milford on sea Lymington , 2022-08-07)

#226

Live music is the heart of local entertainment

Matt Phillips (Brockenhurst , 2022-08-07)

#228

The Crown is the centre of the village & a hub for people to meet, some of whom are on their own & it is a vital asset for the community as a whole. Entertainment, live music & events are what bring that community together. As a small village pub, it needs to have functions to survive in a ever increasingly tough environment for which to do so. The noise wasn't exactly raucous & it wasn't like the Sex Pistols were smashing it out till the small hours with hoards of Punk rockers swarming all over the village. No,, it was a bit of afternoon jazz & folk music & the whole idea of such a complain being taken seriously AND serving a NAO is frankly ridiculous. You almost killed the Wheel Inn with such an order, now the Crown is under threat. It is totally absurd, & I can only think that it must be someone who has a bit of clout with the council. Do you really want to send another struggling pub to the wall & leave the village a soulless husk with no pub ? I know there's the club, but it is not the same as a pub which has been there for hundreds of years & it part of the local history. Remove the NAO !

Martin House (Pennington, 2022-08-07)

#229

It’s such a joy to have live music. The Crown Inn has also raised a lot of money for charity by holding music events. Such a shame a few narrow minded people want to ruin this

Sue Walker (Lymington , 2022-08-07)

#231

Music brighten up our lifes

Martin Gillett (Totton, 2022-08-07)

#232

I'm signing because I support this cause and I personally know some of the musicians involved.

Kathy Kiss (Christchurch, 2022-08-08)

#238

This pub does great work for charity and I'm sure the music isn't too late into the evening should be encouraging it instead of risking their livelihoods

Brenda Coombs (Lymington , 2022-08-08)

#240

The pub is the heart of the community. You don't buy a house next to a farm and then complain about the smell.
Keep this pub at the heart of the community.

Gary Timmins (Walsall, 2022-08-08)

#241

This is a local pub raising money for charity whilst providing entertainment for its customers and being as considerate as they can be to their neighbours.

Lauren Southorn (Lymington , 2022-08-08)

#242

My parents live on the same road and it’s an absolute asset to the community. I wish I’d known about these events as we would have come down to support.
What an amazing thin to bring to the community and long May it last!
Please don’t let the very few ruin it for us all. Come and join in instead!!!

Hannah Noble (London, 2022-08-08)

#243

I believe we cause no harm to any
One for those who bought p property near pubs know there is noise

Barry gore gore (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#246

I agree if you don’t want to hear live music don’t buy a property near a pub that is trying to support the community

Maggie Davidson (Lymington, Hampshire, 2022-08-08)

#251

Going to a pub with friends is nice, if the pub has live music it make the atmosphere so much more fun and enjoyable.
Need to stop neighbours getting their way, if you move next to a school are you going to stop the noise at break/lunchtime.. no so why stop bands? You shouldn’t. Leave the crown to entertain how they have always and how everyone enjoys.

Andrea Godfrey (Lymington , 2022-08-08)

#257

Music is never played beyond a reasonable time. There is ample notice of music events given to locals and events are not every day. This is largely done in the summer and helps many worthy causes.

Fiona Leagas (Hampshire , 2022-08-08)

#268

I feel the music has brought the community more together and it has been a fun outlet for so many.

Diana Gates (Everton, 2022-08-08)

#269

Ridiculous. One resident can ruin what the majority of others enjoy. We should all be supporting village pubs and businesses.

Janette Sutherland (1, 2022-08-08)

#271

Having visited the local area on holiday I can not imagine the impact this could eventually have on the pub itself and subsequently the local community and economy! An extremely welcoming and friendly environment that is doing so much for local charities! We need to protect these places, not put obstacles in their way!

Craig Danby (Nottingham, 2022-08-08)

#281

I enjoy live music in pubs.

Vicki Butcher (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#283

I think the noise abatement notice is unreasonable. I wish to support the business which is a vital amenity for the village of Everton and the Parish of Hordle. I believe a compromise should be negotiated for daytime acoustic indoor/outdoor live music on limited occasions throughout the year.

Malcolm Warne Holland (Hordle Lymington , 2022-08-08)

#286

Live music has always been an essential facet of community life and the Crown Inn is perfectly situated to host it. The type of music being performed and the recent timings of performances does not warrant complaints of any kind.

Full support must be given to the Crown Inn to carry out it's activities for the benefit of the majority of local residents and to both supplement it's income and provide much needed entertainment to the local population.

Peter Simpson (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#287

Small minded people again, who do not want to participate in community get together but also want to stop those who do.

Loraine Cawley (New Milton, 2022-08-08)

#292

There is only one person trying to ruin the fun and community spirit for many others. The music is not late into the night and is essential for this little community to come together.

Jane Murphy (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#298

This is not an issue that should effect a thriving local business,

Steve Evans (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#300

Live music is good for the soul. The pub doesn’t hold rock concerts which go on until late, it supports local artists who play for a couple of hours incl a break during an afternoon plus occasional evenings and donates to charity. If the music offends certain people there is always an opportunity for those people to go out and enjoy the sea or the forest or alternatively buy some ear plugs and read a book.

Joyce Belcher (Barton in Sea, 2022-08-08)

#301

I want to support Martin and the staff at their pub and I like music events.

Donna Butler (New Milton, 2022-08-08)

#302

The Crown is an outstanding pub for locals and visitors. It should be treasured and protected, not interefered with by self-centred neighbours and over-zealous public servants. Sounds like the pubs owners are being very reasonable. The same can't be said of the grumbling neighbours and council beurocrats.

Greg Parker (Wales, 2022-08-08)

#303

Why are we allowing the opinion of a tiny minority to stop something that the vast majority enjoy? This pub is a vital local resource, it's pretty much the focal point for the Everton community and they are so lucky to have it. I was born in neighbouring Hordle, Everton has a lovely friendly community which deserves to have a vibrant village pub. Let's not suck the colour out of every aspect of our lives, live music deserves all the help it can get and it's local pubs where young talent gets the chance to flourish.

Mike Pearce (New Milton , 2022-08-08)

#306

To support the local community as well as the pub business, a compromise can surely be found which restricts the number & times / duration that live music is allowed.

Simon Ellis (New Milton, 2022-08-08)

#308

The modest amount of live music is a very welcome addition to the leisure and pleasure of the village of Everton. It would be very disappointing if it were not allowed.

Simon Trim (Everton, 2022-08-08)

#309

I can’t believe that people can be so small minded and self centred.if it was everyday and evening that would be different but even then what nicer than back ground music and happy people on a summers day.

Jean Tons (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#310

All pubs should be allowed to host events/music freely without complaint.

Eva Gallagher (Hordle, 2022-08-08)

#314

I'm signing because music from the pub adds to the attraction of the local area

Mike Rowley (Everton, 2022-08-08)

#317

I’m signing this as live music and venues are becoming less and less around this area these country pubs supply live music for there customers and to raise awareness of various charities in raising much needed funds. These village pubs provide a vital community service for locals and there staff in bringing live music to showcase the future talent around the area. These village pubs are the heart of a community bringing people together for a few hours of enjoyment for all age groups.

Geoff Cheater (Ashley, New Milton , Hants, 2022-08-08)

#318

We need to keep going . And ensure pubs stay in the community. Music is a must . It's been a thing for centuries. In public houses.
It's good for us

Sally Ingrem (Pennington , 2022-08-08)

#320

It's enjoyed by the community raises lots of money.

Fran Davies (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#321

The pub is both providing work for local people and is the only local pub in the area and is much needed. The current owner is trying to make the business viable in addition to significant fund raising for local charities. If one chooses to live near a pub, a choice all local residents have made, then I think one needs to accept they are social gathering places and music from time to time is a normal part of that.

Elizabeth Parker (New Milton, 2022-08-08)

#323

I have lived in our village for over 30 years , and the current owners of the Crown are the best we have ever had . They have brought live to the village with many events including charity fundraisers . The pub has had music with all previous landlords over the 30 years.
As far as I know, the complainers are mostly new residents who moved close to a pub , and will only be happy if all music is stopped and the pub shuts . They show no signs of compromise at all.
Long live music and other events in our pub.

Robert Tarbard (Everton, 2022-08-08)

#324

I have vested interest in the local pubs & venues being able to continue putting on entertainment for their customers, especially in these tough times. I can only assume due to the order being pushed through quicker then normal, over so few events, there is a local/county/new forest council person living near by who doesn't like music!!

Kerrie Smith (Brockenhurst , 2022-08-08)

#325

I want to support The Crown Inn, Everton to allow us and their patrons/locals near and far to enjoy music played at the Pub.

Allan Reed (Highcliffe, 2022-08-08)

#326

The Crown is vital to the life of our lovely village. Gre@t to hear the music and people having a great time

Marianne Hurll (Everton , 2022-08-08)

#328

Music is important for mental health.
If you choose to live near a pub then you should accept a bit of 'noise' around opening hours.

David Fallon (Milford on sea, 2022-08-08)

#330

Martin and his team have done a lot for the community and charities since taking over the pub.

Ann Wright (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#333

Not to stop small businesses trying to make a living

Matthew Cobb (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#334

Live music should be supported!

Ben Sandford (Hordle, 2022-08-08)

#339

I believe that musicians should have every opportunity to perform and audiences have the choice to listen or move on. Pub entertainment is not a new thing, there have been "alehouse" singers and musicians going back to the Roman times. By the sounds of it, there were no "noisy" head bashing heavy metal bands, the loudest appearing to be a Jazz quintet. What happens if someone starts singing inside the pub and people join in? Most of all, money was being raised for charity which in turn could enhance someone's life or help towards life saving technology.

Jonathan Evans (Milford on Sea, 2022-08-08)

#342

We need local pubs to survive. Nothing wrong with live music. They also raise a lot of money for charities.

Diana Murphy (New Milton, 2022-08-08)

#344

The crown is a great community pub and a great asset to the village of Everton. If it can’t attract enough customers it will close and the village will die! End of story. So this is one upset resident for a couple of hours once a month or so basically wanting to shut down the village pub!

James Bailey (Lymington, 2022-08-08)

#345

As a member of Everton club and visitor of the Crown I am a avid follower of live music and see this as an essential part of both of these premises.

Chris Creed (Ashley , 2022-08-08)

#348

We have been on their often and enjoyed it food is great and these people are doing a wonderful job for Charity why have some people got nothing better to do than complain 🥵

Trudy Whitcher (Lymington Hants, 2022-08-08)

#354

because the music is not obtrusive and is kept well within the permitted hours plus idiots who complain to the council about music in a pub should not have bought the house in the first place research and all that

stephen day (lymington, 2022-08-08)

#355

Its not everynight its for good causes and its not causing undue stress !

Marion Baylis (Lymigton , 2022-08-08)

#357

these events raise lots of money for very worthwhile causes and the village needs this pub to survive with the amount of pressure on pubs in general to close is immense

Stewart Atkins (Everton, 2022-08-08)

#358

I feel that those few that complain are the few that don’t like live music. It’s not it’s going on till midnight and I feel Martin is trying his best to meet in a fair middle but as so often in our new world a few can ruin it for the masses

Lee Mellor (Southampton , 2022-08-08)

#361

I enjoy the live music that this pub provides, along with many other pubs.

Lynn Jaquest (Wimborne , 2022-08-08)

#366

I am signing this because local businesses need support, I take it the pub has been there for many years in the community, and many have to diversify to attract custom. Having live music is a staple in many of these places and anyone living nearby shoukd consider this when moving to an area. As long as the venue is complying with licence and wishes if the local authorities I see no problem and if the wider community is supportive then perhaps it is down to the people who find it a nuisance to maybe find a way of reducing the sound levels in their properties.

Mark Arnold (Ringwood, 2022-08-08)

#367

The complaint is from a very few individuals and does not reflect the views of the vast majority of Villagers

Robert Cockburn (Lymington , 2022-08-08)

Sue Foreman (Pennington , 2022-08-08)

John Goodwin (Lymington, 2022-08-08)
