I have been coming to these kiosks for a number of years, they are the hub of our community where we all meet and shouldn't be pulled down. They are historic and people's livelihood.Hayley Bardsley (Rhyl, 2021-10-12)

These kiosks need to stay. They are established businesses that provide a living for the owners and staff. They are a lifeline to many in the community.
Councils are detached from communities and make stupid decisions without consequence.

As usual the council are totally out of touch, they have there own agenda and take no notice of the people that put them there, my daughter and I are are regular visitors to the area and always get an ice cream and a brew hereIan Jones (Buckley, 2021-10-12)
#226
We use these kiosks on a regular basis and have no issue with them.Knocking them down is nothing but a waste of our money and the removal of an excellent service to both the local community and holiday makers who visit the area.

My family has been using the kiosk for years. I can’t see any point in demolishing the kiosks as the promenade is already very wide. They are a part of Rhos on Sea.Sue Shaw (Mold, 2021-10-12)

The kiosks are essential to Rhos on Sea, it’s residents and it’s visitors. How hard can it be to build replacements along side them and then demolish the old ones? It’s simple planning, quite clearly something Conwy council have not heard of.Peter Howe (Rhos on Sea, 2021-10-12)

These kiosks are a fundamental part of the appeal of This on Sea. There's already enough room for both cyclists and pedestrians. Try removing the silly wooden "chairs" sculptures.Dorcas and Victor Szendzielarz (Holywell, 2021-10-12)

I’m signing this petition because myself and my husband enjoy using the kiosk and sometimes meet friends there. Great meeting point with regulars always there plus great views and fresh air along with quality hot drinks and snacks and Moussa is such a friendly owner which is also part of the attraction of the kiosk. This is a very popular kiosk and it is incomprehensible that there is no plan to replace it !

These kiosks have formed part of the local community for decades. They are always busy no matter the weather, or time of year. Given the challenges we have all faced over the last 18+ months, the council should be supporting local businesses and not threatening to demolish them! These hubs are part of the culture of the Rhos on Sea community and due to that, these kiosks should be protected in line with the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act, which stipulates a requirement for cultural identity and promotion within Welsh communities. The Act also emphasises the need for people in the community to feel connected. What better way to connect with your community and friends, than having a refreshing walk along the promenade, followed by a hot drink and sit down at one of the kiosks?
Hopefully the council will actually listen to the views of the local and far reaching community regarding the proposed plans and actually implement something we as residents want this time!
Chloe Scott (Abergele, 2021-10-12)

There kiosks are so popular to residential and visitors alikeIt makes no sense to take away something that so many people like and use. They form part of the overall ambiance of the promenade and indeed of Rhos on sea.

I feel strongly about the decision to close the kiosks in Rhos on Sea. We regularly visit the area because of the kiosks. It is a lifeline to many elderly people where they can meet friends. The owners of the kiosks are extremely helpful and kind. Rhos on Sea will certainly not be as popular if this decision goes ahead.Barbara George (Flintshire, 2021-10-12)

How can the council be so out of touch with the tax paying public & so short sighted ??The budget for rebuilding these incredible assets could become very available if they didn’t proceed with some of the more ludicrous & ridiculous parts of the “upgrade plan”.

It's an outrage to end the livelihood of these people, I walk daily and these kiosks are always busy, thriving hubs for both locals and tourists alike. They are part of our rich community and the council should be ashamed of themselves for plannimg to discard these people as if they are rubbish.Lisa Jones (Rhos on sea, 2021-10-12)

Demolishing without providing an alternative would be detrimental to local economy and to a lot of local people's social life. The plans should absolutely incorporate the replacement of obsolete kiosks with more modern ones.Livia Pietromarchi (Rhos on Sea, 2021-10-12)

Stop destroying tradition. Although I live in Ireland I am Welsh and I have seen this rush to 'modernize' it is always a mistake to be regretted later.Diane Hughes (Cork, 2021-10-12)

Extraordinary thoughtless plans. Taking no account of people's needs and pleasures. The kiosks are a part of Rhos's unique character and their removal will take away a lifeline for many people. Also the character and use of the Cayley Prom and the embankment will be destroyed. Ask the residents not the councillors. Very disappointed that so little thought and research has gone in to this thoughtless and damaging scheme.Christine Davies (Rhos on Sea, 2021-10-12)

Yet more of our traditional seaside heritage is being torn down by unthinking out of touch bureaucrats! Cayley Kiosk is not just a seaside kiosk. It is a community hub where locals as well as visitors enjoy a traditional seaside experience whilst creating a sense of community that is being eroded with the loss of other community hubs like local pubs. It should be a listed building - tearing down this building is also destroying the fabric of the local community, shame on anyone who fails to support tradition and community.Annie Bartzsch (Rhyl, 2021-10-12)

A trip to the beach at Rhos will never be the same without the kiosk. Will probably look for somewhere else to visit that has a beach and a kiosk.
Michael Bamber (Winsford, 2021-10-12)

I'm signing this because I strongly disagree with the suggestion that the prom kiosks are removed. It would be a huge loss to the local community and to the tourists visiting Rhos and Colwyn Bay.Especially in view of Covid, they provide a more healthy outside catering venue in close proximity to the sea and beach.
I understand that "no funding" is the issue but in contrast with all the other costs, surely simple kiosks are not going to be that expensive. Funding has been found for many local initiatives, surely it can be found for them as well!
Lesley Patricolo (Colwyn Bay , 2021-10-12)
