Putting houses or flats on this small green space is absolutely ridiculous! This space is used for children of the street and is a safe place for them to go to and not to mention the lack of parking already available for the current houses it will be much more congested with more residents living in this area!!

I was raised on Kilmallie Road adjacent to this green space. It was a traffic free safe space, where children could play and still be over seen, from the surrounding houses. Too many of these spaces have been lost, forcing children in doors or restricting them to heavily overseen fixed play experiences. It is vital this area remains undeveloped to allow safe, free and imaginative, play. There is plenty of unused land around Fort William which could be developed as an alternative to this piece of ground. The only benefactors from this proposal are the land owners and developers. Even future residents would be consigned to a crowded development looking on to the back of older housing or the steep treed canal bank. Finally the development would reduce access to the back of existing houses, reducing amenity.

As a resident of Caol, Green space natural areas are far too few and to have another one taken in the current climate where more and more children are becoming obese is not appropriate. Not to mention the world suffering badly from climate change and global warming and it is deemed ok to take way land where natural flowers and grasses etc grow. Other solutions to create housing in the area need to be sought and not to have flats shoe horned into one of the only areas children have to play freely in their village.

I grew up in Caol and used this area a lot as a child and youth was a great place played football and practised Highland Games on it! I have 2 brothers with family on that street and want their kids to be able to continue to enjoy the space and not have a block of cars at the end of their garden

The effects my parents house , the field is the only green space that the children can play on and you can watch them place from your kitchen window. Too many houses going into this small space, flood issues and access road and distruption when building. The road out the back would be unaccessable when building and what would happen if emergency vehicles needed to get down the back road.

Public open space in this area which is overlooked by the existing properties should not be lost to housing. Amenity space is key to the existing infrastructure and way of life. Housing whilst needed should be tasked per the local plan in areas that would not effect the existing quality of public open space.

I'm signing because that is were I learnt to play football like many kids and would like to think that this would carry on for the kids of the future it is hard enough for kids now days to play I also went every Sunday with my father there to practice for the local pipe and as a drummajor and I then followed in my father's footsteps and if he was alive he would sign this As well as Sundays there we weren't the only father son having fun together.
