As a tax payer and voter I feel things like smoking should not be decided for me by public servants (think they have forgotten that part). I feel this has become a political sparing round of cheap political tactics. Damn we ate Adults who understand the need of measures

I am deeply concerned about the prospect of between 3 - 7 million people losing their jobs, as estimated by National Treasury. I call on Government to lift the lockdown and allow small and medium businesses to operate, while implementing safety measures.

William Pienaar (Durbanville, 2020-05-24)

#240

The government is abusing their powers and using the lockdown for the wrong reasons.

Paul Muller (Upington, 2020-05-24)

People as myself and Son got no income cannot wait till Level 1 for tourism and risk assestment to up and running by then. . So as other small businesses needs income.Disgrace.

Susan Williams (Gauteng, 2020-05-24)

#242

I’m signing because I feel that the basic science is not being used by certain Ministers to justify the terms of the lockdown. NDZ in particular talks about smoking and smokers being a cause for the more serious cases of CV19. What she omits is that the damage is already done and with holding cigarettes has created a criminal society out of nowhere.
I am not a smoker. However, I hate it when people who are trusted with the good of a nation abuses that trust.
She is simply stupid as are several other ministers and I really dislike stupid people who don’t realise they are!

the lock down is a crime against humanity. the original reasons for the lock down have since been proven miscalculated. to continue the lock down displays gross negligence and incompetence and is TREASON.

helge janssen (durban, 2020-05-24)

#249

We need to save South Africans from dying of starvation.

Clive Hatch (Emalahleni, 2020-05-24)

#250

I’m singing because, we have the hardest lockdown in the world. Our President was correct. Yet N Dlamini Zuma is continuing to kill economy by her stupid laws she’s pushing through.
It’s a personal choice from residents how they want to care for the health. She is now infringing on basic human rights.
She is also lashing out as she herself is using her power under appartite era. She needs removed as she is not working Under the Constution or human rights laws

Margaret Alberts -Ross (Kemptonpark, 2020-05-24)

#255

Millions of South Africans lost their income and more people are going to die of hunger than the virus.
South Africa's economy need to start working so that we can prevent total shutdown of our economy

Janine Sneeden (Kempton Park, 2020-05-24)

#256

I demand my human rights

Hein Huyser (Kemptonpark, 2020-05-24)

#260

The LOCK DOWN, is irrational, killing the Economy and Small Businesses, mingling in with Education that could give rise to the school year having to be repeated in 2021.4vwerks to prepare, was more than enough

Christiaan Andries Swsrt (East London, 2020-05-24)

#266

The loss of work and employment will destroy so many peoples lives and the economy.

Jean Paton (Kimberley, 2020-05-24)

#270

Because there is people that loosing their jobs, crime will go up in future and that the police can consentrate on crime and not pitty crime. It is about power and not covid anymore

#294

I want lockdown to end so that the company i work for can re-open so that i can earn a salary again

Wendy Glanninger (Pretoria, 2020-05-24)

#295

Many more people will be losing their livelihood and ways of supporting their families, than will be dying of the virus. The projected figures worldwide have proven false and there has been enough time to flatten the curve. People need to be given their rights back and families need to see each other. We have seen first hand some of the challenges many have gone through and tried to help where possible. This month my husband who is working from home may not receive a salary like many others through no fault of his own. People need to be treated and respected as adults and responsible citizens and allowed to choose what they believe would be wise choices. Some of the current laws are unjust and violate our rights in our constitution.

Ruth Grobler (Kempton Park, 2020-05-24)

#296

This prolonged lockdown has no sense and are detrimental to every business and individual. The president and some ministers have another agenda than the wellfare of the Country and it's people.

Sunet Bezuidenhout (Kempton Park, 2020-05-24)

#297

I understand Covid 19 and the risks but a country cannot stay under lockdown indefinitely bankruptcy is looming. It's becoming dangerous as people have no income and are now reverting to crime. To keep tabacco and alcohol banned how many millions will be losing their jobs think people please!!!!!

Jane Linde (Alberton, 2020-05-24)

#298

This lockdown has one major achievement to boast of.
The destruction of the economy in under 60 days
The damage done here will effect and take thousands more lives than any virus
But then it seems that the government is now drunk on the power of enforcing things like curfews.
This is dangerous territory and we need to revolt against it and stop it before we cannot any longer do so
The ANC government is nothing more than a communist dictatorship and needs to be seen for what it is

Gavin Wolff (Alberton, 2020-05-24)

#299

Economic consequences, abuse of power and illogical decisions

Len Pretorius (Kempton Park, 2020-05-24)

#303

THORA STEYN (ALBERTON, 2020-05-24)

#306

Cecilia Smuts (Boksburg, 2020-05-24)

#307

I'm signing because if lockdown isn't lifted we are completely out of cashflow income next month, and the so called support spoken of doesn't truly exist or the criteria is discriminatory!!

Shaun Todd (Kempton Park, 2020-05-24)

#308

We need to save what is left of SA

Brentia Vd Merwe (Still Bay, 2020-05-24)

#311

RSA has effectively suffered a bloodless coup. We are now under socialist and communist dogma rule. The NCCC does NOT answer to parliament, nor does it uphold the Constitution and issue 'kaws and regulations' arbitrarily and use the securucrats to enforce their warped ideologies.

Johan Vermeulen (Bronkhorstspruit, 2020-05-24)

#312

People are losing jobs and income which will result in far greater pandemic than covid19

Connie Louw (Upington, 2020-05-24)

#313

The lockdown must come to an end NOW! People are starving. No work means no pay therefore no food! A starving person is much more likely to get sick than a healthy person. The economy is in tatters and unless business is able to restart now South Africa will never recover.

Rose Steyn (Hout Bay, 2020-05-24)

#316

New info has come to the fore showing that the virus is not as deadly has earlier thought.
There is no scientific basis for this lock down.
The enforcers of this lockdown has lost all context and reality with what they are doing.

Werner Smit (Port Elizabeth, 2020-05-24)

#319

It's ridiculous

Elna Visser (Benoni, 2020-05-24)

#320

To end the lockdown

Evelyn McCord (Germiston, 2020-05-24)

#321

Need to go work
Pay my bills and eat food .

Cathy Whelan-Bruce (Howick, 2020-05-24)

#324

People are released from prison and we are in lockdown like criminals. Each person is responsible keeping themselves and families healthy according to social distancing, sanatizing and masks. Financially all families are suffering with no support from the state. We need to get back to our jobs and open companies to earn salaries. Lift the ban on sigarettes and other products which is causing law abiding citizens to buy illegal sigarettes.

Ester Duplessis (Kemptonpark, 2020-05-24)

#325

People are really struggling, dont have food and more jobs lost

Elsa Lottering (Kempton park, 2020-05-24)

We need to get back to work - the lockdown is killing us - the rules are ridiculous and are not being applied to all-

Andrew Ward-Smith (Cape Town, 2020-05-24)

#330

Am an old lady now, i refuse to be dictated when i can walk or smoke. Its ridiculous.

Magda Cordier (Welkom, 2020-05-24)

#331

Look at the figures of this so called epidemic! look at the figure of Cancer, Flue, TB, Aids. etc etc Wake up..Listen to what Educated Medical Practitioners, Scientists etc are saying ...look at the catastrophe this lockdown has caused. .look at what the People who are meant to PROTECT THEIR people have done ..Look at how in some parts of SA people carry on as though there is nothing going on and where is the Epidemic there?i. We want to Get back to Normal . We do not have high powered income coming in monthly. The way this has been handled is a shambles.....i could go on and on...Stop this lockdown .

Desiree Ward-Smith (Capetown, 2020-05-24)

#332

This is not about a virus anymore. Its a power trip!

Connir Van der Wath (Boksburg, 2020-05-24)

#333

people must return to work, lift the lockdown. People are starving to death due to not working, loosing their jobs and having no income. Companies are closing down due to not making any revenue & causing job losses. Our economy is shuttered due to this lockdown, with proper Safety measures in place our country must loose the lockdown & be functional to safe the people & the country.

Anuska Engelbracht (Kempton park, 2020-05-24)

#341

People need to get back to work and support there family

Hazel Abate (Boksburg, 2020-05-24)

#348

I need to eat

Charmaine Kimberley (Stilbaai, 2020-05-24)

#349

I’m sick of sick people treating us like idiots. Criminals have more rights than the honest citizens of this country. ANC you had me thinking there was a change in your attitude to the people of this country. Took 3 weeks for you to stuff that up

Denise Thompson (Cape Town, 2020-05-24)

#351

I'm signing because my sons are self employed, one from choice, and one because he had to take a severance package to make space for a Affirmative Action person. My younger son, who owns the business, has just been admitted to hospital with renal failure, and is in ICU until further notice. His stress level is way out of control and this lockdown nonsense hasn't helped at all!!!!

Jane Gage (Newcastle, 2020-05-24)

#352

I am very concerned about our people's future!

Johan Briel (Centurion, 2020-05-24)

#353

The purpose of lockdown was to prepare health services for a rush of infections. This did not happen. This is simply the state abusing the powers entrusted to them by the people.

Fiona Smith (Knysna, 2020-05-24)

#354

Keep in contact

Patricia Muir (Germiston, 2020-05-24)

#355

It is inhuman, against the world regulations

Helene Pretorius (Kuilsrivier, 2020-05-24)

#357

I am responsible for caring for horses but not allowed to teach. How do I feed my animals, staff and myself if I have no income?

Felicia Rowan (Meyerton, 2020-05-24)

#362

I, as a 51 year old adult and mother of 4 healthy children have been able to make rash decisions up to now. My rights have been infringed as a result of this lockdown and my income down to zero. This lockdown is past being inhumane.

Imelda Neate (Cape Town, 2020-05-25)

#363

We will starve to death without working. We cannot stay locked up forever!!!!!

Sharlene Warneke (George, 2020-05-25)

#364

Please end lock down. People are dying from hunger. Babies suffer so much. So many people without money or job or food

Annelie Smit (Pretoria, 2020-05-25)

#365

The lock down is killing the economy and the command council is abusing our civil liberty

Lesley Watson (Centurion, 2020-05-25)

#366

Because id love to resume my web design and network business

Rotondwa Johnny Morobe (Shayandima, 2020-05-25)

#368

The emotional turmoil is outpacing the effects of covid
The destruction of the economy will never be justified by any death toll
The citizens of this country are protected by a constitution that guarantees a right to work, freedom of movement and association etc which is now being denied
The citizens are being treated like children by power hungry "leaders" flexing their political muscle
The very people charged with serving and protecting the citizens are abusing their power and bullying, intimidating and even killing citizens
This virus, like all others, will run its course regardless of what we do. Education and sensible, individual precautions are sufficient

Cathy Naude (Alberton, 2020-05-25)

#369

The lockdown done what it was intended to achieve, at the moment it only cause poverty.

Johan Grobbelaar (Kempton Park, 2020-05-25)

Retha Jacobs (Uvongo South Af, 2020-05-25)

#382

I have a right to decide what is good for me and what not! I have a right to live out my human life as I choose! This is a democratic country! Lets vote if we have to!

Liza Opperman (Pretoria, 2020-05-25)

#385

This lockdown is not based on medical evidence, but on a determination by government to curtail civil liberties. The Holocaust didn’t start with the gas chambers. It started with stamping out freedoms and curtailing civil liberties. We need to protect our Constitutional Democracy at all costs

Madeleine Hicklin (Johannesburg, 2020-05-25)

#387

It hurts the country and its finances. Be town specific and not area specific in regards to the opening of areas.

Herman Smuts (Kempton park, 2020-05-25)

#388

The reasoning behind the lockdown is flawed and lends itself to corruption. More people will starve and business will collapse than people will die from COVID.

Bridget Webster (Port Alfred, 2020-05-25)

#392

Too many people unemployed and starving and its getting worse. Govt too concerned about
Locking up citizena for exercising out of hours and smoking than how people can earn a living
