If we only do a graduation virtually then there is no point and not everyone will want to see it because it wouldn’t seem as if we have to.

I have waited my entire life for these last few months of high school so that I could experience something that happens once in our life. It does not matter when it happens but I would like to have a regular graduation ceremony because these times are difficult enough as they are. My daughter has a progressive neurological disease which is robbing her of her ability to be able to walk for much longer. It’s so important to her and to us that she is able to walk during her ceremony but time is of the essence!

I feel it is important to allow the students the ability to physically be presented their diploma and awards in person. It is VERY possible for the schools to conduct these ceremonies in a safe manner. It will take planning and coordination but it can be done using social distancing and personal protective equipment, staging the groups of students and their parents in groups & of course cleaning & sanitizing. Speeches can be done virtually and sent out before the ceremony or streamed while students are waiting for their group to get their diplomas. Again, IT CAN BE DONE. PLEASE PLEASE make this happen for these students.
