I'm signing because as my local pub I believe it should retain it's heritage, as it has for all of these years...(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)

So if City Inns took over the Queen Vic in Albert Square it would change the name to give a fresh start after all that's happened there before??? Really? This isn't a Weatherspoons or a Yare's Wine Lodge, it's a landmark. Let it be and spend the money on log fires and garden furniture.(Pinner, 2017-02-28)

Born in Eastcote and lived there until 1981, The Case is Altered is known through generations and keeps Eastcote MIDDLESEX on the map.(Verwood, Dorset, 2017-02-28)
#213
Does changing pub names really bring any benefit. I'm sure most people still think about The Whittington, rather than the Pinner Arms...(Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#217
The name doesn't need to be changed as the case is being altered so the name is very accurate and should remain and is well known for miles around.(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#219
THIS IS AN ICONIC PUB THAT I HAVE USED FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND WHICH THE NAME IS PART OF ITS HISTORY AND CHARACTER AND CAN SEE NO REASON FOR ANY CHANGE(HARROW, 2017-02-28)

My parents loved this pub and its distinctive name, which should be kept because it is a great asset to the district.(Falkirk, 2017-02-28)
#226
The Case will always be The Case for me. I have lived very near to it for over 28 years(Pinner, 2017-02-28)

#230
The name is part of Eastcote's (and our family's) history.(Eastcote Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#231
the case has been my families local for years. I've been coming to the pub since I was a baby. My first job was at the case. its bad enough they are changing it as much as they are. It would be nice to keep the name at least.(London , 2017-02-28)
#232
The name of The Case is Altered is steeped in history and is a piece of our heritage which should continue .(Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#233
Changing the name is unnecessary. It would feel like a loss to the community, and would be a bad start for the new owners in terms of their relationship with the locals and regulars.(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#234
It's The Case...always will be. What's the point of changing it? Learn the lesson of The Whit...sorry Pinner Arms.(Bushey, 2017-02-28)
#236
I have lived here all my life and always know it as The Case is Altered and should retain the name(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
#241
Changing the name of this historic pub will do nothing to add to it's importance in the local community .The pub is an important part of the fabric of the area which signicance dates back hundreds of years. Changing it's name will detract rather than add to the history of this part of the county of Middlesex.
(Pinner, Middx, 2017-02-28)
#243
The Case is Altered is a historic pub with lots of great memories, changing the name just wouldn't make the place the same for me(Northwood, 2017-02-28)
#244
I grew up in the area and it just wouldn't be the same if this historic pub was renamed, people would still refer to it as 'The case' so it would be pointless(HAZLEMERE, 2017-02-28)
#249
The name "Case Is Altered" is believed to be a corruption of "Casa Alta". This is a historic name, probably dating back to a returning soldier from the Peninsular War, who may have used his spoils of war to open this pub. To change this name would be to vandalise local history.(ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#251
To change the name of this pub would be an act of vandalism, showing complete ignorance of history.(ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#252
We are opposed to the constant and unimaginative jettisoning of traditional pub names.(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#256
I've known, used and loved this pub for more than 60 years. It's always been 'The Case' and must always go on being 'The Case'. This unique and unusual name is part of the local heritage. Please don't change it!(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#261
This is a pointless change of name that serves no useful purpose and loses a bit of local history and tradition(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#263
This is my local pub and I do not want the history to be removed with a daft name change to suit making money. Community matters and it will carry on being a money spinner anyway so why ruin its history?(London, 2017-02-28)
#264
It's a great pub but the name gives it extra significance. It makes people wonder about the origin and inspires a visit(Ex Ruislip, now Beverley , 2017-02-28)
#266
I used to drink there in the 60's(Aberystwyth , 2017-02-28)

An historic name that should be preserved for the history of eastcote(Eastcote pinner, 2017-02-28)
#272
As a long-term former resident of Middlesex I resent the gratuitous and unnecessary renaming of pubs and other landmarks for no apparent benefit, or to just change the name to a 'chain' brand. The same has been done on several occasions in Brighton, and there is talk of boycotting organisations which do this.(BRIGHTON, 2017-02-28)
#275
This pub has been a very important part of my life before moving to Bognor. People down here have heard of The Case is Altered!!! It would be absolute sacrilege to change its name! Why would you want to? Ridiculous!!(Bognor Regis, 2017-02-28)
#278
It is a historic much loved landmark. Please dont change the name(Ruislip Manor, 2017-02-28)
#279
This is another case of change for change sake. There is no business case for changing the name in fact quite the opposite. This is genuinely part of the heritage of the local area, the Case is Altered has been used for over 100 years by members of my family it is nonsense to change the name. The same thing happened to The Fisheries and the Royal Oak Pubs in Harefield, who's name changes were such a disaster they were forced to change them several times after removing the original name. The whole "Name" issue became a complete joke in the local community and it would be a tragedy if the same thing happened to the Case!
(Northwood, 2017-02-28)
#283
I'm signing because I want to retain the character of the area and the enjoyment(Pinner, 2017-02-28)

I'm signing this petition as the name of the Case is Altered is very historic and has been attached to this pub for at least 200 years. The pub will always be known as the Case is Altered whatever new name is given to it(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
#291
My family home is just up the road and I haven't read anything that I think is a good reason to change a historic name(Bournemouth , 2017-02-28)
#292
I am signing this petition as simply, The Case, is The Case, well known and loved - to change the name would change this character and a massive mistake.(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)

#310
I like The Case & don't think it should be renamed.(London, 2017-02-28)
#312
i am signing this petition in support of historic integrity and to maintain the traditional name that has existed since the pub was founded almost 200 years ago. A name change will be a waste of time, effort and money. To locals and to many further afield who regularly visit and patronise the pub it will always be known and referred to as "The Case".(Eastcote, Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#313
The Case is Altered is part of the history of the area. Not just the pub but the name as well! It's centuries old and the problem today is that companies and councils seem to be quick to get rid of our history(Launceston, 2017-02-28)
#315
I would like the name to remain the same(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
#317
The name is unique and long standing. People from all parts of the Country know of the Case is Altered.(Ruislip, 2017-02-28)
#318
Would be such a shame to change it when it's known so well locally as The Case. It's part of Eastcotes history and a name change seems unnecessary. It will just make the regulars feel like it isn't 'their ' pub anymore.(Eastcote , 2017-02-28)
#322
I believe the pub name should be kept as it is part of local history,(Hayes, 2017-02-28)
#324
Pubs are an important part of a community's identity, and a pub's name is an important part its identity. Especially one as distinct and well known as this.(Pinner , 2017-02-28)

Had many a good evening here. Still meet old friends here(Brentwood Essex, 2017-02-28)
#329
The Case was my first 'pub' experience when my family moved into Eastcote 38 years ago. Those great nights with Haydon school friends will always be cherished and never forgotten. For me it will always be The Case and I hope the name will continue to be recognised.(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
#332
So much is changing around us,not for the better (in my opinion).im 1of many people that know and use the case and have done for years, why change the name,if your product is as good as you'll make it out to be it won't matter, there is a lot of history around the case area we don't try to change that, Do we(London, 2017-02-28)
#333

#338
Because having lived in the area for many years and frequented this pub many times it would be nice to keep its unique name. Too many other pubs nearby have also changed their names following a refurbishment don't following their idea for name change - please!(Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#341
This was my "local" in the 1960's and whilst I do not frequent it much these days, it would be outrageous if the name was changed.(Northwood, 2017-02-28)
#342
Please don't change the name of The Case is Altered. I used to enjoy an orangeade in the garden while my father had a pint after we'd walked the dog over the cow fields, over 60 years ago. I like to visit when I visit the U.K.(Washington , 2017-02-28)

It's part of the community history.(Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#350
Have many great memories from The Case since first going at '18', with both friends and family. Would be such a shame for the name to change and 200 years of history be lost.(Guildford, 2017-02-28)
#351
As a former local and regular at The Case I strongly believe nothing would be gained from a change of name. It is always regrettable when part of local history is apparently brushed aside.(Coventry, 2017-02-28)
#352
Heritage is important and it shouldn't be changed on a whim by some suit in an office based on 'industry practice' or, God forbid, something they've learned in a meeting. The Case is Altered should remain just that. Thanks.(Pinner, 2017-02-28)
#353
I totally agree with the sentiments expressed in the petition and don't see any benefit to changing the name of a much loved and well-known pub(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
#358
I'm signing because I believe we should keep this historic name which dates back to the Napoleonic Wars(London, 2017-02-28)
#361
Renaming a historic pub is stupid and adds no value(London, 2017-02-28)
#363
I don't see the reason for changing the name, it is well known locally as The Case and renaming this pub brings no benefits.(Eastcote, 2017-02-28)
