In the judgment of the matter National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals v Minister of Environmental Affairs and Others at par. 74 the judge said “It is illogical, irrational and against the spirit of Section 24 and how our courts have included animal welfare concerns in the interpretation of Section 24. The court also noted that “The Constitutional Court in National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals v Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development and Another 2017 (4) BCLR 517 (CC) at para 56 in dealing with the powers of the NSPCA in instituting a private prosecution had the opportunity to consider the matter of cruelty to animals within the broader context of the constitutional values that stood at the doorway of our society as well as the connection between animal welfare and the right to have the environment protected. I have been to her house, she wanted extensive security (military security) to guard her premises. After my visit there we refused to do business with her. The smell was so bad I got sick more than once and threw up. She led me believe that it is chickens that get delivered there for the dogs to eat. But since the dog was taken away from her. The chicken meat was rotting. And since then had a couple of calls from her. I blocked her calls and haven't heard from her again.(BALLITO, 2020-04-04)
