Maria Loots (Unigray, 2024-07-04)

I'm signing because City power is milking us dry, yet their service levels leaves much to be desired. Every 2 to 3 weeks we do have a power outage that takes 3 to 5 days to be fixed. Our food goes off, our appliances gets damaged, we suffer loss all the time
Let them go ask the squatters to pay for their electricity!!!!

Catherine Van Rooyen (Roodepoort, Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2847

We can't be living like this as if we are paying an installment for a furniture.reduce that fee that's way too much, R200 just like that no we can't.

Lucia Raphulu (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2849

#2851

This is get another way to cover the inefficiencies of the current government.

Nandlal Garach (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2852

This is a reap-off, I was never part of the agreement. Those that agreed to these additional charges are not representing the majority and the poor citizens of Johannesburg. How do you take from the poor, its the charges of the NHI, TAX, Petrol, Food then this plus your Load shedding. You clearly aren’t representing the middle class, and come local elections this will be dealt with.

Vusi Malinga (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2854

I'm a prepaid resident who has been struggling to pay for electricity is unable to afford the implemented power tarrifs.
City power is not fair as it is failing to apply the law to non-paying and illegal users and the burden is carried by a few in communities.
There is no fairness in this process and it is very inconsiderate and ribbery in such times with this economy, taxes and property rates.

Sandile Masondo (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2855

With the high cost of living in South Africa and low salaries, cannot afford the high electricity fees as well as service fee and high food prices. Makes living in our country very difficult and a person becomes poorer and poorer every month.

all because the electricity tariff is 12.7% how is that possible for the normal person living in SA, for a R50 you get 12units how are we as citizens of SA going to cope with loading electricity, are we really able to pay, what a scary situation for every person using electricity, we need urgent intervention from government!!!!!!!!!

#2891

I cannot afford to pay for debt I didn't incur.

Mokopa Huma (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2894

this is not fair as they are combing every one with the same comb that uses pre paid electricity, the prepaid meters was implemented so people can pay upfront and as a thank you you used to get an amount of units extra all this has now fallen away due to corruption and illegal connections and people that has COJ accounts that is not paying yet there electricity does not get switched off and disconnected until they pay the full amount outstanding as in the previous years.

Rashida Martin (Johannesburg,, 2024-07-04)

#2898

I strongly stand with the complete scrapping pff this electricity tariff, and all the unjustifiable price hikes that impact me as a consumer who is already struggling to make ends meet.

Polly Sekwala (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2899

I am signing because I am Pensioner and am still waiting patiently a year down the line now awaiting my rebates from the city. I am not even able to pay my account. I have a super high electricity bill and sanitation which I have to pay because my residence is in a sectional title complex.

Helen Klein (Roodepoort Florida, 2024-07-04)

#2902

#2905

Im not working there is no one who's working at my house

Kgopotso Mohair (Gauteng, 2024-07-04)

#2910

There are people who van barely afford food never mind paying R200 extra per month. They cant even afford to pay for goverment hospitals

Colette Damon (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2913

The new expense is not exeptibile and causes more harm on a already cash strapped community

Hannes Mare (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2915

i reject city power R200 monthly service fee

Prince Mboweni (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2917

I have chosen to use pay as you go to save electricity by watching my consumption. This is to assist ESKOM who cannot assist themselves. Now I believe that I am being punished for doing the right thing and having to pay a ‘fine’ of R250.

#2957

I cannot afford the service fee. can hardly afford basic necessities.

DIANNE BRIJLAL (ROODEPOORT, 2024-07-04)

#2958

The service fee for prepaid electricity is disgusting. I manage the account by checking and loading electricity, and if I do not, I don't have electricity. The City is not managing anything in this process, thus should not be charging a fee for doing nothing. This fee is over and above the higher tariff for prepaid, which is diabolical. They are squeezing people who make their administration easier and who typically use less electricity because they are very conscientious of it.

Kenneth Davison (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2963

I definitely with all my heart and soul DO NOT agree with the monthly service fee for electricity!!!

Thembisile Mahlangu (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

How should the people who's electricity bills are always paid be penalized, this is crazy and its killing us, we do not have unlimited funds to line other peoples pockets/ pay their debt

Salemein de Vos (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#2967

Already electricity is too expensive so we can't another electric price hike.

Tumelo Makube (Ekurhuleni, 2024-07-04)

#2968

The proposed tariff increase is way too high. It's unfair on us consumers.

Constance Montsho (ROODEPOORT, 2024-07-04)

#2970

I believe the costs are too exorbitant. Restructuring of fees should not lead to increase in costs. The City has always been collecting these fees and cannot pretend as if they woke up to a cost that they have not recovered in the past.

Makgau Dibakwane (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

Justine Merriweather (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2983

Our municipalities lack transparency and don't consult us before implementing things affecting us the tax paying citizens

Steven Teise (Randburg, 2024-07-04)

#2985

It is unfair and unlawful for city power to introduce or rather enforce its customers to pay an additional charge in an already struggling economy with such a high unemployment rate and majority of its citizens barely affording to make it through the month so I urge the courts to intervene and revoke this additional charges or rather demote city power and Eskom should supply its customers directly without any third parties

Fezile Mtlomelo (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#2988

The service charges and tariff increases are ridiculously high to pay for poor management and performance
