This is wrong on so many levels,
Free this dog, and cancel the fines!

(CONWAY, 2017-09-12)

#2804

Why is it criminals have more rights, this dog was just doing his job, protecting property.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#2806

This is ridiculous

(Mackay, 2017-09-12)

#2807

How can you declare a dog to be dangerous when it was in it's own yard, protecting it's own property & owner from an intruder!!

(South Kolan , 2017-09-12)

#2809

this is so ridiculously wrong !! whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty !!! and why the hell are we not allowed to protect ourselves and our property!!! thats all this doggie was doing if it happened at all !!! shame on mackay council !!

(Warwick, 2017-09-12)

#2811

The intruder had no right to be in that dog's territory uninvited. The dog was only doing what it should be doing, that is, protecting the property on which it lives and the people inside the house.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-12)

#2813

Let him go home! We want our dogs to bite intruders!

(Adelaide, 2017-09-12)

#2815

Without supplying reason without proof and ignoring the reason of defence of property is unbelievable in this day and age that we have a law for a reason and you choose to not act in defence of one who needs your defence.

(Brooweena QLD, 2017-09-12)

#2823

The dog was doing his job ! Why should the dogs life be ended? The intruded should be fined for creating all this drama and upset and waste of tax payers money! Why is it always the animals that get blamed!

(Cairns , 2017-09-13)

#2827

The dog was doing his job

(Walkerston, 2017-09-13)

#2831

Why should a family lose tgeir best freind for doing his job and protecting his property. The person had no right to be there and if anything he should be charged with trespassing. Was most lijely tgere to steal from them. What is this great country of ours coming to? Utter bullshit! Hope someone sees some sense here and this poor dog and his family do not endure this horrible unjust heart break because of some grub's poor and illegal actions

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2832

Winston was only doing his job! It's not fair

(Hervey Bay , 2017-09-13)

#2837

Free Winston the man trespassed end of story

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2838

The dog was doing what it is fed for. Protecting its pack.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#2839

This is a family pet doing what family pets do protecting their family's without proof only verbal accusations how can u end his life please give him back to his family

(Gladstone , 2017-09-13)

#2841

This is so wrong,Winston was just doing he's job.what if the intruder actually got in?assault, burglary, rape god knows.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#2843

The dog was protecting his home and family and the family should not be destroyed because of one minor incident. The fine should be refunded too.

(Yeppoon, 2017-09-13)

#2845

M.Spokes

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#2846

Im signing because i believe laws and regulations for dogs are to small minded. I believe that the people involed dont no enough about the average dogs nature and so on, dogs will be dogs, they dont no what a 'law' is

(Airlie beach, 2017-09-13)

#2847

Winston was protecting his property and should not be put down

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#2848

This is wrong, the reason you have a dog in your yard is to protect you and your property. The dog did his job.

(Armstrong Beach, 2017-09-13)

#2850

The intruder was in the wrong the dog was only protecting his family inside his own yard as would anyone do from a intruder

(shepparton, 2017-09-13)

#2851

The laws need to be changed for dogs who are protecting their property.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#2852

This happened to one of my dogs years ago. Falsley accused but council worker adamant it was our dog that attacked kid on skateboard. Description of dog and where it actually happened changed several times but still wanted to seize our indoor dog. Luckily common sense prevailed. The dog could easily be assessed for aggression by a QUALIFIED ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR SPECIALIST.

(Tugun, 2017-09-13)

#2854

No dog should be put down for protecting their family and yard from intruders.

(Mossman, 2017-09-13)

#2855

I'm signing this petition because this beautiful pet Winston was doing his job and protecting his family and property. Like it is reasonable for a person to act in self defence, so did Winston. Set him free

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2858

If we don't need to provide proof for our actions then society is failing and without proof then they are about to murder this mans family member.
Australian laws are backwards. Nowhere else can someone intrude your house then get attacked for trespassing and the home owner pays the price.
Why do we have guard dogs? To guard and protect for situations like this. Cops can shoot dogs in cold blood without them even attacking, yet this happens and the dog is on trial? Get your act together. #freewinston

(Paraburdoo , 2017-09-13)

#2861

I'm signing because this is so ridiculous. It's like when someone breaks into someone's home and then hurts themselves so try to sue them. This dog was protecting its house and should not be put down.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2862

He was just doing his job. Maybe the man will think about breaking into someone's property.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-13)

#2865

This is wrong! Free Winston! Imagine what could of happened if Winston done nothing! I praise Winston!

(Kambalda , 2017-09-13)

#2867

I am signing because I think it's crap that you don't need proof to seize a dog that is dangerous without any proof! Especially when the dog was just protecting its territory!!!

(Ingham, 2017-09-13)

#2870

Winston was protecting his family and his territory. He was doing his job.
If the intruder did not leave when Winston barked, we that's his mistake!
Free Winston

(Bullsbrook, 2017-09-13)

#2873

Animals deserve justice, not the trespassers.

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2874

Unfair to be put down protecting own property

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2876

This isn't right.

(Biggenden, 2017-09-13)

#2877

Dogs are family and are only protecting others.

(Ayr, 2017-09-13)

#2878

I'm signing because this dog was protecting its family from intruders. Like any good pet should do, protect the pack when danger is there

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#2881

I believe if an animal-pet is to be euthanised in this circumstances there should be responsibility of establishing proof that the complainant doesn't have disingenuous motivations.

(Cannonvale, 2017-09-13)

#2884

Dog was protecting property and residents.

(Mackey, 2017-09-13)

#2888

This is so bloody wrong, not only putting Winston down for protecting his family from a stranger, but what sort of message does this give would be the thieves? ?

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#2889

No dog should be euthanised for biting someone. There is always a reason and people should have more common sense to just approach a strange dog too.

(Rockhampton , 2017-09-13)

#2890

im signing this because i have had an absolute gut full of victims having to pay the price for ******* grubs who enter ones yard illegally to clearly commit a crime.. things need to change in this country...such incompetent spineless cowards running this country...time to stand up for the victims not the ******* scurge in society...free the dog you gutless pieces of shit....

(childers, 2017-09-13)

#2894

This is totally unfair, he was just protecting his owner and property, release this dog now!

(Perth, 2017-09-13)

#2899

That dog was just doing it's job to protect his family and his home. He, and his family should NOT be punished for it. Come on, use your common sense. Why was someone entering their property in the middle of the night. The dog is NOT the one in the wrong here. If anything, the intruder should also be charged.

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#2900

Its ridiculous, Winston had every right to live, let the invader be penalized more harshly. Not Winston for protecting whats his.

(Mt Gambier , 2017-09-13)

#2903

The dog is only being protective of his property/yard. What is that person doing trespassing on private property in the middle of the night ??? Sounds a bit suspicious to me...The dog is just doing his job , you jump my fence and my dog will do the same . FREE WINSTON...

(Aberglasslyn 2320, 2017-09-13)

#2904

Break into a property expect that a mans best friend will protect his family as is his duty as a pet an basic instinct as an animal.

The council hasn't the right to murder an animal that is perfectly domesticated an was just protecting his family. Persecute the intruder not the family pet.

(Sydney , 2017-09-13)

#2907

There is absolutely no way this dog should be put down for protecting his property, the other person shouldn't have been trespassing onto another persons property to start off with.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-13)

#2909

This dog was doing what dogs do and protecting his owners and property

(Perth, 2017-09-13)

#2911

This dog should not be killed. This person was intruding on his home and his yard, it is in his instict to react. This person should not have been doing what he did and this would not have happened.

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2912

Dog should not be destroyed for protecting the property

(Tieri , 2017-09-13)

#2913

If a dog bites an intruder it isnt dangerous. The intruder should not be there. SIMPLE

(Darwin, 2017-09-13)

#2916

I'm signing because this is just wrong. Dogs protect their owners and their property anyone that enters that dogs property deserves to be bitten. The amount of scum around town doing their break ins and stealing whatever they can get their hands on is disgusting. We all need dogs like this to protect what is ours!!

(Mackay , 2017-09-13)

#2920

Why punish this poor dog for doing its job. The person was in a place they weren't meant to be doing something they shouldn't have been. Are they on death row for breaking the law?! Innocent till proven guilty how pathetic

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2921

I am syning to save bog

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2922

1. This dog was guarding his family property
2. An intruder was sighted by a neighbour in a scuffle with the dog
3. It is obvious the complainant was the intruder
4. I believe that three complaints must be made before the council has a right to seize
5. The dog was on his own property and not wandering the streets
6. Fining the owner for having a means to protect themselves during a suspected attempted home invasion is wrong.
7. Give the dog back and suspend the fines
8. I believe councils actions are grossly unjust.

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2925

Winston was doing his job so why is he being put to death !!!!!! This is unfair.

(Redcliffe, 2017-09-13)

#2926

Beautiful dog doesn't deserve to die :(

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2930

Winston was only protecting his property and family. The intruder is the one who should be prosecuted

(Blacks Beach, 2017-09-13)

#2932

This person who is claiming the dog bit them had no right or permission to be in the fenced yard where the dog was kept. The family and dog have done nothing wrong by keeping their dog in a fenced backyard. This response is over zealous and unresearched.

(Warners Bay NSW, 2017-09-13)

#2933

This is absolutely ridiculous. This dig was protecting the property...doing his job.
Laws stop us from having guns for protection and if the killing of this animal goes ahead....what have we got to protect ourselves from intruders. Seems the criminals have more rights than honest hard working people.

(Townsville, 2017-09-13)

#2934

Its wrong that Winston is getting put down for biting someone that should not have been on the property

(Edmonton, 2017-09-13)

#2938

The dog was protecting his family. Why is the trespasser not being prosecuted???
SAVE THIS BEAUTFUL DOG

(Upper Coomera, 2017-09-13)

#2939

Through no fault of his own, the dog reacted to an intruder. Who knows what might have happened to that family if the dog wasn't there.

(Goranba, 2017-09-13)

#2942

He was doing his job and should be praised not punished.

(Rockhampton , 2017-09-13)

#2945

Again the innocent party is being penalised while the guilty party gets away free. The dog was caring for his humans and property and why was the intruder there in the middle of the night ?

(Rubyvale, 2017-09-13)

#2949

He entered privare property.

(Perth, 2017-09-13)

#2950

Council are grubs

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2951

The person should not have tresspassed in the first place!

(Caloundra, 2017-09-13)

#2952

This dog was doing his job - guarding his territory AND his family. He doesn't deserve to be put down because some idiot chose to trespass at night and got bitten! This is ludicrous!

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#2955

as the dog was only doing his job...obviously he is a great family dog and well loved. i have two dogs myself and have been told by police that if someone enters my home unounced my dogs and myself are allowed to protect my home.free winston its right thing to do.

(south yunderup western australia, 2017-09-13)

#2956

I'm signing because it's wrong. You enter someone's property at your own risk and if it was my dog I'd be glad that it bit them. Just because a dog bites intruders doesn't make it a dangerous dog. Shame on the authorities for this poor decision

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2958

Its wrong

(Finch Hatton, 2017-09-13)

#2960

This is the most ridiculous law I have ever heard! A family should be able to have a dog secured in their property that will PROTECT their property and anyone who is not supposed to be on the property should suffer the consequences of illegally entering said property! The fact that this individual has entered the property through a SIDE GATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT indicates that they were more than likely UP TO NO GOOD - so suck shit for being bitten! I think it is bullshit that a council can justify taking a beloved family pet and consider destroying it for defending its property against an intruder who entered ! SHAME ON YOU MRC - YOU SHOULD BE RETURNING THIS FAMILY PET, PAYING THIS FAMILY COMPENSATION FOR THE STRESS YOU HAVE CAUSED THEM AND HANDING OVER THE INDUVIDUAL WHO ENTERED THE PROPERTY TO THE POLICE BECAUSE I THINK YOU WILL FIND THEY ARENT AN UPSTANDING COMMUNITY CITIZEN!!!! This case disgusts me!

(Redridge, 2017-09-13)

#2962

If someone enters your property when your dog is present then you are fair game.

(Toukley , 2017-09-13)

#2963

The dog was doing it's job, protecting the yard. The person he bit could have been a robber or murderer.

(Hervey Bay, 2017-09-13)

#2964

Please don't put this dog down. He was only protecting his property and is not dangerous.

(Mountain creek , 2017-09-13)

#2970

Im signing because if it was my dog protecting everything he loves I'd want someone to do the same for me

(Perth, 2017-09-13)

#2971

That scum bag intruder got what he was deserved.
Family pet just doin what his is suppossed to do!!! Leave the dog be you ******* council***** wits!!

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#2973

I want this dog to be saved, shame on the council

(Townsville , 2017-09-13)

#2974

He wàs just protecting his yard

(hervey bay, 2017-09-13)

#2975

The dog shouldn't be kill because it's protecting its home

(Maryborough, 2017-09-13)

#2976

This dog is a hero in my eyes , he was there protecting his family , in his own yard .
Intruder should never had entered the property in the first place , y was the intruder in the backyard all hours of the night , up to no good .
Thank god winston was there , got what they deserved .
The only one here that needs to be punished is the intruder for entering the property .
Winston is a hero , and does not deserve to be put down , for protecting his family .
Free winston !!!!!

(Victoria, 2017-09-13)

#2977

the bites an intruder & you mongrels want to put him down for protecting his family & property, its you lot that should euthanized

(Altona Meadows, 2017-09-13)

#2979

Please use common sense and let Winston go home. He has done nothing wrong. The intruder was in tbe wrong.

(BRISBANE , 2017-09-13)

#2982

It's disgusting that a dog protecting his property is to be at fault at all! Let alone put down!? Illogicol, immoral and inhumane!!

(Rosemeadow , 2017-09-13)

#2983

Some people have dogs to protect their family and property. If there are signs around the property, an intruder ( particularly at night) should enter at their own risk.

(Brisbane, 2017-09-13)

#2986

No family pet should be killed for protecting his family.

(KANDANGA, 2017-09-13)

#2987

I am signing this as I believe it is NOT the dogs fault. It was protecting its property. If someone jumped inside my yard I would let my dogs bite them.. it is called trespassing! Leave the dog alone.

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#2988

Im signing because this isnt fair if a peice of scum is in your yard and your dog does his job why should he be put down perhaps the offender should be put down for being a thieving lowlife

(Mackay, 2017-09-13)

#2991

The laws need to stop seizing dogs when the dogs are doing there job of protecting its owners property.. thats just like saying.. the police cant arrest you because you didnt break the law.. the intruder took the risk of entering a property that wasn't there place to be entering.. free winston and stop trying to put down dogs who haven't done nothing wrong but protect its owners property and family.. as we all know.. all pets are family, so free winston and let him go back to his family.. and as for that neighbour who wished to complain.. you need to get a life, always got to be one tosser in the block who loves to whinge.. i just wonder, if winston wasn't there.. if intruder would of hit the neighbours house aswell in same night.. dont blame the dog, blame the idiots who want to try steal people's hardwork and for entering properties they got no business in entering

(Cairns, 2017-09-13)

#2993

What happened to the right to protect your family and property?this makes me mad as hell. There is only justice for the criminal these days it wrong wrong wrong!!

(Kallangur , 2017-09-13)

#2996

This dog was provoked by a trespasser and merely reacted in defence of his territory inside a fenced area. He does not deserve to be punished for his actions.

(4879, 2017-09-13)
